But what does that mean? Does that mean everyone has to start paying, or is it free, or what? I'm in the beta and I'm confused as to what "released" means to them. Any info?
The game will exit from Open Beta and will be a released version. The released version will have one course for you to play at your leisure for free. If you want the full TWO experience, they will release the commercial details Tuesday.

Keep in mind that there will not be a TWO 11. TWO will be the version they will continue to evolve and add features to for the foreseeable future.

Divot, according to Gamespot we can play 10 courses for free. Can you confirm this or is it just two? It sounds like anything above that you'll need to buy DLC packs or either buy a $9.99 monthly subscription fee or a yearly fee for $59.99

You can play Sheshan and St. Andrews for free. You will not need DLC packs to play the game. The $59.99/year option is a much better one than the $9.99/month option obviously. The DLC or microtransaction is for points that you can use (you get 1500 points with a membership) in the Pro Shop for licensed clubs. These clubs are not necessary to play the game nor to compete well. You can buy all other Pro Shop items with in-game money.

Thanks for clearing that up. I wished EA had priced the yearly subscription at $29.99, that would have been an easier sell.

So if we are on the annual subscription, will we get all new courses for free?

Also, is the extra for beta testers the additional 1500 points that can be used in the Pro Shop?

I enjoyed the beta, but it still seemed to be missing a lot of features for them to be starting the subscription service. Oh well, iRacing was in the same boat a couple years ago and I still bought into that one, so I will probably give this a go as well.

I actually don't think $60 / year is too bad considering some other MMO prices.

Assuming, like MMOs before it, they continue to add content.

My understanding is "Yes" to all of the above.

Sorry to hear that...they have been having issues with that and are working on a solution. If I hear it is fixed, I will post an update here if you want...

As of 2:30 MDT on 4/9/10, it's still an issue for me.

I wonder what would cause the issue since I logged in and paid my membership last night no problem. Is it the type of card you're using? I just used my Visa Debit card...worked no problem. Sorry to hear it's being a bastard. :)

Just for the heck of it, try clearing your browser cache and see if that resolves the issue. They have had a number of users with this same issue.

Looks like there is a resolution to this issue...

My sincerest apologies to those of you who were having issues these past couple of days with completing a transaction.

Our purchasing system was configured with some extraordinarily high security measures to protect customers against fraudulent credit card transactions. Unfortunately, some of the settings in this configuration also prevented certain users from making a valid transaction.

We have modified the configuration to allow all valid transactions to clear.

Thank you for your patience.

NOTE: There are still strong security measures in place that are intended to prevent fraudulent activity if your credit card has been lost or stolen. If you still are unable to complete a transaction, it is most likely due to this security. Please reply if you are still unable to complete a transaction.
Hope this helps....

I'm looking to sponsor people, but need them to be active. If you're making the cut each day and looking for a sponsor let me know.

I was part of the beta and I still don't understand the sponsorship thing. Guess I need to read the manual.

I've been quite immersed in this game for the past 2 weeks. Feel free to throw your support if you wish. They added a new course today and I've been playing and swearing at the same time when I play 'The Predator' course. That's a b*tch of a jungle. My best score was +18. :(
