Very cool idea on the cup, count me in! Thanks for getting it all together Dan.

A couple of quick questions. First, am I to believe that PS3 users can buy courses outright with coins they earn, instead of having to just buy rounds as Xbox players do? And also, can PS3 users join the club or does each system have its own separate CC system?

I can't see how this could be cross system compatible. I mean it's two different online systems.

I can't get over how much this game just "feels" like golf. Last night in the Wolf Creek daily I had my swing just nailed. Damn near everything was a perfect hit line, ripping them straight to where I wanted.

But my short game was just atrocious. Bogeyed the very first hole on a 3-putt. Knocked in a birdie 2 holes later, then bogeyed again right after. I was working with a pretty below-average +2 on the back 9 when I reached 16. I had my first mishit of the game (I got too comfortable, I think) and ended up clocking a tree. I got stuck right behind the tree, and I have never tried changing my shot type. I tried moving my stance to hit a lower shot, but I drilled it straight into the low-hanging tree branches 3 or 4 times because I didn't know how to punch a shot lol!

I was ready to curse and throw my controller, because I think I shot a 10 or 11 on that hole. It was absolutely maddening.

But then I dropped a birdie on 18 and all was right in the world again. It seriously reminded me of real golf--cursing at the world when I'd shank one off the fairway, then just get that one perfect swing and was reminded why I kept coming back.

I had a decent round going last night until I hit 17. I tried to play a draw into that par 3 and I must of pulled back wrong because I duck hooked it into the water. I then went on to hit long, chip and 4 putt. I think that was +4 or +5 for the hole.

My biggest issue seems to be dialing down the club. I can't get a feel for hitting a club short. For example if I am say 80 yards from the whole, and my 60 degree goes 90 yards I can't dial it back. I almost always over swing and hit the ball long. When I try and take a 3/4 back swing I end up hitting way short. This and putting have been the hardest things for me to get down. While my putting is getting better I can't for the life of me improve in hitting below club distances.

I also don't get the point of putting in "points" to the spin attribute. With spin off I am unable to spin a ball at all, no matter how I use the shot setup stick. Is it even possible to spin a ball backwards with Spin off in the settings?

The only reason I like the odd spin here and there is when I try to shape the ball on the greens. You know, the ones that you hit slightly over the hole and then depending on the conditions of the green, you put a little backspin to bring the ball back to the hole. Also if you add it to your driver, you may add a couple of more yards but in general it's the least attribute to my CAG. My overall golfer is around level 61.

Absolutely, yes! Spin off means you cannot apply spin to the ball after it's been struck (or while in mid-flight). If you strike the ball low (or fat) it will apply back spin. If it strike the ball more toward the top (thin) you'll apply a forward spin on the ball.

If you want to be bale to "back your ball up" on the greens during your approach shots you'll need to put points into spin and also strike the ball low.

I guess my 40 in spin isn't enough then because I can't back it up to save my life :)

I haven't been applying any xp points to the spin attribute, thought it was used for the spin while the ball was in the air, will have to do some readjustments. Thanks Boom!

I don't know how in the world you managed a -2 with 57% FIR...I hit 92.7%FIR, yet had to stop the bleeding from #13 on to manage a +11. Man, Els is deceptively difficult. It looks wide open and straightforward, but the greens are tough. My short game positively sucked today, also. Going from even par yesterday to +11, though, strangely puts a smile on my face. I will gladly take an 83.

Terry hit it right on the head yesterday, too, with his description: I think this is the first time in video game golf history that a game actually *felt* like golf. I'm just in awe of how the mechanics work, and yeah, while there might be niggly things here and there that could be tweaked, I suppose, the core game is better than any other Tiger game, period. I've always bought Tiger (except for 11), but never really got too deep into it, and got bored with it fairly quickly. Not gonna happen this time. The club alone will keep me absolutely engrossed. What I love is that I don't have the pressing urge to buy the 11 course pack right now. I bought it straight away last year and basically wasted 50 bucks, because I hardly played the game. I will absolutely, at some point, buy the pack, but I'm enjoying the in-box courses immensely right now, and feel no need to overwhelm myself with so many extra courses. BUT I can 'rent' those from time to time. That's just cool.

