It's got wireless ya know...and they update them as often as they do the PS3/PS2 version, so it's sweet as hell.

I finally picked up a DS3 controller, $54 is kind of steep but it really feels nice weight wise and I like the rumble.

I can't imagine playing this game without it now. It's fantastic in pressure game situations.

I loved this game before, but post-patch it's even better, IMO. I'd still like to see SCEA implement a new fielding camera angle that more closely resembles a TV broadcast camera angle, but otherwise I don't know what else they can do to make me happier with their game.

And it's such a sweet bonus that the real life Cardinals are having an unexpected good start to the season...for me the timing couldn't be better to have such a great game to go with an exciting real life Cards' season.

I also agree with both Dans and the other folks who have mentioned the DS controller...I love it with this game.

My order for the PS3 and PSP version finally arrived out here in the middle of nowhere. Both are amazing, but I find myself playing the PSP version more often. RTS mode is fantastic when copied to a memory stick, as you don't have the load times to contend with that you do on the PS3.

Definitely gets my vote for the current best sports title series, passing WE/PES after the lame 2008. The devs are fantastic.

As much as I love the game, it's still got some weird bugs. Men on 1st and 2nd, I ripped a double down the right field line that bounced off the wall and into foul territory. The RF picked it up and threw it toward the cut off, who was in foul territory. When the ball reached the 1b, play stopped. The men on base were allowed to come home, my batter was allowed to advance to third, and the RF was charged with an error. No hit was recorded.

Next game, I'm down by 1 in the ninth, man on 2nd, no outs. I hit a ball to the left field wall. It looks like it bounces off the wall and I send my runner home to tie the game. Instead, the LF throws to 2nd to double me up. On replay, the ball wen through the back of the LF and he appeared to catch it against the wall. Normally it wouldn't bug me but it looked like the ball was in play.

LOVE the save game feature.

Beat Colorado 4-1 in my home opener. Wainright was excellent and Ankiel hit his first HR of the season.

The only annoying thing is sometimes the ball will go right through an infieders legs without him attempted to get it. Other than that.. this game is great on the psp.

Has anyone used Knight's rosters with theaub's attribute edits? Just wondering if there's a noticeable difference in how they play when compared to the SCEA rosters.

Happens on the PS3 game as well. Fortunately, it only happens like one in 10-15 games from my experience.

I just got the game 2 weeks ago and as basically a newcomer to the game I was frustrated with the ease that I could hit and the lack of pop by the cpu.

Saturday I tried the Knight rosters with Aubs edits and also threw in the nemesis slider set...with the Yankees I had very little offense. I know its a one game sample but I was pleased as I lost 6-1. Going to play again in about a 1/2 hour.

I could not get theaub's rosters to work. Knight's set was a cinch, Mac to thumbdrive to PS3, but the others (including brunnoce's one with the face edits) don't appear on the PS3. Could be something to do with Knight's being a .zip and the others a .rar.

I have to mention that I lost a game against the CPU on a suicide squeeze. They had bases loaded, 1 out in the 9th, with a speedy guy on third. Batter dropped the bunt as the runner came home, and I was completely caught off guard. I've never seen that before in a baseball game.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but the Show on the PSP just isn't doing it for me. Technically it's an awsome game, but for whatever reason I don't care to play it much. I've spent much more time with ESPN and MVP on the old Xbox during the past month. Maybe it's the small screen.

This is puzzling, because my brain is telling me how great it is to have such a quality baseball game on a portable device. Same thing happened with 07 last year. So, anyone want to buy a used copy of '08 for the PSP

Happened 3 times in my first game and 1 time so far in my second game. Hitting has been very easy on AS defaults so far.. but it's early.

Perhaps I'm doing something wrong, but at least once or twice a game when the CPU gets a single, my outfielder will throw home instead of to the cut off man. I know I'm not pressing the bottom button. I'm purposely trying to hit the cut off fan. The runner will then end up at second base on the overthrow. Very frustrating. Anyone experience this?

Couple of questions,

For those with the DS controller- Are you now turning the pitch cursor off and using vibration to indicate location?

Also, for those playing on AS default and finding hitting a bit too easy - what's the next step? Decrease contact? Go up to HOF?

Thanks! Definitely my favourite console game of all time. I was playing the A's yesterday (using the Jays) and Barton hit a double in the 8th to complete the cycle. The Toronto fans acknowledged his achievement and he tipped his cap to the crowd in a short but really cool cut scene.

Edit: One more amazing thing I heard yesterday. After finishing my game and just sitting around I hear the stadium PA in the background talking about public transportation options - streetcar and subway routes, etc...they were all real locations. I couldn't believe the attention to detail.

I really wish they would patch the psp version as the only issue that's ticking me off is how the ball is going through fielder's legs.. happens at least twice a game.

Are you talking about balls that are hit right to you and you don't have to move? If so...just move a little bit...sometimes it takes a little movement to kick into the animation.

It mostly happens to the CPU controlled team's fielders and allows me a big inning. :(
