I've ran about 6 races so far. I left the AI at default and I won one race, finished 2nd in one race, and 3rd in the rest.
The car handling so far feels real good and not as tough to control as in the demo. The game feels real polished.... from the menus to the garage it just feels like a game that a lot of time and effort went into it.
The graphics are no where near as nice as GT4 in 1080i, but they are serviceable. Parker was right when he said that Rallisport 2 looked better than this. Maybe it's low poly count or something, but the cars just don't look as sharp as in quite a few other racing games. If you're buying this expecting to be blown away by the graphics, you won't be.
I like the fact that there are no licenses (that I've seen). I always hated the GT series for making virtually half of the game inaccessible to me because I never could get the A and A international licenses.
Xbox Live is seamless. As soon as you finish a race, the top 3 times from Xbox Live are posted and then your rank as well. Even in the career menu, there is an option to race career races online. I haven't raced online yet, but I plan to in a few minutes.
The game does feel good, but I'll be honest...I haven't gotten that WOW factor I got like when I played TOCA 2 for the first time. Maybe some more time with it will blow me away, but nevertheless, it is a very solid title.
Went in to work this morning at 4 AM just so I could get out early and pick this up. how fuggin sick is that?
Anyway......
I've created my profile, selected my location as Europe to start out my Career, purchased my Audi and have raced my first three races.
One comparison and one comparison only to GT4. No, this game does not look as good as GT4. It looks very good, but GT4 outshines it in the visuals department.
Now, I've got to tell you so far this is going to get at A LOT of play around here.
Career mode has somewhat of a RPG element into it as you gain levels based on your performance etc. One thing I really love about the game is that you get deducted money from your winnings based on how much damage you do to your car or how much you drive off of the track.
I left the assists on to start and can tell that I'm going to need to turn them off after a bit as it is clear that they controls are too forgiving out of the box.
AI cars are at times very aggressive and will bump you and at other times you can see them let off the gas and get in line if they don't get the pass before a narrow part of the track or tight turn comes is coming up.
More detailed impressions as I get more stick time, but right now I don't think PK and the others that are quite fired up for this have anything to worry about.
Does it match PK's hype and excitement level? s***, a night in the sack with Tiffany Thiessen doesn't match that... it's just not possible. He'll be happy though.

Tiffany Thiessen.....what I wouldn't give for 10 minutes with her!
I raced three races at lunch too, but turned off all the assists. My first race was with a Class D car. My wheels never left the track, and I came in first place. My next two races were with Class C cars. I was all over the place, coming in 8th and in 4th place. There was quite a difference in the handling between the 3 vehicles I drove. I like that.
One thing that is certainly worth mentioning is the AI. In my 3 shorts races thus far, I've seen the AI do alot of different things. Some cars have tried to run me off the road, some have slowed down to avoid hitting me, and I've seen AI cars battling with each other to get position. Looks like a very good mix. Also, the couple times I did get hit from behind, I was not given any lap penalty.
Boom is correct in that GT4 does look better than Forza. However, Forza certainly isn't sore on the eyes either.
Hard to gauge a feel of a game after 3 races, but I really like what I've seen thus far.
I don't watch racing and don't know a gearbox from a whatever else there is.
I'm digging the game. I like Toca better, but its probably because I'm having to start out with these cars that only get up to 80 or so mph. I'm sure once I move up, I'll have a blast. Online career is pretty cool, racing with your buds, but I'm preferring the offline career. Haven't tried just a random room of guys racing for the heck of it yet.
I just got back from lunch with my copy of Forza. Thanks to Frys I was able to get it for $34.99. If I could #$@% a store I think Frys would be my first choice. I won't be able to play it until my wife and daughter go to bed though so I'm in for a long evening.
I am a patient boy.
I wait, I wait, I wait, I wait.
My time is water down a drain.

Fastlane was the one I was thinking of. Damn, miss that show. Never heard of Good Morning Miami though.
Good Morning Miami was a really bad NBC sitcom. I think they tried plugging that between Friends and Will and Grace for about 3 weeks before they gave up.
Back to Forza, anybody notice an area for Downloadable Content?

Oh, same here. Coffee at 11 tonight, man!
Take care,
