Dragons, check your emails for a technical test code.
Re: NHL 22
My network speeds are garbage where we're renting this week, but I'm downloading now. Will probably be available for matches tonight, although with the team's work schedules we may only be able to play for a short while.
I'll check here if you guys want to update me on plans/times.

Re: NHL 22
No worries G7. Let’s try it out whenever everyone can get on board. I can’t get home for another 3 hours. I suggest the usual time XXXIV, so let’s see how many games we can squeeze by.GameSeven wrote: ↑Mon Aug 30, 2021 3:33 pmMy network speeds are garbage where we're renting this week, but I'm downloading now. Ain't no way I'm making it that late with work the next morning. I entered the code but don't even see it anywhere in my active downloads or owned games so I probably won't even get to try it tonight at all.10spro wrote: ↑Mon Aug 30, 2021 4:43 pmNo worries G7. That’s weird Vader. I guess keep trying. I thought you got the whole week off.
I think I can make it 30 minutes earlier than the weekend time if that helps anyone.

I got mine and downloaded it. Does it start tonight (8/30)?

Just played a Pro Am game. Graphics are crisper but not mind blowing. Population in an EASHL drop in was low and I didn’t get in.

Finally got it to download and created the Dragons, when I try to send an invite the screen freezes up and have to restart the game from the dashboard.

Dragons, the 10 hours trial should kick in today if I am correct. Let’s start tonight. Halifax…

This guy that I follow on Twitch was saying that the EASHL disconnects should be patched today, so here’’s hoping for better luck next weekend Dragons…

Re: NHL 22
I'm enjoying this game single player with Sim settings.
Finally, FINALLY EA got the poke check right with NHL 22. In prior editions, either the poke check was ineffective, too effective or resulted in constant tripping penalties. Works just right this year.
Also happy to see that cycling the puck is a realistic and rewarded strategy for human players against the CPU for the first time. Also for the first time, the CPU offense in your end doesn't move a step or two faster than your computer-controlled players in the CPU end. I can use a disciplined defensive setup to break up rushes and cycling by the CPU without feeling like a dog constantly chasing its tail.
My only beef so far is that the CPU is far too accurate with its passes, especially in neutral zone traffic, and that the CPU's forecheck is far too aggressive and effective for all teams. The former can be fixed with sliders; maybe I just need to play better to fix the latter.
Eight hours to go in my EA Play trial. This could be the first year since maybe NHL 2014 that I may buy the game on sale.

Re: NHL 22
Just about passed out reading PK's post. Finally, something about about this game. All in fun Paul.
You need to lower pass accuracy to 0 for the CPU and Pass Reception Ease to 10. Start with that, but you'll definitely see the CPU less effective with its passing....still in the 70s-80s, but more tolerable.

Re: NHL 22
I maxed out the penalty sliders and still only see maybe 2-3 called a game. It's like they removed them this year which is odd... In Madden, I don't care that much but for hockey I'm more of a stickler.

Re: NHL 22
Thanks for the tips, fellas.
Agree on penalties, Mizz: They're so much more of a pivotal edge in hockey than in football because you gain the man advantage. Can you imagine if football removed a guy from the field for a set number of upcoming plays instead of penalizing a team yards?
Plus I'm an Oilers' fan, and EDM's power play was humming along at an OBSCENE 47 percent before last night's loss to the Flyers.

Re: NHL 22
Well apparently you can max out the individual penalty sliders as well and get a decent amount, I'll mess with those next.

Re: NHL 22
So I haven't played this game in 3 or 4 years and downloaded the trial and I have no idea what I am doing with this skill stick. I look like a one armed monkey trying to poke check players, no idea how to check anyone and shooting the puck, forget it no idea. Passing is not easy either.
Is there like a set of tutorials on how to play in the game?

Re: NHL 22
is the xbox one version basically the same as last year? I've been holding off downloading it as I am still waiting to grab xbox series X.
Also, can xbox one play xbox series s/x gamers or is it limited to the console?

Re: NHL 22
Every year EA provides little tweaks here and there. I am an online player so don't know the offline part of the game much. If you have an Xbox One you should just buy that version of the game as they are not compatible with the newer consoles.
