Holy crap...Meteos...

Post by maddoc1979 »

...is digital crack. One of my friends had it in his DS and I happened to pick it up...next thing I know, it's about an hour later and I'm totally oblivious to what been going on around me. Anyone with a DS needs to pick this up. I think it's made by the same team that made Lumines on the PSP. I think with the price drop and the nice line up out this fall, I might end up with a DS this Christmas. Just TONS of fun...

IMO, Meteos is probably the best title currently available for the DS. I was addicted to it for a solid 3-4 weeks after I picked it up, and I still have yet to unlock all of the planets and goodies yet. It is just plain fun, and has a ton of replay value. I know that the DS isn't very big around here, but for those of you that have one, you should pick up Meteos.

I love the little I have played of it at the store. Still have not picked it up though...not sure why.

I have been playing Electroplankton and Kirby quite a bit.

I must say that the developers for the DS keep pumping out niche title after niche title. Those who really want to enjoy their DS and play original style games seem to be getting exactly what they wanted out of it.

I think it's true that the system offers a completely unique way of playing than the other systems so Nintendo actually made their goal. Whether or not they'll be able to economically continue this sort of success is what kind of scares me.

The thing about Nintendo is that a system like the DS is made to be economically stable from day 1, no losses to take up front like Sony and MS (or in XBox 1's case, losses on every unit ever sold).

Read an interesting take on them over the weekend, but I don't have the link. It centered on Sony and MS moving hardware to a zero profit business, which Nintendo is not interested in doing. So they will make the compromises they see fit.

So, c'mon boys....who's picking up Nintendogs tomorrow? There's gotta be at least one purchasing this puppy simulator. Who's it gonna be?

Sadly, I will be picking up a DS and Nintendogs. With an eight-year-old daughter, I'm helpless. I'm considering trading in two my Gameboy SP's for it. Anyone interested in one?

Dan, I was thinking the same thing. I've been trying to keep my wife from seeing that game--I can totally see her getting hooked on it.

It is an interesting-looking game, it will be interesting to see how it does.

Already have it pre-ordered for my girlfriends 7 year old daughter. Although it will be a tad bit less intriguing to her now that we have our own, real life boxer puppy.

Picked up Nintendogs & Advance Wars at lunch today. Can't wait to try both of them out after work.

I played with the Nintendogs a few weeks ago at an ebgames kiosk and from the few minutes I played around with it I enjoyed it. It will be a great purchase for anyone that has kids, hell I was tempted to buy a DS for myself after seeing how well it worked with the touch screen.

Don't know if it's an error in their system, but gamecrazy has the silver DS priced at $109 right now...not bad for those of you guys thinking of picking one up.
