Yes. I think Uncle Drayton has him locked up with a Personal Services contract when his playing days are over since he lives in Houston. I think it is similar to the deal Drayton has with Nolan Ryan....

Has anyone given thought to how cold it's going to be for the start of the World Series? Gotta think it'll easily dip down in to the 40s towards the end of the game. Not exactly sure who it favors. Probably the Astros seeing that their not as strong offensively.

They should have shortened the season now that they have added the rd of playoffs...but $$$$ talks and common sense walks...

The White Sox bats can get pretty cold as well...

I think its going to be a very good series...I hope.

Didn't it snow in Cleveland in a WS game against the Marlins? :!:

I cannot wait for the World Series to start!

But I think this is one of the best baseball articles I've read in a while even though it's about the White Sox.

If this is indeed true then....... Damn! I didnt know you guys get dissed this much in your own city when it comes to baseball.

Hell yeah! Sox are up 1-0 after winning 5-3 tonight. Both teams had their chances but the pitching won out as expected. Tomorrow night's game should be a classic with Buerhle going against Pettite. It would be awfully nice to be up 2-0 going to Houston with Oswalt on the mound.

So far so good for Pettite and my Stros. What a 5th inning from Andy catching Uribe between 2nd and 3rd on a routine ground out to the mound and then following up with a pick off at first to close the inning. The 6th was a little shaky and im sure he's done for the night but im confident the bullpen can close the deal.

Barring a meltdown we're heading south all square at 1-1.

I was hoping for one good thing to come from Chicago hosting a WS--Jeff Tweedy and/or Wilco performing.

Doesn't look like that's going to happen, so the Sox in the Series is as worthless as I imagined it would be. :)

Grandslam...

Although Dye should never of had first, it was clearly off the barrel of his bat.

The Astros are playing a step behind. Even when they've had the lead you can feel they never are in control of the game.

They better get their act together in Houston or this is going to be a sweep. They're playing like they're happy to be there instead of trying to win. They all look like they are in awe of the World Series.

Bad break on the Dye call but breaks happen all the time in baseball and its up to the team to take advantage of the breaks. First of all it should have never gotten to Dye up there and Qualls shouldn't have grooved one up for Konerko.

This reminds me a lot of the first 2 games of the NLCS last year. Astros just couldn't get it done on the road and lets hope they can muster out some wins at home.

Konerko made himself some extra cash with that slam. He's really hitting the ball well.

It is amazing to see the number of calls going the Sox way.

I wish I could disagree with you...although chokers is the wrong term. Disappointment is more like it. It's hard to choke when you aren't favored isn't it? The Braves were favored twice in the World Series...once against the Indians in 95 and in 96 against the Yanks. At least they cashed one of them in.

That certainly was a hellova slide but it was made possible by that horrible throw by Pods. Man, 10 feet up the first base line...AJ had no chance. He should have been nailed seeing as how Podsednik had the ball before Burke even reached 3rd. Wow...

I still think the Astros have a good shot at winning the series. I think it will hinge on Game 5.

The biSOXual fans go nuts, and Lidge's psyche drops lower and lower. Here's hoping the hotel the Astros are staying in has padded walls.

Astros will win game 3 behind Oswalt. He's in the zone.

That's true. I think they'll win game 3 but after that it does not look good. WhiteSox hitting and pitching is just so overpowering. They kill you on offense the worst way, getting hits when they count.
