I don't give a sh*t if it's in a current thread, especially one that caters to the person that might want to actually buy it...it's when people create brand new threads for it for no reason that piss me off. Not one time have I complained that someone mentioned that they are selling an item in a current thread.Boom wrote:because he put it up for sale here, and not in the OFFICIAL buy/sell thread.
You are misunderstood. Most geniuses are. The great irony is how much time people (and it's usually the same ones) waste worrying themselves with what DB might do or say.dbdynsty25 wrote:I don't give a sh*t if it's in a current thread, especially one that caters to the person that might want to actually buy it...it's when people create brand new threads for it for no reason that piss me off. Had another fun game on Live last night. We were doing a mission where you have to neutralize an enemy base full of infantry and tanks.
First time out we all piled into a couple of Bradleys and charged forward towards the base. Lots of chaos, lost sight of each other, very short game...
Second time I hopped in a chopper, but had no gunner so had to use manual firing. I took out a truck and a BMP before running out of ammo and having to land and fight the rest of the game out on foot. Again, we were pretty scattered and lost the mission.
Third time we were much more organized. I was driving a tank with 2 other players in it as gunner and commander, and other soldiers got into a Bradley to make our way to the base. I got us into a good hull-down position and the gunner took out a BMP and a truck in pretty short order. This of course made the rest of the tanks come blasting out of the base after us. We were able to take out a tank, but another one had flanked around us and put a round into us that disabled the gun.
So we all got out and headed down to the base on foot. We slowly worked our way into the front gate, using available cover (at one point I was firing from underneath a large truck.) After a wild firefight between the buildings of the base, we eventually took down all of the enemy and won the mission.
It was a total blast. What I like about this game is that it rewards proper tactics. Run-n-gun will usually get you killed in short order. But teamwork and communication are the main ingredients for a successful mission. Add to that the bazillion ways to complete a mission (heck, instead of hiding under the truck I could have hopped in and tried to run the enemy soldiers down, the game will let you do that if you want!) and for me it's the best Live game going. Certainly it can be too slow for some at times, and it may not be a looker, but for me it's more immersive and exciting than any other shooter going.
And hey, lets give it up today for all the Vets, especially my fellow shipmates. Thanks to all of you guys.

Actually I could really give a s***. I forgot to put a little smiley/winkey/tonguey/sun-glassy emoticon after my response. The great irony is how much time people (and it's usually the same ones) waste worrying themselves with what DB might do or say.
It's usually the same people, also, that seem to monitor what a select few seem to care, worry about. I guess they just have to make sure that there is a certain level of drama here.
Let's see if we can get some in tonight? In fact, lemme pop up a new thread. . .Gurantsu wrote:Depends on what TV shows my wife is watching! Usually though it's around 10PM Eastern. Holy cow. Didn't you just get it yesterday? Did you even play it at all before deciding you don't like it?Zlax45 wrote:Willing to move this game for 39.99...I will pick up the shipping...I just want to get my money back...This is not the type of game I like...Sorry.Please PM me if you are interestered. I usually sell stuff on Ebay and this is my first non-ebay sale. I have 100% feedback on EBAY so look it up.
Odd.

I actually expected a lot of people to not like this one. You definitely need a taste for the type of gameplay it offers. Extremegamer was unloading his as well.Zeppo wrote:Holy cow. I thought you were really anticipating this one.
Odd.
The only thing I'd say to those ditching it is that you should try to play until you're around 7 or so missions in. Things pick up quite a bit from the first few missions.
I played it for like 2 hours last night...and just got done playign another hour of it. I am on the campain stuck in the woods and I can't figure otu what I need to do. I got through the first few missions without killing people...I just am totally lost in the game.Zeppo wrote:Holy cow. Didn't you just get it yesterday? I'm pretty much the same. The game is ugly, but it's actually a great game. It's just not for me, I'm not patient enough to sludge through it. I can see why so many like it though, it's a solid title. Reminds me a lot of First to Fight Close Combat, a game review sites trashed but was great. OXM gave it a 2/10, and I hear they gave Op Flashpoint a 1/10. But Mine is still for sale too.Zlax45 wrote:I played it for like 2 hours last night...and just got done playign another hour of it. In the woods mission, just stay hidden. Eventually the extraction point will be moved to a position north of you that is easier to get to. Just keep your head down and don't fire on the Soviets, they'll find ya if you do!
And I'd say to try a game or 2 on Live before you sell it, I think you might like that a little better since there is a bit more action, and being able to plot strategy with other dudes is fun.
Even still, I know it's not everyones cup of tea.

