Guitar Hero

Post by tjung0831 »

Anybody here with a PS2 even remotely interested in this game? It looks to be a game along the same lines as Karoke revolution but it comes with a guitar controller. I have to admit...i'm thinking about picking this up

I AM IRON MAN...

Looks like serious fun. Like a few years back when I decided to learn the solo from Paranoid. It is fun to act like a teenager when you are 40. I wonder what the effects of the game would be on male pattern baldness. I'm in at 30 bucks.

Doh!! And these things don't drop down quickly enough used. Pricey but I can see why.

Bought it yesterday with a Best Buy Gift Card I got recently. LOVE IT!! I play a little (very very little) guitar, so this game was right up my alley. I've also played games like Amplitude to death, so again, this kind of game suits me.

My son and I must have played for 3 hours straight last night, and had a blast. I highly recommend it.

I can't wait to try this.... I have Guitar Freaks, which is a similar idea, but I think this is better (the guitar controller looks way better than the GF one). Anyway, I hope someone will get this for me for my birthday this month! :)

It's made by the same developers who did Amplitude and Frequency. I'm guessing it's kind of a rhythm game, where you press buttons and move around a cursor as you traverse a trippy track or tunnel.

Guitar has been seeing a resurgence lately, as companies like Guitar Center are doing real well. So people want to learn to play Stairway to Heaven all over again.

What I know about how to play guitar, which is very little, is all about Stairway to Heaven. When I was in high school/early college I played a very little bit and sucked but about 5 years ago my gf bought me a guitar which I never played. We broke up and I decided to learn STH (which annoyed the hell out of my friends). That was the only song I would practice or play. Needless to say I don't have the foundations but I could almost play that crazy difficult song at one point. In other news, I once had a piano and did the same thing with The Moonlight Sonata.

This game RULES!!! I was a little iffy on dropping $70 for the package but once I started rocking, it was so worth it.

Is this really necessary, the word guitar has been in many threads in the past.

Sorry but this thread police crap is really killing this place. It seems that some people can create a new thread about NCAA or NFL football each and every week but others get their asses reamed for starting threads that may be somewhat similar to a past thread.

Okay, I feel a bit better now.

Not to police a thread police post, but why don't you post this someplace where it's actually relevant?
Like a thread where db actually bitches about someone not searching the forums before they post.

I guess this thread is threadjacked now.

I agree with what Dimmu said. Between that and all the stupid bickering over little things, arguments and name calling, this place is headed the same direction sportsreviewers did. (Sportsreviewers had a lot more issues than this place has now, but things are going in the wrong direction here right now.)

It's really simple...common sense is pretty much the only rule around here. If you're not smart enough to realize that there are duplicate threads on the F*CKING FRONT PAGE, you deserve to be chastised. If you don't like it, don't create the thread in the first place. Problem solved.

James: That's exactly what I was thinkin, this is tilting toward SR. db has chilled a bit but the torch seems to have been passed on to some extent.

Sorry for not posting it in an acceptable place but it seems that almost any thread any more is relevant to b*tch about the policing. Definitely takes away the reason that I come here, to hear everyones view about sports gaming, sports or life in general.

db: I agree to a point, especially if there is a relevant thread on the first couple of pages but the extent of s*** dished out is getting excessive and SOMETIMES is not entirely warranted.

99% of the time, the problem is simply the person who was stupid, gets offended, or embarassed or whatever. I don't know what it is...everyone is so damn sensitive. And most of the time when I give people sh*t, it's completely joking around. However, when it's painfully obvious they didn't care to look over the front page, or even the second page, then it deserves mention. There is a REASON that all other message boards have active moderators...it's to limit the sh*t posts that clutter up a board, splitting conversations and just duplicating sh*t for the hellova it.

I don't think this place is even close to where SR was before it broke down. We all know db is an ass and usually move on and don't take it personally.

Which is EXACTLY how it should be...but a lot can't figure out how to do that.

I agree with Mo, comparing DSP to SR is like comparing apples to apples you just pooped out.

DSP would need:

1) More posts in the third person
2) More posts describing, in painstaking, Terrell Owens-esque detail, how you went undefeated against the computer in NFL GameDay.

Oh, plus Jared would need to shut down and reopen the place at least 37 times.

I agree we're a long way from SR, but we are headed that way. There is a lot more things that have to happen for us to get there. Nip it in the bud now.

I think this has gotten old. Who really gives a f*** about it to that extent? Apparently you and Brent. You scream from the rooftops that you're trying to unclutter the boards when you really aren't doing that. If you didn't reply in those threads they would quickly drop off the first page but you and Brent constantly being the anal police keeps those threads on the front page longer.

I can understand when a thread like "Who's played NBA 2k6" is started when a "NBA 2k6 impressions" thread is on the front page. But you guys expect everyone to read every post in every thread before they start a new thread. If there's a thread like "new Madden pics" and during the course of that thread somebody posts links to movies in it, then somebody posts a thread that reads "new Madden movies" and they don't realize they were posted in the Madden PICS thread leave it be.

A lot of times those Madden threads turn into wars/Wal-Mart hate threads and I personally stop looking for new information in a thread that turns into that.

So this is okay to you?

Posted 10 threads up from the other IDENTICAL thread.

http://www.digitalsportspage.com/module ... pic&t=9684

When there was already this one, with the same exact link in the FIRST F*CKING post.

http://www.digitalsportspage.com/module ... pic&t=9665

Looks like clutter to me. If you like it...go about your business ignoring anything I say. I don't give a sh*t...I just ask that people read a little bit and use common sense. Is that so hard? I guess so.

Even then, if you don't post in the thread it will fall off the first page without a reply and then it's not cluttered. My point is you keep the boards cluttered more by bumping up the post to point out that fact.
