Yeah, the dodgy deal is done, with no one still the wiser as to who owns the registration of the player, or on what basis West Ham can claim to have owned the rights and only been paid £2.5m for him.

Here's hoping he's as big a success at The Swamp as their last attacking Argentinian, a Mr JS Veron.

Meanwhile, on the proper side of Manchester, City today signed their 8th new player of the Sven Goran Eriksson era, so I'm taking a pair of binoculars and my Observer Book of European Footballers to tomorrow's friendly against Valencia.

Leeds have been docked 15 points. They could possibly go down to League 2!

I'm crying, I really am

Still, with my old employers as the administrators, anything is likely to happen. The last club that they administered got so far up s*** creek that they had to declare themselves bankrupt and drop out of the Scottish League (they being Airdrieonians) and takeover another bust club (Clydebank) to reconstitute themselves.

One of my friends worked in their Glasgow office at the time, and said that being picketed by irate football supporters did little to improve her day.

mess with them all you want! I'm a big boy. Wednesday will be midtable with their inept chairman and Bayern will win the UEFA Cup. That's just how it is!

WTG, DMB! :)

Oh, and our progressive European comrades once again display the class and sophistication which is the hallmark of the old world. Ugly Americans continue to have much to learn
