DB I swear I tried to find the old thread about this. Please don't hurt me.
Amazon now has the updated info on my book, which comes out 12/22. The cover, I think, is a lot better than the one used last year. For not having any licensing for the cover art, this isn't bad.

Jared has a quote on the inside cover, and I can't thank him enough for reading the samples and commenting on what we sent him. Anyway, just wanted to give the forum a heads up.

I asked Que what stores it would be in and haven't heard from them yet. I assume most major book store chains will carry it (Barnes and Noble, etc.) Don't worry about the cut thing, the $13 price tag at Amazon is a really good deal.

Sure, I'll sign it. If you haven't ordered it yet have it sent to me directly. If you have, we'll work it out later. Me and Howard. That's cool. hehBadgun wrote:Bill, I ordered a copy, but I'd like to send it to you when I get it and have you sign it. Think we can arrange that? I'll put it right alongside my signed copy of "I Never Played The Game" by Howard Cosell.

The only way I can guarantee you'll find it right now is to get it off Amazon. I haven't checked into which stores have placed a pre-order for it to see how many copies are selling into the chains, but since it's not an "A" level title (total BS, but evidently I lack the dark side powers necessary to make things happen the way I see fit) stores like B&N and Borders aren't likely to even order enough copies to put one on every shelf in each of their stores (don't even get me started on this). I would like to think, however, if you asked them directly to get a copy for you that they would.
If you really want to go that extra mile, grab your local store's manager by the collar and berate him for no less than 10 minutes for his chain not stocking it and insist that if he doesn't keep at least ten copies on hand throughout the holidays that something bad will happen to his dog.
...it could work.

EDIT: The book is listed at Borders.com (they're affiliated with Amazon now so that's probably a given) and at BooksAMillion.com, but I couldn't find it at BarnesAndNoble.com (typical). You can also get it direct from us at http://www.quepublishing.com/title/0789734656

First off, thanks to everyone that pre-ordered a copy of the book. I appreciate it more than you know.
I am running a small contest on the blog and wanted to share w/ you guys.
Que sent me 20 copies of my book last night. I love how it turned out, at least from a presentation point of view. There's a few things I'd do differently and there are a few games in the book that shouldn't be (Path of Neo turned out to be ass-tastic) but for the most part I'm happy with how it all came out. To actually hold a 300+ page book with your name on the cover is admittedly really cool.
That said, I think we should do some kind of contest so a lucky reader can score a free signed copy of the book. Show it off to friends! Impress your boss!
I'm thinking of a January 1 Bowl game Pick Em contest, which would include:
Cotton Bowl: Texas Tech / Alabama
Outback: Iowa / Florida
Gator: Louisville / V-Tech
Capital One: Wisconsin / Auburn
Fiesta: OSU / Notre Dame
Sugar: WVU / Georgia
Orange: Penn State / FSU
Rose: USC / Texas
You can submit your picks via this thread or by sending me an email or PM.
Pick a winner for each game and for the tie breaker pick the final score of the Rose Bowl. Whoever gets the most wins and nails the final score of the Rose Bowl gets a copy of the book. If you already pre-ordered a copy, that's cool, you can get a free one to give out to a friend or to use as a very effective coaster.

Just so everyone knows the book is now listed as available at Amazon.com at http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/078973 ... 0789734656 and will ship within a day. The Que site doesn't discount as deeply as Amazon unless you sign in as a "member" (catchy euphamism for registering your name, email and zip code) in which case you'll get 40% off (not bad, actually).
Of course you could also just berate your local bookstore manager until he/she agrees to stock ten copies at all times.
My sincere thanks to all of you who get copies of this thing. I think you'll be pleased with what you get!
