Wow, I feel sorry for you as a Blues' fan. I really do. That is one bad hockey team, and the return of Weight and Tkachuk isn't going to make much of a difference.
I haven't seen more easy chances in front of the net and forwards left unchecked in the slot and crease in any Oilers' game this season than I did tonight. The Blues are just piss-poor defensively.
Oh, and you can keep Lalime. He's brutal -- at least he was tonight.

Canucks keep rolling but they are still not playing to their full potential. Bertuzzi is still finding his game, I am still waiting for the top line to shine and it hasn't realy happen so far with the exception of Naslund.
Pronger looked good against his former team but then again every team would look good against the Blues these days.

This is what you get for a 6.8 million player? I know the Chicago is a transition team but they are just a lousy team thus far.
Just finished watching Toronto-Tampa and while the 1st two periods were rather boring, the pace did pick up during the 3rd period. One thing I was impressed, was the zebras calling a penalty on the Leafs with 30 seconds to go as Kaberle trips Lecavalier, and the score 4-3.
That call wouldn't happened before the new rules, good to see.
Now, I am ready to watch my Canucks vs Flames, should be a good one.
Grapes is right: The Bolts have the Stanley Cup hangover. No way a team with that kind of talent should be playing that poorly, although they did make a nice comeback in the third.
Sure, you can point to 'Bulin's departure, but who would want him this year?

In Nick's defense,the Blackhawks defense in front of him hasn't been too good either.
But you are right about the Bolts hangover.....and I don't think Grahme is a No. 1 goalie...the Bruins traded him to Tampa for a 7th round draft pick?...that should tell you something. Tortarella won't stand for this too long. Sean Burke's injury is the only thing keeping Grahme in net....though he could use a little help around him also.
Tampa will snap out of it, they lack intensity at this point, that hunger, they are too talented of a team to go unnoticed. Chicago has a so-so D, but Bulin had a lot of soft goals which at 6.8 million a year, you should be able to stop. Look at Toronto, you think they got a good D? It's been always Belfour the last few season to bail them out and that's what a high payed goalie should do.
Despite the 1-0 score between Flames-Canucks that was one intensely played game, with 4-5 scraps and monday is the revenge.
Tampa- Montreal has been entertaining tonite..Bolts up 2-1 going into the 3rd. Torts is his usual suprising self,starting Eklund in goal for his 1st NHL start....so far he has been looking good.
The hangover continues Theodore to his credit was stones in net,the Bolts had all kinds of chances,just couldn't get it done...outshot the Habs 34-19,and give up 2 PP goals from the point
Montreal is the come back team of the year, while being down in the 3rd period, they reversed the outcome of the game to their favour 7 times already.
Watched a bit of the WAS-TOR game as I wanted to follow closer how A. Ovechkin's progress and he is so impressive, it's scary. Leads all rookies in goals with 12 and he's not scared to throw his body around either, very pleasent to watch, and TOR won because they were more physical this time and E. Lindros is throwing hits the way he used when he was dominant in Philly.
Tough loss for the Oilers in the dying seconds of the game as NASH rebounds from a bumpy road.
Congrats to Cam Neely as he's inducted in the Hall of Fame, tough guy, could have played longer if it wasnt for his wonky knee.

I learned last night to never leave a game early in the new era NHL. Joe Thornton put Boston up 3-1 in the 3rd. I left my seat with about 4 minutes remaining. Gagne netted his 16th while I was walking out of the arena. I get in my car, turn on the radio, and Pitkanen had tied it up with 23 seconds remaining. Upset with myself, thinking that I miss the Flyers' first ever shootout, Pitkanen scores again in OT for the miraculous comeback win.
Great quote from Esche about the whole turn of events and Pitkanen's game tying goal in particular....

That Crosby goal was a beauty, speedy eye-wrist combination to end the game. Saw highlights of NAS-DAL, how about that little guy called S. Sullivan, what a season he's having, a hat-trick and a beautiful deke-goal.
1st intermission between AVS-CAN, an embarrasing 4-0 so far for Colorado, I am sure Crawford is ripping the players as we speak. I sure expect some kind of a come back by the boys....We'll see.
I really wish the Penguins would stop blowing 2 goal leads and leads in the last 5 minutes of games. I know that no lead is safe in the new NHL, but it's really true for the Pens. They are needlessly careless and constantly turn the puck over late in games.
