Got it (Premium) yesterday @ 7am from Sam's Club. No preorder, no camping out and not much of a line.

Scored 2 premiums and a core system by being #'s 1-4 camping out in front of the most ghetto Target in North Dallas.

Core is on Ebay and 2nd premium is a gift for a special nephew.

Feel free to add me to your friend's list, my Gamertag is TexasRay.

I picked up COD2, PGR3, and PDZ and have spent 95% of the time playing co-op Joust!

Still a great system and enjoying the s*** out of it.

I've got one. I pre-ordered with EB back in June and had no problems at all.

Don't have one yet. I've got funds set aside for a premium system and PGR3 but I didn't want to bother with standing in line etc since we had to travel this week for the holidays. I'll pick up the first premium system I come across after I get back to Huntsville whether it's next week or next year.

Nope. I'll get one in 2006, which has been my plan all along.

Ditto on 2006. Will wait on either the release of NCAA 07 or a price drop.

Well I don't even have an HDTV yet and I'm not sure there's that much point in picking up an X-Box 360 without the HDTV. I think the HDTV will be the first purchase but it'll likely be awhile until the price drops enough to justify the purchase of a new TV.

Best wishes,

Not to bust your balls or single you out, Doug, but this has got to be the biggest misconception surrounding the launch of this machine. Xbox 1 games look MUCH better on an HD display than a standard TV, even games that are not widescreen or 480p or 720p. Yet no one feels like they shoudn't play the Xbox if they don't have an HDTV.

The 360 will still look head and shoulders above the Xbox1, the PS2, the GC, whatever is out there, on a standard TV. Add in all the great interface and XBL functionality, the media connectivity, etc., and there is a lot to get out of a 360 on a regular TV.

Would you notice the difference on an HD display? Yeah. But shoot seanmac a question and ask him how the thing plays on a standard TV. Again, I'm not trying to bust your balls, Doug, but I really think this whole misconception has been deliberately created by 2 forces: those who want to sell HD displays, and those who don't want people to buy 360s.

An anaolgy, perhaps: Lost looks superb on an HD display; really well shot, beautiful locales, very immersive. It sounds outstanding in DD 5.1, too. But would anyone say 'don't bother watching it on a standard TV, you're better off watching reruns of Law and Order?'

No probs Zepp, my balls are relatively intact!

I haven't come across and Xbox 360 display yet that hasn't been on a high definition or LCD screen. No doubt the graphics are better than XBox or similar generation consoles but I found that the X-Box on a tube TV just can't hold a candle to a reasonbly powerful PC (i.e. Winning Eleven console versus PC). So for me the logic is that the high definition set is the piece that puts the graphics on a par with a PC. That and a few must buy games would likely sell me on the idea of springing for the 360 (or PS3).

Best wishes,

Doug

Well to voice the other side I disagree but everyone will interpret things differently. The games look better of course. They have more polys and better textures, etc...However there is a visual limit to the benefit you get on a regular TV. I've seen most of the games on both HD and non displays and the TV inherently makes the game an Xbox 1 like experience imo. Most reviews even mention this.

Let me just say that when I fired up NBA 2K6 I was oogling over how great the graphics were. I couldn't believe how good the game looked. Then I realized that I never turned my component cables to HDTV. Point is, you don't NEED to be in HDTV to see the much improved graphics.

Like I said everybody has a different take. For nearly all the games I saw, I had the exact opposite opinion.

Boom,

You're right that you don't need to be in HD to view the improved graphics, but brother after firing up NBA 2K6 this evening in HD, I about passed out. F'n unbelieveable!

I'll never touch the Xbox again.

Still waiting on that invite Sportdan. :)

Don't have one and I think I'll hold out until the ps3 starts to show what's in store as well as my next purchase being an HDTV.

Got nothing...

And here I thought I would be able to pick one up soon after. I guess it's not that bad since it's only day 3 of the launch.

Waiting for the price drop or the release of next seasons sports games---whichever comes first. I've stayed away from all the 360 displays at every store I frequent. If I see it I know I'll want it now
