and I'm guilty of it as well.
But by reading this forum lately you'd think the future of gaming is heading right down the shitter.
Then again, maybe that's the case.

Maybe, but I don't remember a better time for video gaming fun in my 25 years of this hobby (started with Pong). A lot of my feeling has to do with the PSP which is the coolest piece of gaming hardware I've ever owned...
- Six holes of PSP Hot Shots golf with my buddy at lunch a few times a week.
- Forza racing in the evenings, with some crazy SOBs
- Lumines as a nightcap
- Rise of Nations on the Mac when I need a strategy fix, with Tropico 2 on my Fathers Day wish list.
- PureSim Baseball for my baseball fix
All good stuff, and even though it looks like our favorite sports games will be feature limited on the XBOX 360, I'm still excited for it's launch... I'm a sucker for toys....

Honestly, E3 can't come at a better time of the year for me. I'm in Indy for nearly the entire month of May, and my attention and free time is diverted almost completely from gaming.
I don't feel the same sense of jaded disappointment about next-gen gaming that some of you do now because I barely know anything that has happened at E3.
There is only one gaming-related thing in my head now: I miss playing Forza with you cats on XBL. Otherwise, gaming barely has been on my radar screen this month. This annual May break from gaming is good for the mind, good for the soul, good for the wallet.
Take care,
PK

Maybe my expectation is really high on the 360/next generation of gaming, but nothing I see is that incredible on the 360, and some of the videos on PS3, while amazing, might be a big BS lie from Sony/EA. And there isn't much for the current systems that I really want (except for Ninja Gaiden Black).
I am disappointed by E3 so far, but that's not to say that I am unhappy with gaming. I had a blast last week playing Phantom Dust (for all you Live subscribers, you must get this game). I don't remember having so much fun with a game for awhile, and I don't even have Live. I am replaying Halo2 1p now, and it is more fun than I remember (heroic difficulty is definitely alot more fun). And just started on Digital Devil Saga, great RPG. And I have not even bought Forza yet...

I think gaming technology is getting better and better. We're going to get far more value for the money we spend on hardware.
Where I think all the agitation and fatigue comes from is the fanboy contentions. This E3 seems pretty unprecedented. Even if Ninendo kept mum, when is the last time 3 next-gen consoles were revealed to the public at one time? Now there wasn't as many details as we'd like, such as price and specific launch games.
But it's pretty jaded that people are picking apart the demos. Of course it's a sign of sophistication and also cynicism about the promises they're making now because of the promises they've made in the past.

Nicely done!!! One of the best 3B in reds history!!!
1. Rose
2. Robinson
3. Buddy Bell
4. Sabo
Not a bad list.
To bad about his back and his cork. My High school coach was his neighbor for a while and said he was a great guy, very down to earth.
I am assuming your a Reds fan to. This has been the toughest year for me since proably 2000, the year they got The Kid coming off the playoff game r vs. the Mets.

I love the Reds. Always have, always will.
Very tough year so far. Kind of hard seeing them turn it around as their pitching is really struggling. Might be time for Gullett to go. He has done a good job, but the last few years, the pitchers have not progressed.
I like the team with Casey and the four outfielders but it might be time to trade Sean or Kearns for some young pitching. Also, Miley needs to decide on a lineup, too much guesswork for the players.
I'll stick with them. Need a few streaks.
Agree with you about Sabo. That '90 team was great. That was a fun ride.

What frustrated me is their bullpen. A few years ago it was one of the top 5 in baseball. There were worn down by starters who could give them no innings. Now, the startes can at lease get them 6 -7 innings, but then enters the smurfs. Where is white, williamson, reidling, and i could go on.
And they spent some money this year on pitching.
Somehow Dunn, Kearns, and a healthy Willy Mo need to be on the field at the same time. Dunn and Mily Mo have 400+ career home run potential, and kearns could end up being a career 300 hitter with 250-275 homeruns and some gold gloves in the field. if everything pans out.h
