OT: Advice on buying a dish

No Jack, I meant an hour at the most and that only happens VERY seldom. That´s not even a constant loss, just in and out. Yes, usually it just a few minutes of in and out and garbled signal.

I just assumed a snowstorm would knock it out. We had a snow storm last winter at about *gasp* 8 inches or so and I can´t remember if it went out or not. If not, I guess you are good to go.

Livin in Minnesota, never had satellite go out during snow storm. Only thunderstorms, and the outage never lasted long.

Boys:

You´re going to lose cable in a heavy electrical storm due to wind or power outage, so I´m not too worried about weather-related outages.

When the weather is really shitty, I avoid using all electronic devices to avoid surges during electrical storms.

Snow? Well, I´ll deal with that. Lord knows, we get an average of 115 inches per year yet you still see a lot of dishes up here, so I don´t think snow is a major problem.

Thanks again for the tips!

Take care,
PK
