OT: My Public Apology

Post by dbdynsty25 »

Everyone,

I just want to apologize to everyone on the board for my behavior lately. As I look back on the past 6 months or so, I find myself wondering why I keep arguing with so many different posters on this board. Obviously, I am the common thread (no pun intended) and I can definitely understand why you all get frustrated with me. Seriously...I apologize to everyone. I know it's not fun reading a Sports Gaming Board and constantly having to wade through my bullsh*t to get to some legit information and for that I'm truely sorry.

I'm the type of guy that doesn't get all emotional, and I don't explain myself enough when I start posting hurtful and mean things. I really need to start thinking before I type...because I know I offend and hurt some of you guys with my postings. There is a lot of stuff going on in my life right now (I'm also not one to make excuses, but here is one anyway), so I tend to take it out on you guys. I really enjoy the playful banter on this board, but sometimes you guys (and I) take it WAY too seriously, and then it gets into those pissing matches that Jared loves so much.

I will try to be the better man from now on and refrain from the back and forth that some of you guys get annoyed with. My personality is really hard to explain and it REALLY doesn't translate well into typed text. Any of you guys who have played online with me, know I'm not a complete prick (just kind of one).

I hope you all can forgive me and give me a 'fresh' start as I will try to do the same for everyone that I might not be the biggest fan of.

Obviously, I'm opening myself up for a ton of sh*t and I'm cool with it. I just want you guys to know I value all of your opinions and I will continue to do so as we go forward.

I'm guilty of pushing your buttons and for that I apologize. I think we are all very passionate about our gaming and that shows when all of us post.

db, you're one of the most vocal dudes here, but you're also one of the most knowledgeable...especially for a young dude.

For the most part, you certainly bring more to the board than you take away from it. Your advice on mp3 players has been invaluable to me and I appreciate it a lot.

I don't think I've ever really had a disagreement with you that got personal, but I do really appreciate your apology as I have noticed an increase in hostility lately.

DB:

Large of you, man. Hope everything gets worked out on the home front, and glad you're a part of DSP.

Take care,
PK

Can I take over for you now or was this written after too many New Castles?

It's all good DB. I thought your sarcasm and straightforward-ness provided a nice balance here, but I can see where you might think it got a bit overboard...almost like a schtick.

Hope things get better for you persoanlly! Feel free to take some sh*t out on me if you need to. :)

No I don't.

And no Spooky, it wasn't after too many Newcastles...although that does sound good right now (even though it's 7am).

Then he's gone. (When all of his posts are attempts at calling you out, then he's just a troll that doesn't belong here.)

DB, f*** you, you lousy fantasy baseball cheatin', TV show hatin', gadget buyin' thread Nazi! :D

Seriously, no worries. None of us should take things too seriously here.

One of the great things about DSP is that it allows me to blow off steam in ways I never could in real life. I always keep that in mind when I'm reading posts from everybody else.

I hope you get things cleared up in the real world.

What a timely post db. Your Suns are down 0-2 and you come out w/ a thread that gets all the attention off of your team.

J/K bro, hopefully things work out for you on the personal side of life. Sometimes it's just easier to blow off steam on a message board. I can totally relate, although I just don't follow through with it.

Join me and route for the Pistons and you'll be fine.

I know we haven't always seen eye to eye on things and there's been times where hearing what you said rather than reading it would have meant all the difference in the world but we've always worked things out in the end. Sorry to hear that you're going through some tough sh!t. Most of us here have so at least take comfort in knowing you'll get through it and still be a DSP dork like the rest of us  .

People always say that it's just a message board but I don't buy into that sh!t. With most of us on Live and the fact that some of us have met each other in person it seems like more than just a board here. I've been guilty of getting personal in the past and I certainly don't want to go down that road again. That whole camera thing with Leebo comes to mind and I felt terrible after that.

Hopefully this thread will bring some peace to this board since it seems like we've all been PMSing lately.

Nicely written, db.

We'll argue over sports games, or any game for that matter.. but it's nice to know most of us are just game fanatics and not people haters.

I love the game discussion that goes on here and I hope that never changes.

Maybe you could purchase and send some of your DSP brothers some $400 cell phones as restitution.

Very coming of age of you Scott. It's not easy to lay it all out there whether it be to family or friends or us bozos here on the net. But, that was cool of you to at least recognize the error of your ways.

It's strange, because of the couple times you and I have played online together, you were one of the coolest cats out there. It was like Jeckyl and Hyde when you would post on here. I'd be like, "Wow, that's not really Db saying that, is it?" But I got used to your personality on here, so I made an attempt to shy away from being attacked for something stupid I might have posted or said.

I think all of us have made some bad judgements in the past or wish we could maybe take back something that we said. 95% of your posts are hilarious and don't offend me in the least, but there comes a time when enough is a enough and you've owned up to that. It's real easy to get bored at work or be pissed at life for whatever reason, and take it out on someone when really it was meant to be humorous or just plain sarcastic. Either way, looking forward to the newer and gentler Db.

Hope personally things turn around for you. To borrow from Pk, take care.

Hey, DB isn't the only Jekyll and Hyde when it comes to posting and gaming. I'm guilty, too, in a different way: I hope I sound halfway reasoned and intelligent when I post, but I'm usually damn close to incoherent when playing online on XBL with you cats. :)

Take care,
PK
