OT: Need some website input

I´m trying to improve the look of my site and was hoping for some input from you all.
 
 I have two examples I can´t decide between. The overall look is the same in both but the banners are different. Which looks better?

Scoop:
 
 I like the first one because of the logo, and the look is better.
 
 But I would make one change: Increase the size of the font for the site name and decrease the size for the "Your Home for Sports and Sports Videogames" subhead.
 
 The subhead captures your attention more than the Scoop on Sports head, when in fact the opposite should occur.

I agree with PK...I like the first one better, but the sizing does appear to be off.

 You might want to center the smaller type below the title though...it´s off-center.

Thanks for the input guys. I was surprised that everyone I asked (here and elsewhere) all chose number 1. I went with number 1 and the new look is now live. Now I just have to find time to add new content. <IMG SRC="images/forum/icons/icon_frown.gif"> <IMG SRC="images/forum/icons/icon24.gif">
