New NHL08 (360) League Official Thread-Post Scores/Comments
OK gang...this game really shines playing online, so lets get a little league going with just guys that will really COMMIT to completing all the games. If you only have casual interest, please don't respond. I would rather have 4 hardcore gamers than watch it all fade away again in 2 weeks.
So....if you are still interested, lets get this thing going. Let me know what team you want and how many games you think we should try and make the season for? I also think we should designate 1 or 2 nights a week as "league game nights" so we know we can get games in on those nights.

I have never played in a league before, but I am very interested. What kind of commitment are we talking about? 1 game a night or every few nights?
I would say a 42 game season would be good. I am interested in using the Bruins but will take really any other (decent) team.

a 42 game season is out of the question.....20 or less.
BTW, I will take the Thrashers.
I was thinking 2 games per week minimum must be played.
If it's too "open ended", people tend to not play all their games.
I think there must be some regulations to keep things moving along.
Again......only join this if you are willing to play at least 2 games per week and can commit to about 2 months of playing at least twice a week.
I only want dedicated players.....this thing will be completed!!!!
This game is too good online to not have a DSP league!
I am not sure if EA fixed the league scoring problems we saw in the past.
But we can manually keep track of wins and losses and the scores anyway.

I think realistically 10 minutes would be good but in order to see all 20 games completed by each entrant, 5 minutes would be more appropiate. I see it's 50/50 now. I take Vancouver of course. (Be warned my games are better played late because of the time zone difference but will try to compromise whenever my two year old permits).

Thanks for the info Zeppo. BTW, are you in for this one?Zeppo wrote:FYI gang, the EA league setup doesn't allow you set a certain number of league games. Rather, it allows you to set how many games you play against each opponent. Also, it doesn't have any home and away built into the system; whoever sends the invite for the league game is the home team.
I thought i saw an option for "number of games" in the League
setup screen.
The other option was gamespeed. I am assuming we prefer "slow" versus
"medium" or is "medium" OK?
I am interested, but am very skeptical about this league actually being completed. Also, all the scoring errors on EA's servers is a major drag too.
All that being said, I'm willing to give it a shot. I'd like the Flyers.
As admin, you can set number of games, but it's only relative to how many times you play each opponent. You can't say 'I'd like a 20 game schedule' when there are 8 teams.
I would also prefer 5 minute periods to make it easier to get the games in, and medium speed. I don't think slow speed and 5 minute periods are really an option, or we will have a ton of 0-0 shootout games, which aren't very fun for me. Slow is okay if people want 10 minute periods though.

Agree.
