I think the 11/27 Xbox One date is just a placeholder. That would be black friday, not the best day to launch systems. I'd bet they get it out the door sometime sooner than the 27th.

Was watching some more E3 videos today and The Division just kept jumping out as the game I'm excited for the most. I know its been discussed already but its a very cool concept that looks like its done well.

Hopefully the engine can be used for genres more interesting than FPS, though I guess DICE are doing another Mirror's Edge game.

If the engine is that great, they should let you toggle between first-person and third-person, particularly for a game like Mirror's Edge.

Interesting that they boast the engine scales from smart phones all the way up to PCs.

You mean like at the end of the video where they mention racing games, real time strategy and rpg's?

All I know is Dice is making a SW Battlefront game and it will use this engine. Good enough for me.

Macca COD has the name COD that is all it needs. Sooner or later Activation will run that franchise into the gound like they do everything they touch.

Well, I can't blame them but Sony has a VERY "Kinect" looking camera that they cut from their package just to lower the price. The article states, truthfully I think, that doing that may have given them a price cut in the short term, but they fragmented their market in the long term:

Meh. The Kinect camera was one of the things I wasn't interested in and I'm kinda glad it's PS4 equivalent wasn't included with the Sony console.

Yeah, but you're one person. And you probably won't buy an Eye...which solidifies the point, I think. Developers will be fragmented, and their sales will be fragmented, which lowers the incentive to even build games for the thing.

Heck, the majority of the games in my collection right now are kids games and Kinect games. We use the Kinect all the time at our house. I'm glad that I won't, at some point, have to read that a game requires the Kinect, and I want to play it, and will have to plunk down extra money to get a peripheral that wasn't packaged with the system. The Kinect I have cost me 150 bucks...a new, better one is included for less money than the old one? Shoot, that's just fine with me.

The only games my kids used for the Kinect was for the dancing games and Disney. While I also payed then $150 bucks for the gadgetry it was my choice to do so. It would have been also been my choice to wait until it went down to $120 or eventually my choice to buy it at $99. The choice was there. This time around, I am not so sure that next crop of games will have a necessary immersion involving the kinect where I feel like I can't play the Xbone without it.

MS will have to convince hard that the extra $100 charge can have meaningful capabilities to consumers. Have they shown anything remotely cool with the Kinect during the E3 shows where the gamers will embrace it?

I haven't, and to make it as a necessary companion to justify their higher price remains a challenge for them. There was no choice for the consumer this time around.

I know that eventually I will own both systems, it's inevitable for me but I wished I could make the choice myself as I had with the purchase of the first Kinect. The value of the next Kinect remains to be seen.

Don't have a kinect, don't want a kinect, and don't want to pay for a kinect. Fragmented market or not I'm gad there s a system I can get that doesn't force me to buy a kinect type device and isn't incorporated into the games I enjoy playing (or at least required).
