List of $9.98 games at TRU starting Thursday

Post by pk500 »

Boys:

Not a bad list of titles from all systems except Xbox 360 that Toys 'R Us is selling for $9.98 starting Thursday:

Resident Evil 4 and Sid Meirs Pirates are mine for $10 each. I hope they have them in stock. I'll be there before they open for sure.

The GTA Double Pack for $9.98 might have my name on it. Yes, I'm one of the 41 gamers in North America who didn't finish GTA III or GTA VC. I played the hell out of GTA III on the PS2 but never finished it. Did more of the random drive-arounds to cause as much mayhem as I could. :)

Top Spin at $10 is appealing, too. A horrible online game but a very good offline game if you have time to play an entire set. No in-game saves -- ugh!

I'm also curious about Pirates, too.

Take care,
PK

OOOOOhhhh. To pick up WE8 for ten bucks might be more than I can pass up. I sold it because I didn't have a lot of gaming time, but now that both kids are sleeping a little better some time has opened up.

Great list, but everytime my TRU has a long list like this they don't have any of them in stock. I see about 7 games on there that I'd like to have, but I'm willing to bet they don't have any of them in stock.

PK-

Re: GTA, over at sportgamingnation forums, bdoughty posted that Best Buy was selling GTA:The trilogy for $29.99, and he had a link to a $10 coupon as well in the same thread. So you might be able to swing all three for $19.99. That guy always knows about the deals.

Is World Tour Soccer for the PSP worth $10. Im not much of a soccer fan so if it isn't a perfect sim I really wouldn't know the difference.

Wow did I hit the jackpot. Got to TRU at 8:00 AM sharp and they had just opened. Here's what I scored:

Winning Eleven 8 (PS2)
Digital Devil Saga 1 (PS2)
Tekken 5 (PS2)
Killzone (PS2)
Sid Meier's Pirates (Xbox)
Psychonauts (PS2)
Resident Evil 4 (GC)
2 Mario Pinballs (GBA)

Spent $94 and got about 4 games that I've been wanting a long time. I'll Ebay Resident Evil 4 and Digital Devil Saga and the 2 Mario Pinballs are for my kids. There were a bunch on the list that mine didn't have, but all in all I was pleased with my take. I may go back and buy 3 or 4 more Resident Evil 4...I'm pretty sure you can get $25-$30 on Ebay for them.

Funny thing...the TRU people had no clue this was going on.

It might behoove you to get out there and get what you want before they put the price changes up.

This seems like a good place to post my used game finds from yesterday.

I was looking for a new game or 2 to get my son for Christmas. He wanted Chicken Little or Ed, Edd, and Eddy, but the only reason he stated those titles was because he saw ads from for them on the cartoon channel.

I ended up at a used media store that sells nothing but used games, DVDs, CDs, etc.. I ended up leaving with Spider-Man 2 (PC), Star Wars Jedi Academy (PC), Tork (Xbox), and Fuzion Frenzy (Xbox) all for a whopping total of $42. Who needs a 360 with $60 games when I can score like this?

I'm tempted to go back and get MVP 2005 (PC) for $13, Beach Spikers (GC) for $10, and Grabbed by Ghoulies (Xbox) for $14. Guess I'm I'm in the purge cycle of my binge-purge pattern right now :)

Man, you did great. Unfortunately I couldn't get to Toys R Us until the 26th, and they were almost all out of their $10 games. I really wanted to grab Tekken 5 for that price. :( The videogame section there was so crap, though. Most of the games on the shelves didn't have prices underneath them, which is such a basic flaw that I'm shocked a big company operates this way.

The Toys 'R Us in Dewitt, N.Y., was cleaned out. We had to stop there to get some gift bags for our son's birthday party.
