OT: Missed LOST this week
Hi all,
I failed to set the DVR and missed this week's LOST. Are any of you guys archiving, that I might be able to snag a copy, otherwise it'll probably be a few weeks before repeats can get me back in the loop.
Otherwise, would any of you recommend Bittorent for this kind of use? Haven't used it before but I understand you can catch old episodes there.
Thanks

You can find episodes of just about every popular TV show on BitTorrent within hours of their first air date.
In fact, last night's "Lost" is all over TorrentSpy. Hell, look at when it was seeded according to the file tag:
Date Added 11/9/2005 8:58:36 PM
F*ck, that's like two minutes after the show ended!
These seeders are good, damn good!
Take care,
PK

Speaking of football games, can you find older games this way? I'd love to watch some of the classic NFL in their entirety, not the condensed versions they show on ESPN classic.
I've never used BitTorrent, which why I ask instead of just searching myself. I guess I could try Emule, but I doubt it would pick up much, if anything for NFL games.

Anything's possible, but I doubt you'll find much in that vein. I just did a search for "Super Bowl" at Torrent Spy and found last year's game -- that's it.
Take care,
PK

FYI, iTunes Music Store has this week's Lost for just $1.99.GameSeven wrote:Hi all,

OK, I can understand your objection to downloading music even if I politely disagree.
But why would anyone in their right mind want to pay $2 for a show that already aired this week on FREE TV when it's available for free on file-sharing networks, especially if that show contains none of the extras and doo-dads that come with a DVD box set? I'm assuming iTunes TV downloads also are commercial-free, so it's not like ABC is losing eyeballs for its advertisers, either.
That's the definition of a complete waste of money.

I actually somewhat agree with some your prior posts on downloading music. Not enough to really argue about it but in general I acknowledge the point. If anybody wants to download a freaking TV show however, give me a break. I get the starving music artist concept and respect that. The starving Tv actor however is just silly and won't get any sympathy or traction with 99.9 percent of people. Itunes is great. Maybe when every single show on TV ( or a large percentage of them) is available at a reasonable price for download you might start to have an argument on this one.

Well said, too! I'll stop now.Jayhawker wrote:It was just info. I agree that downloading shows from free TV is not a big deal. But for those that don't feel like dealing with file sharing, it's an option.

I'm trying to DL some TV torrents and if I get a few kB/s on average, I'm lucky.
A commercial service should be more reliable but yeah, paying for it is a drag if you already subscribe to cable or satellite.
Direct TV and Comcast both announced VOD deals but those don't seem particularly attractive either, since you're already paying a lot in the monthly subscription.
