It's in practice mode.
The cone looks fun, for about 5 minutes, then I'll probably never touch it.Hockey is too fast of a game to be going to a paused screen, moving a target over, etc. Looks like the same game with slightly improved graphics. D-men still skate right back into the goalies face...GRRRR

I posted that, and I don't believe it either. Frankly, none of these sports games resemble what I thought the next gen would look like. They all look like HD ports to me.tsunami wrote:Didn't someone post a quote that said that NHL 2K6 was the most visually impressive of the next gen sports games? From the videos I've seen I can't believe it.
I've been saying for a while now that I think that my PC graphics are just as good if not better in most cases than the shots we've been seeing.
I also don't believe that any of these games have been built from the ground up like SOME have said. Most gameplay videos show improved graphics with exactly the same gameplay as current games.
For $400 + $60 this is inexcusable. I'm thinking these "Next Gen" systems are one big Con in more ways than one.
You combine this with how slowly sports games progress in general and you basically have prettier versions of 5 and 10 year old game engines for the most part with huge price tags.
I'm just not buying into the hype.

I just played the 360 demos at Circuit City this past weekend and my first reaction was that it looked like a semi high-end PC. I wasn't really blown away like some people here. Don't get me wrong, they looked nice. But, again, more like a nice PC setup than anything else.
The 2K sports games look like cleaned up ports of current Xbox versions and the EA ones look like semi new higher resolutions versions with choppy animations. It's great that you can see all that detail during cutscenes or replays, but people play from a zoomed out perspective where you lose alot of that graphical detail. So instead of focusing on AI, physics, and animations they work on sweat and facial details which you won't see clearly 90% of the time.
