Your twelth man put in his usual quality performance for you though.miget33 wrote:Typical Owen game, score a goal, then go off injured.

I don't know what your problem is, Dave - listen, if Dowd gives a red card for a foul on the last man on a breakaway then United have to play a man down for 80+ minutes. Then Sir Alex would be upset and if Whiskeynose is upset then Dowd's not getting a Christmas card.davet010 wrote:Your twelth man put in his usual quality performance for you though.miget33 wrote:Typical Owen game, score a goal, then go off injured.
It's pretty simple.
Anyone see that the "Red Knights" - a group of wealthy Manchester United fans met recently to discuss a take-over. Where did these massive United fans meet? Where else - London.

Anyway, congrats to United. Rooney is just ridiculous this season.

As you are no doubt aware, I was thinking of the referee as opposed to the potato-headed granny shagger, although your comment would still fit.miget33 wrote:davet010 wrote:Your twelth man put in his usual quality performance for you though.miget33 wrote:Typical Owen game, score a goal, then go off injured.
Always nice to have him in the back pocket.

Make the most of it, coz as soon as Baconface goes.....couple of trophyless seasons and you'll be passing the hat round outside the ground. The reason that no one wants to fess up to being interested in the job is that whoever comes in after TDS is going to get dog's abuse after each defeat, none of this '5 years to win first trophy' nonsense.miget33 wrote:Of course Dave, it's one of those perks that comes with being a "top club."
Don't worry Dave, one day City will get there.

Wednesday weren't so lucky, to the Relegation zone they go.fsquid wrote:Bayern is lucky as hell. Outplayed both legs and they advance on away goals.
For the US folks here, anybody have Fox Soccer Plus?
If so, how is it?

Other than the HD (which is sweet), it's exactly like Setanta was. I'm guessing Fox may have more elaborate plans for it down the road, but for the time being it's essentially just Setanta re-branded.miget33 wrote: For the US folks here, anybody have Fox Soccer Plus?

I'm sure ABC/ESPN execs are crying, too, over Becks' injury. Effective or not, the guy is the most well-known world footballer to Americans, and his name attracts Yank eyeballs.
Too bad for Beckham. Achilles' injuries are tough at any age, but they're brutal as you age and the elasticity of your joints deteriorates. He's not only done with the World Cup, but his top-flight football career might be in peril, too.

I disagree. If his game drew eyeballs, you would have seen MLS actually make a tick upwards. instead, ESPN/ABC saw unexpected nice ratings for EURO 2008 and the sat. morning EPL matches has been a success too.pk500 wrote:I'm sure ABC/ESPN execs are crying, too, over Becks' injury.