I think I'm going to dial down the difficulty for the Kinect, and use it just to 'enjoy' a round of golf, but I will stay at tourney difficulty with the controller. It's the only way to play. I'm getting challenged just enough to keep me coming back for more...which is the hallmark of a great game. Love it.

I do hope the DSP CC keeps up. I was going to jump with some XBL tourneys like the Club Pro tourney, but when I saw the aid settings and that the leader was at -87 I lost all interest.

So if I were to pick this up today is there room for me in the DSP "club"? I am getting the impression that there is a limit and it's full at this point...?!

Might not be a bad idea to slightly rename the DSP club, and add another one. Is that something that can be done, to accomodate everyone? Like, could I start another one with a different name?

Same here. Just popped it in and created a golfer who managed the heretofore unthinkable by being an uglier version of me.

Course management my friend and some lucky short game pitches and chips.

Agree this Tiger plays more like IRL Golf than any I have played on the console. However, there are some bugs that definitely need patching. Nearly everytime I try to play the game, it freezes after the Kinect loading screens and I have to hard reboot the 360.

As far as Kinect, I am done with it unless they patch it and make it more stable and play more like the controllers. Not sure they can do this in a patch, it might have to wait for 14, but this game with a controller is going to keep me going for quite a while.

Was disappointed to find in my CM that even though I had one all 3 Amateur tournaments, the Masters as an Amateur, and the 2 or 3 PGA TOUR events after the Masters, I was INELIGIBLE for the Players Championship at Sawgrass because I was not ranked in the top 125. Even though I had won every tournament I had entered, I still had to skip this event. That is WRONG and not at all adhering to the PGA TOUR rules. Not being ranked in the Top 125, I get, but not getting to play the event even though I had already won the Masters and the 2-3 PGA TOUR events prior to the Players is unthinkable, IMO.

I did change the course that was supposed to play at Pinehurst #2 and played TPC River Highlands and shot E in my fist round and am tied for 26th. Like the event at Els today in the OCC, what a grind this was to score. Man, I am really digging the challenge of this game! It has been a LONG time since I could say such a thing about a TW release, PC or console....

We're full with a waiting list 3 deep. I'm hoping this is something that can be changed with a patch in the near future.

Actually, they are very good players who are adept at using the arcade after shot spin to holeout numerous holes from the fairway in the easier modes. I absolutely HATE the arcade features, but you would be actually shocked at how many users play with those settings and think that is "fun"..... 8O

I'm not a current Club official, and this would be a little extra work, but for a format such as Dan's league proposal, it seems we could combine a second club's scores with the original's as long as the admins make sure they setup all tourney settings the exact same way, and set the same deadlines.

The two admins could report final scores and tie #s, and we could just merge them into one big standings list and post that here in thread.

Still wouldn't be as fun as seeing all names on one leaderboard, though.

You only need to enter Daily Tournaments of all levels to see this in action. The Amateur and Pro level tourneys consistently have several hundred entries, while the Tournament level difficulty tournaments have less than a hundred.

Even the Club Champion and Club Pro Invitational Tournaments are set at Pro level and allow post shot spin, power ups, pins, the whole 9.

I don't mean any disrespect to anyone but I am not managing 2 clubs. You or someone else is welcome to start another one but I am running the Cup out of the original club and going with that. I do feel bad that a handful of people can't get in but you need an almost full club to have club pros and a club champion to play in those events. A club with 5 people is not going to get the coin bonuses we are getting each day. I looked last night and I haven't played nearly as much as other people and I have like 28,000 coins or something absurd.

I can see who is active and inactive in the club and take measures if need be. For example that guy no one knew who he was joined and didn't play a single round. So obviously someone just reading these forums and jumping in. So I booted him to make room for Divot. I have hope this limit will be raised in the near future if enough people are making a stink about it but who knows.

Plus if running multiple Madden and NCAA leagues has taught me anything it is after the forum effect and newness wear off there is usually a 30-40% drop off in players. Oh and to be factually accurate I only have 1 person on the wait list now Darkbandit not three.

I also shot -2, but my FIR was around 80 percent and GIR was in the 60s, I think. Left two shots on the course with a three-putt and missing a 10-footer for bird.

The Els Course might be the easiest layout I have played so far in the game. The only thing challenging about today's tournament was the pin placement. But I'm not complaining. :) Still, someone is going to win this daily with a score in the -6 to -8 range.