I tried 2 games online, one was very laggy and the other one, I couldn't hear anyone or speak to anyone. Is there a weird setting with the mic or anything?Gurantsu wrote:In the woods mission, just stay hidden. Hmmm... shouldn't be. The only problam I had was not being able to connect the afternoon I bought the game. Every time since then it has run fine.
If you can play tonight, try to hop on with us. My gamertag is "Gurantsu", add me and I can try to set up a game for us DSPers. We can talk tactics to get ready to paste PK when he finally gets it! (Yes there is friendly fire, I seem to have a bad habit of running in front of our own guys machine guns...

another gem from Gamefaqs:
"The developers have done a magnificent job on the Chopper controls. The learning curve was about and hour for me, trying different missions and using the mission editor to help my proficiency. But since then, online and offline, I am HOOKED on piloting these things. There is nothing cooler than flying Nap-of-the-earth (treetop level) over the beautifully rendered landscape, looking out of the window, looking at the instrument cluster (which is fully functional) or looking down through the see-through floorboard at the ground speeding by.
One of the main reasons I became hooked was the "Pilot-Down" mission on Xbox Live. One team starts on a tiny Island with about 6-7 different choppers (the rescue team for the downed pilot). The other team starts on the opposite side of the map from the downed "enemy" pilot, on the main Island. They are both racing to Rescue/Capture the pilot.
So I am on the rescue team. Six on six Xbox Live game. I climb into the BlackHawk's Pilot seat and the next guy takes the door-gunner seat and two more human controlled players take the jump-seats in back. The other two remaining teammates pilot two more choppers. And.......the race is on. The cool thing is that the game doesnt give either side an exact location for the pilot, it gives a LARGE BLUE CIRCLE on the map that the pilot is believed to be within, based on where the plane went down. So, we are flying to rescue the pilot. Over the water for a minute and to the main Island. I realize that I am aproaching the possible rescue area, I check the map and I am inside the blue zone. I start banking the chopper and looking out the left window to try to find him. Seconds later after about the third wide circle (and just when we notice the red smoke canister that the pilot has discharged), one of the other chopper pilots says he sees the enemy armor/infantry approaching. NOT GOOD! I bank the aircraft one more time, look out the window and see the enemy firing at us. By this point the door-gunner is letting loose with the .50cal and my boys in back are ready to jump out to assist the pilot. Now we are taking heavy amouts of fire as we land very quickly. All three guys jump out and get wasted and the chopper gets hit with something very powerful and kills me before I could even get out of the pilot's seat. Not the greatest display of tactics, but ONE HELL OF A RIDE ANYWAY!! "
Sounds like the depth is amazing. I am worried most, including myself, wotn have the patience to find it.

Thanks to Zeppo for hanging out and helping to test a mission I was creating. Having him alond helped me to realize that the area I was using was a bit too big, so I shortened it up a bit and added a few surprises to make it more interesting. Plus I think I'm going to put a few more vehicles in it (since he seemed to like the car, unfortunately the patrolling Hind liked it too!)
It is basically a mission where your squad is behind enemy lines and has to make it to an extraction point to be rescued. Along the way there are various patrols and guards that do their best to make your day miserable. Oh, and there are civilians running around so watch your fire! I'll tweak it some more and hopefully we can try it for our poker night. If you see me online most likely I'm editing it, I have all slots set for my friends list only while I work on it, so be sure to add me if you want to test it.
