Battlefield 2 - 360 Clan Match TONIGHT!!! (Fri. 5/5)

Post by Spooky »

Alright peeps...it's time to get this thing going.

Let's do the inaugural DSP BF2 clan match TONIGHT! I think we need at least 8 people total (more would be awesome).

I am going to suggest meeting online at 10:00pm central time.

So between me, Zeppo, Web, Mix, Slumberland, Vader, Nyisles, BDunn, iSport, PadresFan, Badgun, Sully, Scoop, TCrouch, & Divot (sorry if I left anyone out) we should have NO problem getting at least 8 online tonight.

If not tonight then any other night this weekend (as long as it is at or after 10:00pn CST).

So what say you????

I will be there in one form or another. Both of my accounts are in the clan I believe, just not sure which one I will be on. All depends on where my wife is watching tv.

You mean all 5 of us.

Something happened when we posted, it took forever to get the response in, then I saw it had me post two times.

Still room by my count, Rally.

The OS guys don't have an OS clan?

I figured someone could check and see if they want to be our opponent.

(Assuming you can choose your opponents. I have no idea.)

In so far:

Spooky
Web
Zeppo
Sully
Bdunn
Badgun
Boltman
Rally
Nyisles (if time works out)
Skerik (from OS - possible)

That is 10 total so far (at least 8 for sure). Sounds like enough to do the Clan thing.

Now I need to figure out how to set this up!?!?

Web, do you know how this Clan match thing works in BF2? Do you want to set it up or should I?

No clue, Spooky, but it doesn't seem that difficult. I think you just have to 'ready' your clan when you feel you have enough guys. That opens you up for challenges, I believe.

Whoever gets online first can try to set it up.

Hopefully the voice communication will hold up for a while.

I fully expect to get reamed, by the way. :D

Yeah, this isn't gonna be pretty. I'm psyched!

It'll be a scrimmage for us and a regular season match for the other guys. But it seems we could have one hell of a group if we can all get together and get used to each other.

Can I just say here how much I hate the 'Vote' rooms? It's because you always end up on the same two or three maps. I am constantly amazed when I am reminded how many maps there are in this game, some I've seen only once, some I don't know if I've seen them at all.

Just Say No to vote rooms.

I agree completely. I'd rather play unranked.

We did, but no one was ever on, and I guess everyone's jumping ship. :(

Is that the way to go? I admit I've never searched for unranked games. Usually I end up just joining someone online, and usually that room turns out to be a vote room (I don't seem to be able to tell if it's a ranked room or not when I join).

When I do search for a room, it's rare that I see more than one that isn't a vote room.

Yeah, my first search is always:

Auto Connect Off
All Maps
Ranked

others at default.

I usually find one or two rotating maps games like that, but if I don't (or the ones there have very few players) I'll just switch ranked to unranked and I've been good every time.

The only think I'd watch, though, is joining a rotating map game while it's currently ON backstab or bridgetoofar. It seems people join that without realizing it's not a vote server, and after the round is over, like half the room leaves!

I'd love to participate but I'm visiting family in IL and don't have access to my 360. Maybe next week.

The only problem is some of those maps are horrible. Several of them are mostly water or night maps and quite frankly are just no fun. I don't want to play BridgeTooFar or BackStab over and over either, but I'd rather play one of those maps 10 times in a row than to have to play Dammage once.
