Hell, you didn't have to make a special post to say that. It was apparent when you decided to break out the broom after a pivotal three game sweep against a team that hasn't had a winning season in 12 years. All that just because I had the audacity to point out that there is still a lot of season left.
Wow, the days of having fun when your team is doing well are gone.

How's this?

"Ho hum we beat the Sox two games so far, I feel bad for them though."

Maybe you were pointing your remarks at Jayhawker, but how can you say your feelings towards Cardinals fans changed because we're giddy about a possible sweep of the Red Sox?

C'mon Leebo.. you're not that shallow.

My feelings didn't change for the post about getting giddy about sweeping the Boston, although it seems kind of silly IMO. If the Steelers beat New England next year in the regular season I'll be happy but not giddy.

My feelings change when Cardinals fans brag about having the division wrapped up in May, sarcastically wish another fan's team good luck when they are playing the Cards that night, post a picture of a broom after a series in May against a sub-.500 team when the fan did nothing to provoke it, kissing the Cubs goodbye every year, piling on Astros fans, etc.

I'm all for having fun, but not at other people's expense.

For the record, I would like to apologize to the baseball gods for my statement about the Rockies winning four in a row. I did not expect such horrible retribution so quickly. I believe Clint Barmes fell down those stairs within a minute of me posting. I'm sorry Clint, I'm sorry Rockies fans everywhere.

That sucks. I've enjoyed watching Barmes this year on MLB EI every now and again.

I dont understand that either, giddy? about an interleauge series?
I know the bosox probably don't give a sh1t since THEY SWEPT THE CARDINALS IN THE WORLD SERIES LAST YEAR! Maybe you should have your team concentrate on winning games that actually mean something, like World Series games, rather than a circus interleauge game in June. Did Selig change the rules where if you sweep the redsox you get the World Series from last year back? Thats what it sounds like from all you bandwagon cardinals fans. Maybe sportdan is the only real card fan on this board.

Oh, no no, Mr. Astro Fan rooting for the Cubs. You don't get off that easy. This all started when Dan counted his chickens to early for you.

Also, I wouldn't mind seeing them skip a start here and there for Mulder, Marquis, and Morris. Those guys have a little bit of a history of wearing down at the end of the year.

Btw, Brad Thompson is looking sharp in the bullpen. That a way big boy!

We need our guys fresh for a strong playoff run.

but lets see what happens when the cubs get their guys back and the brewers look like they'll be hanging around if they make a few moves. Cards probably still are the favorites for the division, but the games I've seen them play vs other winning teams outside the division doesn't bode well right now. But ya it's May so it's early, but anything can happen. It's baseball, dont count your chickens before they hatch.

Do you know anything about baseball? Maybe we'll skip the whole season and wait for the playoffs. Can't you enjoy a WHOLE season of a sport instead of just the Championship?

Maybe you should get your facts straight instead of jumping in on other people's conversations. I don't need to explain anything to you, but I've lived here my whole life except for 4 years in the military.. watched Cardinals football and baseball for years. Bandwagon? Where in the hell do you get off calling anyone a bandwagon fan? GIDDY, HAPPY, EXCITED, SATISFIED.. does it really matter that much to you what word I use when we win a great series of baseball?

Turn your friggin TV back on in October since that's the only time you give a s*** about baseball.

Oh yeah, it's hard to watch a team that's in the cellar.

Seriously, the Cardinal fans haven't done anything to provoke the crap started by HouOilers. We just noticed that our team was playing great, and noticed that the NL Central had seemed to fold.

HouOilers has then taken every opportunity to tweak Cardinal fans ever since. Be mad at me, because I have taken the time to call BS on most of his asinine "arguments". But the rest of the guys here haven't done anything that should have caused Leebo to become a crybaby over the supposed Redbird "arrogance".

Pile away on me, but you should really get your facts straight, because I won't let you make up stuff just so you can feel better about yourself. The reason I take the time to point out the current pace is precisely so you can point it out back to me if they fail. THAT'S the point. I'm giving you plenty of ammo to use, if I'm wrong.

Jeez, it seems like the board has slipped back into the diaper stage.

Please go back and read the thread again. I think you missed the broom pic and it wasn't posted by HouOilers. I said nothing bad about the cards or their fans at all and got greated by a broom after the Pirates got swept. That seems like arrogance to me and rubbing salt in a wound for no reason.

