Line opened at SF -5, which is too fat. But line already is down to SF -4.5 or -4.

I still think that line is a bit chubby. Which team looked better today? Baltimore beat the best offense in the AFC by 15 points. Meanwhile, SF had to rally to beat an overrated No. 1 seed by four. Both teams won on the road, so that's a wash.

Didn't look like it was going to happen for the 49ers after failing to convert the 2 turnovers. I could see people saying 49ers were a couple of inches away from taking the lead in the NFC Championship game, just like people were saying they were close last year if not for the fumble in OT.

Honestly if the Falcons tried to score on a longer play, rather than apparently trying to work the clock down and score with too little time left, they might have fared better because Ryan was hitting those passes to the outside all day, especially to the corner of the end zone.

They need to reload on defense because they were giving up big chunks of yards both by pass and by runs. They prevented Kaepernick from getting outside on a run but they gave up room underneath the end who was making sure Kaepernick was handing off.

Probably could use more consistency in the running game. As hot as Ryan was most of the game, it's tough to continually put the ball in the air because there are risks like the slip by White leading to the int or the fumbled snap against pressure.

Kapernick is probably going to have to put up 30 points against a much tougher Ravens defense because Flacco seems to be playing very well.

Why does everyone keep sayin' the Falcons are overrated? I don't get it. They choked away a couple games in the last two weeks against arguably the two BEST teams in the NFL. So lets not get carried away. No team got less respect than the Falcons this year, and they almost shoved it down everyone's throats. Almost. ;)

I can't say my teams had bad sports years... but all of them fell a little short.

Georgia was 4 yards short.. another play and they win the MNC (they would have killed ND too).

Braves lost to an inferior team in a stupid one game playoff.

Falcons blew a 17 point lead yesterday in the same building UGA lost in 5 weeks earlier.

I care more about football than baseball and it sucks both of my teams lost in a game before the REAL championship. I don't remember UGA winning it all in 1980 and the Falcons have never won it all. I honestly don't think any of my teams will ever win a championship again.... the Braves being the only one in what 1995???

The Falcons played well yesterday, Matt made a couple of bad mistakes but his OL played great in front of him. Roddy White and Julio made all the catches.... Harry Douglas falling down hurt BAD!! With his speed, if he stayed on his feet, he could have walked in..

I can honestly say I have REALLY enjoyed watching Tony Gonzalez play in Atlanta the past few years... If he has lost anything in the past 6 years, I would hate to see him in his prime. He has amazing body control and catches everything around him.

As far as the Falcons, they did not get any respect this year, which is fine. The NFL and media doesn't like them since they don't have the fanbase and won't bring in the ratings a team like Dallas, San Fran would... But their defense is bad. They need too add a LB or two and a pass rusher on the edge.... and a younger RB..

They also lost their best corner in the preseason, but he should be back next year.

Two HUGE turnovers to boot or they are on their way to the Super Bowl.

Yes they did. So what does that have to do with anything? My predictions about the Texans were spot on as they performed exactly as I stated. So what is your point other than trolling and trying desperately to continue a childish argument?

Just further proving my point. You could just say I was right and be done with it. Instead you cling to your Texans who did end up winning a game anyway. So you were wrong there too. It's not an argument when one side is clearly correct. Beating a dead horse...absolutely. So I'll stop now.

Proving what point? That opinions other than YOURS are irrelevant? I stand by what I stated. I was not wrong because it was my opinion. I did not state what I did as a FACT even though the vast majority of what I did post did come to fruition. Yes, Houston won a game, so I was wrong about "one and done". And they got hammered AGAIN in Foxboro. So what? Big f***in deal. I never said a team could not win in the playoffs without momentum going into the playoffs, but I DID say the Texans were in bad shape and their performance in Foxboro proved me correct. I was done with this a week ago, but you had to bring it up again just like a troll does. I'm done as long as you drop it and move the f*** on.

Off the current Super Bowl, but it's very odd that Tim Brown and Jerry Rice have accused Bill Callahan of throwing Super Bowl XXXVII against the Bucs. Can't recall I've ever heard players making that accusation in any NFL game.

It's such a bizarre occurrence. It's almost like Tim Brown is trying to sabotage his HOF chances.

He already was awarded a fraudulent Heisman. Why not continue that mojo to Canton?

People forget how Tim Brown won the Heisman in 1987 despite catching just 39 balls for 846 yards and THREE touchdown passes all season for an 8-4 team. That's a whopping 3.25 catches per game. Brown also had three TD's on punt returns. Brown's numbers for return yards and receiving were better his junior year than as a senior when he won the Heisman.

Meanwhile, Don McPherson of Syracuse throws for 22 touchdowns and 2,341 yards in 1987 for an 11-0-1 team and finishes a distant second in Heisman voting. Donnie Mac barely beat third-place Gordie Lockbaum of Holy Cross, a media pet -- like Brown -- as a two-way player for a joke of a program.

So basically a Heisman was awarded to a guy because he was an average receiver and damn good kick returner for a decent team. One of the larger screw jobs in Heisman history, all because of the glare of the Golden Dome.

I've HATED Notre Dame football ever since.

Same here, PK. That year A&M played ND in the Cotton Bowl and beat them pretty badly 35-10. Brown was exposed in that game as well and A&M shut him down IIRC.

Brown was excellent as a pro, though. Nine straight 1000-yard seasons. Ridiculous he's not in the Hall of Fame.

The accusation against Callahan seems insane, however. No matter how much Callahan hated his players and vice versa, I can't see a coach throwing the Super Bowl for that reason.
