Holy crap...Meteos...
...is digital crack. One of my friends had it in his DS and I happened to pick it up...next thing I know, it's about an hour later and I'm totally oblivious to what been going on around me. Anyone with a DS needs to pick this up. I think it's made by the same team that made Lumines on the PSP. I think with the price drop and the nice line up out this fall, I might end up with a DS this Christmas. Just TONS of fun...

IMO, Meteos is probably the best title currently available for the DS. I was addicted to it for a solid 3-4 weeks after I picked it up, and I still have yet to unlock all of the planets and goodies yet. It is just plain fun, and has a ton of replay value. I know that the DS isn't very big around here, but for those of you that have one, you should pick up Meteos.

I must say that the developers for the DS keep pumping out niche title after niche title. Those who really want to enjoy their DS and play original style games seem to be getting exactly what they wanted out of it.
I think it's true that the system offers a completely unique way of playing than the other systems so Nintendo actually made their goal. Whether or not they'll be able to economically continue this sort of success is what kind of scares me.

The thing about Nintendo is that a system like the DS is made to be economically stable from day 1, no losses to take up front like Sony and MS (or in XBox 1's case, losses on every unit ever sold).Airdog wrote:I think it's true that the system offers a completely unique way of playing than the other systems so Nintendo actually made their goal. Read an interesting take on them over the weekend, but I don't have the link. It centered on Sony and MS moving hardware to a zero profit business, which Nintendo is not interested in doing. So they will make the compromises they see fit.
