The greatest late Christmas present since our son Bryce was born Dec. 27, 2000 - THE BUFFALO BILLS ARE IN THE PLAYOFFS! The drought is over!

Andy Dalton is a god. The Ginger Jesus!

This shouldn’t mean this much to me. But it does. I am SO F*CKING HAPPY.

Not that it really mattered as I was finding out that the Falcons won their game, but still such a frustrating year for Hawks fans plagued by injuries and what bothered me the most, stupid unnecessary penalties at key moments of a game.

The most penalized team in the league for stupidity. Well deserved.

And yes, screw the Rams, go Falcons...
Tell that to Texans fans.....never seen more injuries to key players in my life....

I don’t have a horse in the playoffs, so I likely won’t watch much if any of the games. Good luck to whomever you guys are pulling for.

Looks like Gruden will be back coaching, this time for the Raiders.

Thank God. Hopefully we'll never hear him again in the booth of a Monday Night Football game. Perhaps the worst TV analyst in football.

Unlike PK, I like Chuckie as an analyst. That said is he f##king nuts!? He has the ultimate cushy job at ESPN, makes easy millions just showing up one night a week and now he's trading that in for a 12-16 hrs a day, 7 days a week job? Hate to be the bearer of bad news for Chuckie, no SB winning coach has ever taken over a 2nd team and won the SB. Maybe Hoodie along with Brady might be able to break the record but I don't see Chuckie doing that.

And Chuckie won the SB with Tony Dungy's team when he left the Bucs and went to Indy. From there on out the rest of his stint with the Bucs was below average. He's more of an entertaining coach than a good one.

Edit: The only reason to bail on ESPN if he knows something we don't know like ESPN not renewing their NFL contract when it expires. They have been cutting back in their departments and TV offerings and doing more online stuff.

I didn’t mind Gruden in the booth either, but after 9 years it’ll remain to be seen if he can adapt to today’s players mentality. Obviously one of the main reasons besides being a good tactical coach is how and will he revive D. Carr’s magic from two seasons ago. He can be tough on QBs and we’ll see what he can do with the Raiders’ offense.

To be honest among all the firings yesterday, this one had my head scratching a bit. Gruden will probably improve on this season’s showing but I doubt he can take them to the promised land.

Many coaches have MASSIVE egos. Gruden is among the clear leaders in that pack. So he probably wants back in.

Also, coaches are not normal human beings. They thrive on pressure, love being at the facility 15 hours per day, seven days per week working on football. They're not wired like you and me.

Either way, so long, Chuckie. Don't let the ESPN door hit you in the ass. You offer nothing in any analysis except for your love for every player. ESPN pays you $6.5 million per year to provide that kind of cutting analysis and to host inane vehicles for your endless self-promotion such as "Quarterback Camp."

ESPN can save a ton of budget by hiring a replacement for $1 million per season who can actually articulate football and offer objective analysis instead of endless on-air blowjobs to mediocre players. That move might make poor Sean McDonough the happiest man in America after two years of enduring Gruden.

There's gotta be more to it than that when you're giving up $6.5 million and trading that for a 15 hr, 7 days a week job. Now if he's being offered a part ownership in the team then that would make more sense. But to give up the kind of money he's getting at ESPN for the little effort it requires vs an NFL HC'ing gig just doesn't compute with me.

He's a relatively young guy who wants back in the grind. Again, coaches want to coach -- not talk on TV. Especially one who's only 54.

It's no different than an athlete. Why does Tom Brady want to continue to play until he's 45 when he already has five Super Bowl rings, is the GOAT and has enough money for the next three generations of his family?

Because he can. Because he's still great. Because it's what challenges him the most and what he does best, so it provides him great satisfaction.

Same with Chuckie.

Totally agree with this, mixes up players first and last names with others so much that it comes across as totally unprepared and unprofessional for a tv color guy.

Gruden may get around $10 million a year to coach. Not a bad gig for someone who was basically a .500 coach.

As for his TV work, on MNF, they want personalities, not incisive analysis. I thought Madden sucked but he was beloved and made a fortune.

MNF is a top rated show so I doubt they will go with some low-key guy.

Bruce Arians could be an interesting choice. Colorful guy. Good talker. But is he a big enough name?

Peyton Manning, anyone? ESPN/ABC's answer to Romo?

hahahaha he is like the modern day Yogi Berra with his quotes and Harry Carey with his old man delivery.

He would outright suck IMO. Thank God you're not a programming director. :D

Good point. But he still would be better than Gruden, who is a complete train wreck.

I've got my bankroll on buffalo today straight up. Bortles is just awful. I think buffalo will end up winning 13-10. Saints Panthers is my game of the week.

You gave both offenses far too much credit.

I'm bummed, but the Bills don't deserve to win if they only score three points. Still a very fun season, and I'm grateful as hell the Bills returned to the playoffs.

But the franchise has some big decisions to make. I don't see Tyrod Taylor as a QB who can lead the Bills to four or five straight playoff appearances. But who else is available that's better? Cousins is better, but he's not worth $20 million per season.

The Bills need to make up their mind fairly quickly. They owe Taylor a $20 million bonus if he's on the roster past March 1 or April 1 -- can't remember the exact date.

I have no feel for what they will do. Some in the organization may feel like me: Taylor is a mediocre, overly cautious passer who is nothing more than a functional game manager. Others may think that with healthy, quality receivers that Taylor could be a solid starter of a playoff-caliber team in Buffalo.

I also wonder how much the ineptitude of offensive coordinator Rick Dennison has hindered Taylor or if Dennison appears inept because Taylor isn't that good. Did Dennison design such an unimaginative offense to compensate for Taylor's deficiencies as a passer and the Bills' thin roster at receiver, or did he create such a limp attack because he doesn't know what he's doing?

Interesting offseason ahead.

Finally, bet the mortgage on Pittsburgh at -7.5 next weekend. What a joke of a line. The Steelers will beat the Jags by at least 10. I could care less about the result on Week 5. The Steelers have lost just once since the Jags trounced them that week, the disputed non-TD catch game against New England.

Don't buy the NFL party line for one second that this game is competitive, especially since it will be played in Pittsburgh.

Bills have two first round picks but they're both in the early 20s.

They may be able to trade up to draft a QB, unless they think Peterman can be developed into a starter. Looked like he didn't have much of an arm on that shallow sideline hook.

Jags may be able to just get away with a game manager if that defense continues to play well.

Several teams which could stand to improve their QB situation.

Very disappointed in last nights result.

Two horrible turnovers on special teams and extremely poor play calling in the first half sunk the Rams against the Falcons...Case in point passing on 2nd and 2 and 3rd and 2 consecutively..Anyway...

I have had 24 hours to get over it. I know coach that you will figure out that Gurley is your bread and butter.

Great season. Actually encouraged that the three winners of the other three games this weekend were teams the Rams defeated this season....Young team. ...Hope to build on this years success with bigger and greater things next season.

GO RAMS!