I think he was trying to tag me, since I am a Chiefs and Kansas Jayhawks fan. He assumes I moved to St. Louis and just became a Cardinal fan.

The truth is, I was born in St. Louis, and was a die-hard Cardinal fan from birth. I moved to KC when I was 14, and shoot me if I gave up on Bidwell and the f***in Football Cardinals when I did.

My first autograph was from Lou Brock, and I even wore that ridiculous Brocca-Brella while drinking Brocca-Pop. I was at game six of that infamous '85 World Series in KC in my Cardinal Red.

I'm as far from the opposite of a bandwagon fan as you can get.

crap what crap? Everyone in the world knows it's foolish to think you've wrapped your division up in the first month! I don't think I've posted anything offensive here, have i? I just described some as bandwagon jumpers, not anyone in particular. I think the other non-cardinal fans , baseball fans, are in agreement that its not smart to say you've wrapped up the season in may, even if you're 20 games ahead. As for Cardinal hating, I never hated the Cards until I read the cardinal frontrunners on this board. Just reading these arrogant comments wants me to see the cards tank, that would be very satisfying. the other card fans I know are good fans with a high baseball IQ. Some of you on here, well I can't really say that.

But the point is this thread is about the cardinals. Nobody posted here that the astros, cubs, braves, redsox, whitesox, dodgers, pirates were going to win this many games and had the division clinched in May. You guys put this upon yourself. If you can't take the backlash then don't make foolish posts.

I will make a truce and not replyback to this thread until october when it's all said and done if thats the way you guys want it.

After that post, you poked fun at me about the Boston series and then all seemed well. If that pic of a broom ticked you off that much, I take it back. Seriously, I have nothing against the Pirates.. heck they've beaten us plenty in the past. After that grueling World Series, I thought that picture would get some laughs.

Oh well...

Yeah, that was really insensitve. Send a memo to Bud Selig, and he can have brooms banned from all stadiums. It's really going too far to rub salt into the wounds like that.

Of course, you zinged him back pretty good, and he didn't cry about it, but acknowledged the "burn". You made a self depreciating comment with a smile and all seemed well. Looks like the broom wasn't that big a deal after all.

So what are you crying about?

Why? Why is it not smart? Because I might be wrong? I can live with that.

Quit pussyfooting around and name names you big baby. Who are the dumb Cardinal fans? Who are the bandwagon jumpers? You don't name them, because you can't back up your accusations.

I don't really care when you post. If you post something I disagree with, I figured it was ok to point out the flaws. If you can't handle it, then stop posting stupid things.

I've been posting here awhile and I don't think I've ever come across anyone quite as abrasive as you. It's a shame that a decent poster like Kazuya was been banned while you roam free. There is no real reason to be that sarcastic towards me. I really have no beef with you.

I made the statement:

"I've always heard great things about the Cardinals' fans and how great it is to see a game in STL even as a visiting fan. I certainly don't get that feeling by reading this board. I didn't know Cardinals' fans were so arrogant. It's actually changed the way I view the Cards."

I made this directly after reading, "Just an update for all of you new Cub fans (ie: Cardinal haters), the Cardinals are now on a pace for 106 wins and the Cubs still suck" and "It's time to sweep the Bosox and get them the f* out of St. Louis." (I know there is a smiley there, but still...)

How is that statement "crying." I'm not upset with Todd's broom post or Tim's apparent unwillingness to realize that considering your playoff opponents in May is the definition of counting chickens before they hatch. It's just the cumulative effect of all those things along with your posts. It has changed the way I view the Cards. They were a team I would probably have rooted for against most teams, but now I can't wait for them to lose. It's just an observation. If you think it's crying so be it.

I'm fine with Todd and the broom post. I only brought it up because you said Cardinal fans did nothing to provoke the crap. I'm not mad or upset with him. I can be cool with the post and the banter back and forth but still now want the Cards to lose.

Congratulations. You are breeding even more "Cardinal Haters."

LOL. I was just bored at work today

I truly don't think all Cardinals' fans are arrogant, although I will indeed be rooting against them.

I'm not upset with anyone and I apologize if I upset anyone. I guess the tough NL Central rivalries got the best of me...LOL.
