I like him don't get me wrong, just not at the price I'm expecting. If it's less than 5 and 45 million with around 10 mil guaranteed, it'll be okay, but I"m fulling expecting 5/60 w/ 20 guaranteed.
EDIT: s***. 30 mil guaranteed has leaked already.
Cheer up, DB, that's only $468,750 per 2013 Wallace reception.

What's going on down there?
Didn't work for the Bucs or the Marlins though.
Miami is just replacing guys that left making tons of money w/ guys that are making tons of money. So it's not like they are spending more than previously.

I went to sleep last night with visions of Kellen Davis' moving truck dancing through my head. Of course, the poor bastard kept dropping s*** as he was loading it, but such is the life of the handsless TE.

Ha, the only question is how many Allreds he gets on the Bears Tight End Failure scale.
Jared Cook 5yr - $35 mil/ $19 mil guaranteed so 54% of his contract is his without playing a down. I doubt if the Dolphins offered that much in guaranteed money.

No way...nor should they have. They already made a huge mistake in Wallace. No need to compound it.
I agree they overpaid for Wallace but all it will take is for a few long bomb TD's from Tanny and all is forgiven. I gotta give Dolphins mgmt some credit for trying to take some attention away from the Heat. Hopefully Wallace doesn't turn into BM II.

If he produces as much as BMarsh did in Miami when he was there, it'll be a win. That's how little confidence I have in Wallace to be productive each week. Sure, he'll have some good games, but he disappears quite often. I'm scared.
I wouldn't call Wallace a huge mistake. The guy has a lot of talent and is a very good deep threat. There's just obviously a fair amount of risk in shelling out that kind of money to a guy on a down year. How much of that was him and how much of that was Pittsburgh's zombie offense?
There's no way a team can get that kind of player without overpaying. It's just the nature of free agency, and Wallace was one of the top five free agents available if not the top. The big questions are whether Miami will use him properly and if Tannehill's arm can take advantage of his speed. Compare his deal to Harvin's, which required draft picks, or Bowe's, and it's about the same -- and Wallace has been more productive than Harvin.
I think it's worth the risk. Give your young QB a real weapon and see what happens, and use the draft to fill needs that his contract may have generated due to cap issues.

I would just like to again formally thank the Miami Dolphins organization for having Jeff Ireland as a general manager. 1500 yards receiving for two third-round picks is one of the best gifts the Bears have ever received. Perhaps he will provide a similar gift with Mike Wallace in two years.

Bears missed the playoffs right? So did Miami. Push.

Are you doing an imitation of Jeff Ireland's thought process? If so, spot on.

Facts are facts. No thought process needed.
Know what's scary though...Marshall is gonna be RIDICULOUS next year now that you guys have a TE that can actually catch. Opens up the field considerably. Now they just need another decent WR and I'd be very afraid of that offense. So at least you have that going for you. Miami has zero...just two overpaid WRs, no LT and no TE. Sweet!
