Anyone have some descent NFL 2K5 rosters for 2005?

Post by bdoughty »

I have found a few that are updated to the start of camps but they are from people who are tweaking the players ratings in an effort to make a better game. I am just looking for players ratings from the end of 2004 with rookies added.

I was just about to start a thread of my own about this. I took the NoPlace rosters from OS and tweaked them. here's a list of what I changed:

- I used Finns editor to undo all of the global edits he made.
- Added photos to all of the non-OL that are rated over 70. Keep in mind these are simply other players pictures reassigned, but I tried to find a scrub that looked close. As an example, Alex Smith has Tim Couch's photo. I can't stand the "No Photo Available" look.
- Changed Vick's scramble from 0 to 98. I think the guy changed this by mistake.
- Changed a few guys to this yers levels. For example, Stephen Davis is not an 89 this year, so I reduced him to an 81. I did this for a couple of dozens players based on last year's performance and player evaluations from Pro Football Weekly. Nothing drastic, just bring some guys up and others down.

I tested these in franchise and they work fine, no freezing. I'll post them somewhere once I'm done, which will be soon. BTW, the rosters are great as far as transactions and depth charts. NoPlace did a great job on these. I just do not agree with massive ratings changes as a way to "fix" things in the game.

I really would apprecaite it if you could post it and thanks for taking the time to do the edits. I downloaded that noplace roster set and CGO's (forget the names)? and they both had all the players attribues edited like crazy. Some quesitonable 0's and they had certain ratings the same for every player. Plus all the teams were high 80's or low 90's and there was little difference between the best teams and the worst.

Do you remember any other player like Vick, where a certain attriubute was 0?

I tried both sets before editing. Some people swear by them, but I think if you mess too much with the ratings, you'll fix one problem only to cause another. I think that GCO guy is WAY over analyizing things. I'm so glad I found out that Finns editor lets you change these back based on another roster. Making every LB a 75 in tackling just didn't seem right.

I'llmake sure to post it, or at least send you a copy. I should be done with them before the weekend.

I can't remember which guy did it but one of them had every DB set to 0 or 1 on catching? The default for a DB is usually between 10 to 30 from the few I looked at.

Like you said I think they are trying to fix things drastically which only lead into to screwing up two more things.

Anyone who wants these, send me a PM and I'll email them to you. I undid all of the global edits, everyone over 70 has a photo, and I adjusted a coulpe dozen players ratings to reflect this year.

They work in franchise mode, but it seems only when the rosters are loaded from the memory card. Everytime I try it from the hard drive, it locks up at various points of the draft. It could be my Xbox (Thompson drive model), because it has been doing some odd things from time to time.

Thanks for the time and effort putting the rosters together. You are a good man Charlie Brown.

No prob. Madden almost had me, but I'm putting it up on Ebay tonight. It just didn't do it for me.

I just finished up my roster file today. I created the rookies using Noplace's rookie ratings...there is a few i did not create to leave room for upcoming rookies like Bush, Leinhart, Ginn jr., etc.. There have been no global edits on this roster as i feel the same way...it always screws something else up. A few players i did edit a bit according to depth charts, such as bumping Jim Sorgi up a little higher than Travis Brown.

I also added pics for most every player in the league, loads of number and position changes. All done from the teams web sites.

I would upload the roster here, but have no clue how thats done. Unfortunately i'm not even sure how to email it. If anyone's interested, just let me know how.

p.s. I've also simmed through a few seasons and have had no freezes.

So.............

Any updates on any of these rosters?

Matthewk, I'd like to try yours out if I could. I also do not like the "Global edits" stuff.

Dreaded, are your final rosters finished yet?

Thanks in advance guys. :)

I've got what I guess you could call version 1.1. I changed some of the rookies global ratings from NoPlaces original, like the 99 AGGR for CBs. I just made them all 24 instead. If I have time this weekend I may go over the rookies and change some of these so they are not all the same.

NoPlace did mention over at OS that he's making a version without all the global edits. I think he's got someone doing photos for it, but I'm not sure. I may just stick with tweaking mine since I changed some veterans up/down overall.

If you want a copy, send me a PM with your email. I still don't have a page set up for these.
