WoW Players: I did a bad, bad thing

Post by RobVarak »

So I'm sleepily grinding my way through the last few xp to lvl 41. Trotting through IF on a quick AH check, I recall that I've been meaning to jettison Blacksmithing, which I haven't levelled in months, in favor of skinning...just for fun. So I find the skinning trainer and delete Smithing...kind of. I inadvertently deleted my bread and butter profession of mining, which I've levelled up to 205!!! 8O

Needless to say, I've suffered a series of small strokes tonight. I dispatched a help slip to the GM's, which has been closed but with no response whatsoever. Anyone have any ideas what will happen, or about what I should do. Other than jumping off the dam into Loch Modan I mean.

(edit)

I've received a reply from Blizzard that I am SOL. No restore for lost profession points... SH*T. When I think of how many damn nodes I've mined over the last 6 months...

Anyway, does anyone have any tips for a way to ramp up my mining skill to acceptable levels fast? It's either that or roll a horde alt and start from scratch LOL

It's very possible that they may restore your skill level, especially if their logs show what level it was. I had a friend that accidentally destroyed a Glowing Brightwood Staff and they put one back in his inventory after they checked and confirmed he did indeed have one.

Keep the faith!

not sure how many UI mods you use, but this is one I found and should help out a lot with getting your mining back up to where it was before.

http://norgs.internutter.org/gatherer.htm - UI Mod
http://gather.reet.org/ - Info File

Basically it will display on the mini-map and full screen map the location of the Ore nodes. You wont be able to tell if there is ore there till you get in range, but it gives you hotspots you can run back and forth to. Surprising how some areas have no ore at all.

Hope this helps

Rob, last week I ditched skinning/leatherworking(250 level) for mining/blacksmithing and in only a few hours I had mining up around 100.

I mined in the area around Ironforge....go to the expedition area, six nodes, by the time you get all 6, they respawn.

That's exactly what I did last night. Man those lvl 15's get pissed when they see my Lvl 41 Pally beat them to a node on his warhorse :)

Nole, I'm going to d/l those right now. Very nice. Thx.

Db, I have to admit that every time I speak WoW I get a little self-conscious. But I also lay it on extra thick around here knowing it will freak you out LOL

Update: Got up to 40 last night. Not bad, but frustrating when compared with how fast you can level skinning.

Above is Jukaar's Complete Guide to Mining...helpful perhaps.

They definitely will not restore your mining points so you will have to start over. I know, that sucks @ss.
