Burnout 3 $19.99 at Target

Post by Inuyasha »

Not sure if this was posted, but BO3 is only 20 bucks at target. They still list it as $39.99 but when it rings up, it comes up $19.99.

I just bought one and do you guys still do BO3 racing nights on XBL?

I don't know how I missed out on this game when it was first released, but I love it now. I rented Forza last weekend and just couldn't get into it, as is the case with almost all racing games that I play. I thought I'd try an arcade racer this week, so I rented Burnout 3 since I remembered that people really liked it. I'm floored by how much fun this game is. It has to be one of the most addictive games I've ever played. I've had some races that I've had to try over and over at least a dozen times, yet every single attempt is a blast, it doesn't even matter if I fail. This is the type of game that reminds me of just why I love to play videogames.

Agreed. One my favorites. I'll look to catch you online sometime with it, Hip.

Better late than ever.

Some of us have raved about BO3 since it came out.

Plus, it was without a doubt, the most fun I've had online with any racer.

Finishing the World Tour(all golds) took me quite a bit and was fun all the way.

back cover of (july issue 202) gamepro now advertises bo3 as "greatest hits" (os2) and "platinum hits" (xbox). it should be $19.99 everywhere.

Certainly a game I regret trading it. For $20, I'll definitely pick it up again.

I'm still not buying EA games, so I won't be picking BO3 up, but I just looked at BO2, and it is a pre-EA game! Cool!

Why do you think it is better?

Yeah, you really gonna have to explain that to me.

Lets see...

More cars, World Tour Mode, multiple burnouts, Online Play and better graphics.

Burnout 3 is flat out better and deeper than the first 2 titles combined, wich btw I LOVED too.

I dont think the Greatest Hits one is out yet, so at some stores it'll still be $39.99. The one at Target I bought is the regular one without the greatest hits banner for $19.99

I played offline and online last night and it was really fun. I too somewhat regret selling this game off when I first had it. It's the kind of game you have to have around in your collection when you run into a dry spell and want a fun pick-up game to play.

If I can find a copy for $19.99 I might just buy it again. Heck, I traded it in for $25. I do miss it.

I played some on XBL this weekend and there were quite a few people playing every time I logged on, I had no problems finding a game. One mode I haven't tried that looks fun is the 4 on 4 team crush, that sounds like it could be great online.

HipE,

You and I have similar taste when it comes to racing games, or shall I say at least this game. For the life of me, I couldn't get into Forza. Not knocking it as I definitely see how it appeals to the vast majority, but BO:3 is definitely my speed. Gonna try and pick this up again at the discounted price and play a little online.

Make that 3 of us. I just sold Forza on Ebay, and part of the proceeds are going to BO3.

Forza is definitely a quality game, but between other games (MVP, SW:Galactic Battlegrounds, etc...) and life I just don't have the time needed to invest into Forza. I'm to the point where I drive every day, and if I'm going to drive in a game it had better be something I can't do on the street, like Burnout or Need For Speed. I don't want to have to always be buying parts and tuning my car, I just want to race fast with cool cars :)

Of course, a year from now when Forza is $20 I'm sure I'll be buying it back.

Forza just wasn't fast enough for me. Maybe it was too sim for my tastes. I was more bored by the game than anything else.

I think what appeals to me most is that you don't have to worry about passing somebody cleanly in this game. I'm not much of a sim racer, and I've probably made more passes by taking people out in turns than I have by passing them cleanly. Anybody who ever played MotoGP with me should be able to understand why Burnout 3 online is right up my alley. A game that actually encourages and rewards you for cornholing your opponents is okay with me.

Could burnout be the sleeper GOTY ? Man the crash scenes are awesome in this game. I lost about 2 hours of sleep last night playing this game. I'm paying for it this morning, but it was well worth it. Last night I kept saying "One more course and then i'm off to bed" But I just couldn't put that dam remote control down. This game is a blast.

State of Emergency wasn't overrated at all. It received horrible scores. It might have been overhyped, but not overrated. And Forza deserves the high scores IMO. :D
