WTF!!!

Have you guys seen Sheffield's batting stance in MLB??? He does not wave the bat that badly. It's so freakin annoying.

Well guys, I'm back on the bandwagon again. Even before the dismal impressions of MVP, I re-rented MLB from Blockbuster the other day. Believe it or not, I'm enjoying the heck out of it. Now, I've only played a couple games, but making a few minor tweaks has me really excited about this title.

I've switched from the meter pitching to classic. I've all but eliminated wild pitches. Not completely, but close.

I took a suggestion that someone had mentioned on here in regards to hitting. I'm using the "catcher" point of view for batting. I used to flail away at an abundance of pitches out of the strike zone. Now, I lay off balls that even have the remote chance of being outside. I only swing if it seems to be coming down the middle of the plate. More times than, I work the count in my favor. The result: less strikeouts.

I've turned down the pitch speed for the CPU but I might have to up it a little. I had 15 hits and 13 runs in my first game of the season playing on veteran mode.

Arm strength is all the way down and this has resulted in doubles and even a triple that didn't get scored correctly. Not a big deal though.

Turned down arm accuracy a few notches and I definitely see offline throws.

Turned up error frequency a couple notches and this has resulted in bobbles and errant throws.

With these changes, the game doesn't feel so static now.

Going to play a few more games this weekend to determine if this game will keep me coming back for more. Sure liking what I see so far.

Patience, is the key in this game. If the CPU is 2 strikes on you, the next pitch is almost certainly a ball, so don't swing at it. As most people say, the catchers's view does make one judge the upcoming ball better too.
