Q: I understand you want to balance both of those, but what are the tradeoffs of doing that?
We're certainly going to have games for the launch of the PS3, but we don't have any games for the launch of the Xbox 360.
Q: Why?
[It's a] pretty small install base. To really maximize, to get the performance out of some of the games, it's going to take some time to do that. And we want to make sure we're launching high-quality titles.
Yes one thing Midway is known for are all the HIGH-Quality titles they produce.
They're not saying they won't do X360 games, just not have them ready in time for launch.
Midway licensed the Unreal Engine 3 so they will have the technology to put out graphically competitive games. If they spend to develop the art and engineering resources.
But I think they're also going to publish UT2007 or one of the Unreal games.
I thought they did a pretty good job using Renderware on NBA Ballers. Not the best-looking game but not the worst. Same with the last couple of Mortal Kombat games.
Factor 5 made the Rogue Squadron games and their president made noises about how the PS3 will be more powerful. But that company has become a second-party developer and Sony will be publishing their game(s). So this could be a case of Lorne Lanning.
It's really more of a loss for Nintendo than for Microsoft in this case.
LucasArts haven't announced any next-gen games. They probably will when Nintendo shows the real details on the Revolution.
Yea, there are a lot more ps3's out there than 360's...
This comment makes no sense. Obviously they didn't rule out ever developing for the 360, just not going to have a launch title ready.
Probably not going to be a big deal either way as Midway doesn't produce anything that is a system seller. I thought they were supposed to publish some of the stuff that Epic was turning out though?
Well, to be fair they did release Unreal Championship 2:The Liandri Conflict and that game is fantastic. But I don't give Midway credit for anything other than signing Epic. When I think back to recent launch games from Midway all I can think of are Blitz, Hydro Thunder, and Ready 2 Rumble for DC. BFD.
I am a patient boy.
I wait, I wait, I wait, I wait.
My time is water down a drain.
For some reason I had thought that Midway had folded.
Then the other day I drove by a bldg in Chicago on California ave between Addison and Belmont and it had the Midway logo on it.
So who am I confusing them with?
Didnt someone just go under recently?

Maybe you're thinking of Akklaim?
