I have no beef with DB. I think he's great. I just think it would be unfortunate to see someone get banned for picking a fight with him. He picks fights all the time (as do you).

"How about we lock this thread..."

I second that. The point was made. No sense continuing it any further.

This is f***in ridiculous guys. Redneck, I mentioned it in another thread but it bears repeating, stop the crap. Antagonizing posts are frowned upon in these parts. If you think db and bdoughty are the only posters you don't know much about this place. Do you like Boston College by any chance?

I'm not unlocking this thread to start a flame war, but some stuff in here needs to be responded to. My apologies for the delayed response, but I just returned to internet access today.

I did ban Jayhawker...he had been on thin ice for a while. People may not like DB/Brent because they do get pretty sarcastic, but Jayhawker was at a completely different level. My response was based on past behavior by him...he's been a jerk in the past, trying to antagonize other posters, and I didn't want him to start it up again. Instead of taking that advice, he decided to go off on me. He was already on thin ice, and now he's gone.

As for redneck...
Jared is no longer around much and I don't think he cares what happens to this forum.

Actually, without bdoughty and db posting so much and stiring things up, this place would be a ghost town. Heck, the majority of posts here are about arguments and such.
Let me answer whether I don't care what happens to this forum.

First, you are correct that I haven't been around as much lately as I used to. Unfortunately, "real life" has taken precedence over this website lately. My grandfather died a few weeks ago, which kind of put things like monitoring a forum on the backburner. Also, both my wife and I are currently trying to finish our dissertation, and the funding for our program has run out. I've got a position lined up for when I finish...but until then, I have no income. So I've got to work like crazy to finish my dissertation while doing part-time jobs to make a little money on the side. Nearly all of my time is spent working, which means little time for the site. I'm not happy about it, but there's nothing I can do about it. Scoop offered to be a moderator, and I welcome his help, along with PKs help and all the pseudo-moderation done by some of the regulars here at the site.

Now just because I haven't been around much doesn't mean that I don't care what happens to this forum. And for you to make that kind of assumption is the sort of stupid stuff that's getting you in trouble on the forums in the first place. You can state your opinion, but you need to step back and think about it before you post. Look at what I posted earlier in this thread:
I do endorse DB's policing. You DO throw out posts that have either been covered in other posts and/or are low on content. It's good to look and see if your post fits in with some of the current posts on the forum before making a new post. So I'm telling you that you need to just use a little more forum etiquette when posting. If you don't, I'll have to take action.
This still stands. Though now you've got two-and-a-half strikes against you. If you have problems with this, feel free to PM me.

And by the way, this forum is most definitely not a ghost town w/o DB and Brent. There are a lot of valued posters here...it's a community, not just them.

Leebo,

Kazuya is actually un-banned...his ban wasn't permanent. He just hasn't returned, and I'm not sending out invitations to people when they're unbanned. Of course, if he pulls any of his old schtick if/when he returns, he's gone.

(P.S. Oops...didn't notice the bdoughboy reference by Kaz in his first post back. Considering their past animosity, Kaz is being banned again. PM me if anyone has any questions.)

Hey thanks for reinstating me numbnuts, I had no idea... (just kidding, Jared) :D

It's probably best that I stay away... with db, ScoopBrady and PK all being mods now I would probably be banned in 5 seconds flat. Seriously, I finally got it through my thick skull that moderated boards are not for me. I've found another board that's pretty cool and fits my needs to a T. I do miss talking with some of you guys with about the NBA, NFL and games, but I still feel somewhat connected to some of you because I check the board frequently. Happy holidays to all! (even PK and bdoughboy) :D

LOL... I promise I'll pop in on the NBA thread from time to time, so we can argue like the old days...

It's too bad that Stoudemire got hurt, I was interested in seeing how good Phoenix was going to be. Raja Bell is an excellent player and in some ways every bit as good as Johnson when you factor both sides of the floor. Kurt Thomas and Shawn Marion are two of the best rebounders in the league, and of course Nash and Amare are two of the most awesome offensive players in the league. Fortunately, they have way too many good players to fall apart completely and miss the playoffs, so they will end up being one of those scary lower seeds no one wants to face when #32 returns (not unlike the Lakers team from a couple of years a go that sandbagged it all season long and finished fifth).

Yeah, the only problem is that I don't think Amare will be back this year. The Suns have too much invested in him now to bring him back when he isn't full strength. But...he's a strong and motivated kid so it certainly wouldn't surprise me.

The biggest surprise this year for Phoenix is Boris Diaw. He was just a throw in along with the two first rounders in the JJ deal. The Suns have always liked him and now I'm seeing why. When he is on the floor...even with Steve Nash, most of the offense is run through him. He's averaging like 10 points, 6 boards and 6 assists...which is amazing for a guy the Hawks were calling a huge bust. He's been playing center and defending the opposing teams best big...at 6'8". If he can up his shooting percentage, he's going to be amazing. He's filling in admirably until STAT comes back...hopefully it continues.
