Damn SF...at least get a pick of Zarko in a GS uni, not a Suns one.

That was not a good start. Blowing a 17 point 4th quarter lead is not going to help the psyche in Phoenix w/o Amare. The good news is they did the same thing during the first week of the season last year against Cleveland. So hopefully this just motivates them. Ouch.

Well tonight's a full slate so I'm more excited. The Kings better hope last night was an abberation instead of how they plan to play this season.

Yeah, getting run out of the gym against the Oklahoma Hornets (sounds really freakin' strange) is not a good sign although the Hornets do look a little better this year with the addition of Paul and Mason along with another year under JR Smith's belt.

That crowd last night in Oklahoma looked like a college crowd. They stood until the first bucket and didn't stop yelling the whole game.

Spurs win, Mavs win and Suns lose. The NBA season is off to a good start.

The big losers opening night aren't Phoenix, Sacto or Philadelphia. If Denver loses Nene for any length of time, it'll hurt their rotation a lot. The Nuggets' other big men haven't exactly been iron men. Nene's not a great player but he does some things defensively and on the boards. Najera is a fun player to watch, but he'll be exposed big time if he gets 25 min/g.

Where's Paul Pierce going to end up? Will he finish the season with the Celts?

I'm out of the loop of the NBA, but I do follow certain players.

Apparently, Ainge ain't getting the offers he wants to pull the trigger.

But it's widely known in the league that Pierce is available for the right price.

Wouldn't suprise me if he gets dealt after the AS break.

That would be really sad for me since Pierce is my fav Celtic after Reggie Lewis and Larry Bird.

But Ainge is dead set on going young and I don't hink Pierce wants to go trough another rebuilding mode.

Pierce isn't that old, is he?

He better get all his usual touches. I got him on my fantasy team.

Rough game for Joe Johnson in his Hawk debut. So far 17-points but not good shooting. Only one assist and one rebound. Looks tentative and doesn't really look to create easy shots for teammates.

Doesn't look happy as the game turns from a 12-point Atlanta lead to a 20-plus point deficit. Takes a flagrant-one foul.

Marvin Williams has a nice looking stroke on medium-range jumpers, kind of surprising since he didn't take such shots at NC. But will he get the ball or will Harrington and Johnson cast most of the shot attempts?

The Bulls didn't start playing until the 4th quarter tonight. Down by 21 going into the 4th they outscored Charlotte 30-9 to go to OT where they ended up winning by 4. Nice to see them comeback from a 25-point deficit like that but I still think they will end up being a doughnut. Nothing in the middle but I like them.

Joe is a good player...but he's not a PG and he shouldn't get a max contract. He was PERFECT for the Suns system...he is NOT perfect for the Hawks. They are idiots. And Boris Diaw is turning out to be a damn nice player when he's in the Suns system as well. Turns out he and two firsts and no money to Joe is a steal for the Suns, even if it doesn't turn out very well this year. The savings in the next 4 years will be huge.

I love Joe, I just don't think he's cut out, or has the mental makeup to be the leader of the team at the PG position. He could prove me wrong though...I mean it's only been one game. But his shooting percentage compared to last year is bound to go down since he's not going to get the wide open looks like he did last year.

It was good to see Ron Artest back on the floor. I hope the Pacers big men can get and stay healthy, or else the Heat could dominate them in the playoffs. Really liked what I saw from Danny Granger,too--still can't believe he fell to the Pacers in the draft.

Man, LeBron was on fire last night!

In the second quarter he hit three three-pointers in a row on consecutive trips down the floor. The crowd starting egging him on to try it again, and when he hit his fourth in a row in under two minutes, the whole place erupted! It was amazing.

By signing with the Hawks, he's pretty much doomed his career. He's a decent to slighly above average player who will have to play great to live up to what is expected out of him. With no help and being slightly over-rated to boot, He has no chance imo.

Hawks have a lot of athletes in the 6-7, 6-9 range.

With a PG who could push the ball, they could have a good running team.

But they need size inside and more consistent outside shooting too.

BTW, Salim Stoudemire seems like he's going to have a hard time getting his shot up, if teams force him to put the ball down by crowding him from the outside. He's got a quick release and is going to have to use it because he's not going to elevate over anyone. The "best shooter" in college has some work to do.

Yeah, Scoop, but I think their strength is still that they have a lot of good, young players that can step up when the main guys are lagging. They played incredible basketball in the final quarter and overtime, and you could tell they just weren't going to let Charlotte come in and beat them in their opener. Gordon had a terrible night and Hinrich got hurt, yet they still topped 100 points. That's what impressed me the most.

Which is basically what I said. He would have been a star in the Suns system...but by going to the Hawks, all he got was a nice contract and a guarantee of losing 50 games a year for the next 5 years. Hope it was worth the extra 3 mil a year.

Warriors off on the right foot...hopefully BD can stay healthy. Also, I just love Pietrus' game...he's gotta be the best international player nobody's heard of (which is fine by me).

Yep i've adopted the Cavaliers as my team this year, mainly because of fellow St. Louisan Larry Hughes....plus watching Lebron doesn't hurt either and they've got great uniforms. They looked good last night, can't wait to see them against the Spurs.

As Bill Simmons wrote...it's hard to pin playoff hopes on Baron Davis staying healthy. Warrior fans should expect 40 games from BD and anything over that is just gravy. I took a chance on him pretty high in Fantasy hoops, so I certainly hope he stays healthy this year. If he does, I think the Warriors will definitely make it into the playoffs as he and Richardson make up probably the best backcourt in basketball.

Oh yeah...and he's already day to day with a hamstring strain. Not exactly a great start.

How old are you again? Or are you really female? Who else picks a team with their uniforms being any part of the equation?
