For me personally the days of seeing a movie multiple times are long gone. First I am lucky if I have the time to see a movie period. also the price has somethign to do with it, I saw SW 10 times in the big screen, I seem to recall the early show price being $250 back then. Now days movies are what 8-10 dollars depending on where you live.

So even if I absolutely love a movie (like LOTR:Return of the King) I will only see it once in the theatre and wait for the DVD.

Whoa... that's a bit much in my opinion. Ep. III was definitely good, but Empire Strikes Back is the best movie if you ask me.
I'm sorry I meant to say of the new movies (I II III)

Just got back from the theater. It was good...I really enjoyed it. It still has some slow spots and the dialogue, as always, is the weakest part of the movie. That being said, I thought the actor who played the Senator was easily the best in the movie, though I'll give kudos to Natalie Portman for doing the best she could with the material she was given. Overall, Lucas did a fine job tying up the loose ends and providing explanations for things we see in the next movies in the series.

Someone told me at work today that lucas has signed on for a 100 show series with one of the big four networks. Any one heard of this. They said he will direct the first year and consult on the rest????? Intrigue me this yes.

I've read about that also. Its supposed to cover the period between ROTS & ANH, but not involve any of the major characters

I was kind of hoping to see some of the classic characters, that would be great.

I just saw it, and it was Awesome. :D :D :!: :!:

First of all, I am a big critic of hollywood but this movie proves that sometimes movies can be done right. When you sit down in that theater, and that big STAR WARS logo in that 70s style font goes up, you feel like you're a kid again. That is what the movies should be, and this movie did that for me.

I won't spoil it for anyone, but if you're a movie fan , see the movie. It's more than just star wars, since they finally got back drama that the first 3 movies had. Maybe we should start a spoiler thread?

Yes it is true master :D

When SW:ROTS ends, there's a 20 year gap until SW:A New Hope begins. So the story in the tv series will cover this 20 year period.

I loved it! I actually enjoyed it as much as any of the first three movies. The last hour or so was excellent, there were so many powerful scenes. It was much better than I anticipated, even after reading some of the positive reviews the last couple of days. Like Weaver said, it is the type of movie that makes you remember just how much fun going to the movies can be.

just got back from it eh pretty good

i dont know i felt this whole series was mis cast obi and anakin simply didnt come across with any charisma what so ever the original cast was so much better together and that was before a few of them had big careers...and ewen mcgregor just never came across as the right age...a little makeup doesnt cut it consider 18 years from the end of this episode he becomes alex guiness  ..i actually think he would have made a better anakin...but i guess that just my 8 year old inner child talking...i can vividely remember watching the first one in the summer of 77....on the bright side peter cushings look a like was pretty damn good

now there were definatley some moments that paid off that you heard or read about as a kid that were fun to finally see as a bigger kid come to fruition

funny though being that lords of the ring was one of george lucas inspirations for making/writing this series

and in the end that series surpassed georges own work over the past few years on screen (not the original 3) but imho alot of that was simply better casting...

but for the record yoda still absolutley kicks .@##

thank you jim henson (RIP) for bring to life such a fantastic character this is one instance where CGI enhanced and didnt hurt an original concept

and my son loved the movie

Speaking of TV series, has anyone seen any of the clone wars cartoons? They covered the time between Ep. 2 and 3 and were supposed to be quite good. It originally ran as shorts on cartoon network, but is now available on DVD. I'm planning on seeing if I can rent it sometime.

I have this dvd. pretty cool stuff, animation is probably the only way to really capture what the true power of the Jedi's is supposed to be.

I was never a fan of Ep 1 and Ep 2 but I want to watch them again now. My opinion could change on those 2 movies after Ep 3. They now seem to be more setup movies to Ep3.
