Well its now 10-6 hawks. The way the lambs are playing in the red zone, that makes it a two score game.

The Rams play calling is so lame. It's like they are saying "let's just lose the game without giving Sam a complex about it."

They didnt challenge the first and goal catch in the first half either. Spags is a bit slow tonight.

Rams have totally come undone after that pick. Good season for them though.

Yeah. Well. Seven wins after winning a total of six over the last three seasons is a step in the right direction but dam between their and the officials ineptness this has been VERY tough to watch.ScoopBrady wrote:Rams have totally come undone after that pick. Good season for them though.
To play this poorly against such a crappy team is not good no matter where you came from

Well compared to the rest of the teams going into the playoffs, this current team has no chance next week. I said it before, I'll say it again, it just doesn't feel right. But WhiteHurst did enough in the game to warrant a win, heck even the running game came alive in the third quarter but the secondary Hawks D was stingy tonight.
Sure it's the playoffs now, but who am I kidding? Give NO a bye. Might as well.
Re: NFL Season 2010
I take nothing for granted. The Saints didnt look so hot today at home. Seattle is still a tough place to play.10spro wrote: Sure it's the playoffs now, but who am I kidding? Give NO a bye. Might as well.
ANY GIVEN SUNDAY or this case saturday.
Go Hawks. For NFC west pride!

Re: NFL Season 2010
I didn't watch the game, but our f***in OC needs to go.
Why play so conservative in a game like this?
Great year though and I do like Spags as our coach.
I'm rooting for the Falcons!!!

Agreed, but protecting him from himself is still protecting him.Danimal wrote: Four of those sacks where on Cutler, he doesn't know how to get rid of the ball.

Again. Do you want a sure loss in GB and shot at a fluke Super Bowl with a few more wins, or a meaningless win in GB and the risk of an for an immediate exit from the playoffs because you have to watch Todd Collins stumble around again?
Color me unmoved by arguments that 1 week off versus 2 makes a lick of difference.

Re: NFL Season 2010
The Packers game was great, while the Seahawks game was tough to watch. I can't believe the 'hawks are actually in the playoffs after watching that game. Well, their season will end in 6 more days, when they are introduced to a real playoff caliber team.
I predict a Pats-Falcons Super Bowl. This just feels like a year in which the top seeded teams will make it through.

I like him too but he was far too passive last night.MizzouRah wrote:Great year though and I do like Spags as our coach.
He is the head coach and ultimately responsible for Shurmur's gentle approach to play calling. Plus he was asleep at the switch on two obvious challenges.
Going forward on a couple of positive notes. The defense was much improved this season. Bradford has a year under his belt. Opening day 2011 season is only eight months away. Lets go Rams!!!!

Re: NFL Season 2010
Why are analysts picking the Colts as a "dangerous" or "sleeper" team in the AFC? The Colts could beat the Jets this weekend, as the J-E-T-S are O-V-E-R-R-A-T-E-D. But the ponies go no further than Jan. 15-16.
The Colts have won four in a row, but those wins have come against Tennessee, Jacksonville and Oakland. Not exactly Murderers' Row. And those four wins have come by a combined 20 points.
Indy has so many holes. If No. 19 has even a mediocre game, the Colts are f*cked.

Re: NFL Season 2010
I agree. Given that he had to be ready to play in case the 1 seed was up for grabs, I could see playing the starters for the first half. But he should have pulled his key guys after that, especially Cutler and Forte.RobVarak wrote:Agreed, but protecting him from himself is still protecting him.Danimal wrote: Four of those sacks where on Cutler, he doesn't know how to get rid of the ball.![]()

I got really irritated hearing Tom Jackson and Trent Dilfer talking about how dangerous the Packers looked and how the Bears didn't seem playoff ready. Chicago has a lot of issues, especially at the line, but Green Bay's been an underperforming team all year long. Sometimes those teams get hot and make a run, but they often get done in by the same flaws that hampered them during the season. I found it especially annoying that they hyped a Packer team that had a playoff berth on the line and still only mustered 10 points against a Bears team that had little motivation to win.
Re: NFL Season 2010
As I told my buddy while we were watching about the fourth time that Buck or Aikman talked about the "explosive" Packers offense, "The only time they've exploded against the Bears this year was in their own pants."
I'd much rather face them again than the Giants. Capers' defense can be frustrating, but it's a much better match-up for the Bears then the DL of the Giants.

I was thinking the same thing yesterday. Yet another reason Lovie should have sat guys at least at the half.RobVarak wrote: I'd much rather face them again than the Giants.
Re: NFL Season 2010
For all the Bears' faults, the return of their running game coupled with their defensive play gives them a couple of key components for a good playoff run. Cutler's the wildcard, but if they avoid turnovers, I think they are actually a fairly tough team. I don't get the tendency to write them off when none of the other NFC teams are really any better.
Re: NFL Season 2010
It's all perception. Hard to take a team that's had farcical losses like the NYG or Washington games seriously. Their OL clearly can't handle sophisticated stunts or even the 3-4 kitchen sink stuff that Capers threw at them. This is compounded by the fact that some combination of Cutler's stupidity, WR incompetence and Martz's system is paralyzing them from completing hot routes.Brando70 wrote:I don't get the tendency to write them off when none of the other NFC teams are really any better.
OTOH, if a team plays vanilla 4-3 with traditional blitzing they seem to have patched together enough protection for Cutler to work.
Every team has weaknesses, but the possibility of giving up double-digit sacks in a game is one of the more spectacular ones.

Re: NFL Season 2010
I wanted the Packers out of the playoff's. But thinking back on it I think it would of been better served to get the starters out at half. At halftime you proved your point you can compete in a playoff type game. The second half actually took that confidence and made it worse, although the Packers only scored when both Jennigs and Harris were out for a play. Zac Bowman should never see the field againRobVarak wrote: Again. Actually I'd like to see the Pack beat Philly and then us get the Saints at home. Best case scenario is we get the Pack at home in the championship game, I like those odds.
