I'm just thrilled to be able to watch the Brad Johnson-Joey Harrington duel in the Dome in person tomorrow.

The trade deadline has passed, so if a trade is in the works it won't happen for a while.10spro wrote:TO suspended indefinitely, now there's a surprise. Another detrimental comment, nooooo! According to rules and bargaining agreement he can be gone for up to 4 games for this type of conduct but you wonder if a trade is in the works. Then again who wants this guy?
As far as who would want him? The Raiders? With his talent, someone will pick him up. In the right place, maybe he won't be quite as annoying, look at Corey Dillon and how much better he's acted since joining the Pats.

There's a big difference there though. Corey Dillon's arguments and complaints stemmed from being on an organization (at the time) that didn't appear to want to win. He went to a winning team. Problem solved.Dave wrote:The trade deadline has passed, so if a trade is in the works it won't happen for a while.10spro wrote:TO suspended indefinitely, now there's a surprise. TO wants money for TO. Look at what TO did. TO is the best receiver in the game. TO deserves to be paid the most of any receivers. TO played hurt in the Super Bowl.
That's what goes through the mind of TO. If a guy can sign a huge contract and then want even more the next year why would anyone want to take that on? I hope he's out of the league for a year or two and has to come back humbled. It's such a shame that a talent like that has to be overshadowed by an ego like that.
I am a patient boy.
I wait, I wait, I wait, I wait.
My time is water down a drain.

Got to agree with Scoop on this one. I wouldn't want anyone that gets payed and critizes the organization around. He's a selfish guy, but in his own mind he keeps telling himself that what he says and does ,is the best thing wherever he goes. Don't get me wrong ,with his talent it would be silly he doesn't end up somewhere else but him and Moss together? Tic, tac, tic, tac....Dave wrote:The trade deadline has passed, so if a trade is in the works it won't happen for a while.10spro wrote:TO suspended indefinitely, now there's a surprise. Here's the other side of the argument. TO was due a roster bonus of $8.5 million next year. Eagles were probably going to cut him loose.ScoopBrady wrote:TO wants money for TO. Look at what TO did. The team is stingy about staying under the cap. They were 4 points away from a SuperBowl victory and they let key players go this past offseason rather than keeping them and even adding more talent.
They have no running game because they can't just rely on Westbrook. Like other teams which didn't have a reliable backup QB, the Eagles just didn't bother to draft, develop or sign a FA.
They are $10-15 million under the cap and they were so close last year. For whom are they saving that money?
Maybe some of that money might have shut TO up. Probably not. But what are they going to do without his production? They will be getting upset by Carolina at home in the NFC title game, if they even make it that far again.
TO is a potential cancer to any team. But in this league, you can't always dump talent. That is what the 49ers found out when they couldn't keep Charles Haley happy. So they got rid of him to a conference rival and Haley was a key player in the Cowboys' three SuperBowl rings in the '90s.
Now if a team says, "winning isn't everything," we'd rather be bad than put up with disruptive talent, that's fine. But the Eagles are suppose to be about championships. TO isn't the only player they're going to let go.
However, they really had no choice when he went after McNabb, pitting himself against McNabb in the eyes of the team and the fans. But make no mistake, even if he was a good soldier this year, the team would have tried to avoid paying that $8.5 million, either by renegotiating it away or cutting him.

I also blame the selfish f*ck for the Wings current 2 game skid. Bastard!laurenskye wrote:T.O has turned into the new Jeff George. Lot's of talent but a total cancer to a team for selfish reasons.
Look what happened to the Eagles, a team known for being one of the best run before T.O showed up, to a total clusterf*ck.

Hell of an ending to the Chiefs/Raiders game! Gutsy call by Vermail going for the win. Lots of KC fans betting pon this one were helped out. I think three and half points was the going rate. If he plays for OT, they probably win by three. Instead, they get the TD and win by four.
I'm just glad Gunther included actually covering Randy Moss in the gameplans this week. He had one huge reception with less than two minutes left, but otherwise he dominated by the likes of Dewayne Washington. Who needs Surtain???
The Chiefs secondary looked better without Surtain and McCleon. Then Warfield went out on the last drive as well. Finally, with their top 3 CBs out, Moss makes the big play. Unfortunately the Raiders had a monster choke job still in the works.
Headlines tomorrow?
Al Davis found hanged!

I must also apologize to all Bears fans. I claimed he Bears offense would be pathetic. Your offense looks like 80's 49'ers compared to the Lions. Good God they are pathetic.
Hey 34, we'll trade ya Mootch for Martz. I'll take his flakey clock management for that offensive mind over Mariuchi's vanilla "we know what your going to do" offense any day.

I was at the game and started paying attention to the routes being run by the Lions. After doing that, I started to feel bad for Joey Harrington. Yes, he sucks, but the team isn't doing any QB lined up any favors with the way they play.laurenskye wrote:I must also apologize to all Bears fans. I claimed he Bears offense would be pathetic. From what I can remember, the Lions ran three basic pass plays and they are as follows:

The not-so-straight lines are representing a Lions receiver aimlessly jogging downfield.

I was relieved the Bears pulled out that win. When Thomas Jones went down, I thought they were in trouble, but Adrian Peterson and Cedric the Entertainer really picked up the slack. A lot of people talk about their defense, but their improved O-line has played a huge role in their success.
The Eagles will not make the playoffs. They just don't have the horses to compete in the revitalized NFC East. Everyone will point to Owens, and that's certainly a huge part of the problem, but the bigger issue is their entire offensive philosophy is flawed. You have to run the football in the NFL. Last year, you had to respect their running game, this year, it's a joke. You can only go against the conventional wisdom for so long in pro football before other teams figure out how to beat you.
As for Owens, there are probably two coaches in the NFL who could tame him: Parcells and Belichick. The Pats wouldn't touch him with a ten-foot pole, so Dallas is probably the only team he could go to and not destroy. Personally, I think the ESPN guys are dead-on. If he was five years younger, he might be worth the trouble. Now, with maybe two more years of being a top receiver left, he's not worth it.

Am I the only one who thought the story of the weekend wasn't TO, but the Carolina Panther Cheerleaders?
