In case you've forgotten, my dearest James: My favorite team since 1982 has been the Edmonton Oilers. They've played in the Western Conference since 1979.

No way Emrick doesn't call play-by-play for NBC. My mute button awaits.
Why'd you have to go ahead and remind me? He is the absolute worst. It was so nice not having to listen to him extend sentences by using unnecessary descriptions on every single play.

More disgraceful officiating tonight as we watch them clean blood off of the ice but give no penalty. The high stick took place in the center of the play. Two refs not enough. Maybe go to three or four?

Disgusting....

I said Devils in 7, that means the Rangers will win tomorrow.. but if they don't, I'd be happy.

Listening to Jim Hughson call a game for CBC after hearing Emrick screech and blabber is like watching the scene from "The Ten Commandments" in which Chuck Heston parts the Red Sea.

Henrique's tenacity payed off in OT after a scramble in Lundqvist's crease. Is this the year for Marty Brodeur? Fifth trip to the finals.

Very cool to see him in the final.

You guys in Canada are so f***in lucky you dont have to listen to a VERY sleazy brain damaged mike milbury. My God he had the Rangers skating with the Cup after almost every f***in period in this series. Total d*****bag he is on every level. Inbreeding maybe in his family?

Anyway. I rant off topic. Gratz to the Devils and Brodeur. Im hoping to see a seven game series in the final.

One day, I'd like to see Milbury and Roenick punch the hell out of each other on national TV.

Thankfully for us, I have the option to turn Hughson and Simpson on instead.

By the way, Kovy's PP goal was a thing of beauty.

I hope your right Mizz but damned if the Devils didnt look like the Kings do at their best tonight. The only thing i see right now is the devils arnt putting it together for more than a period at a time, which the Kings didnt do in the last 2 either.

I have no idea how this is gonna play out. :|
Lets get it going already. :D

The fourth line for both teams have been outstanding. A few more veterans for the Devils can tilt the series to their favour. A. Henrique has been clutch for NJ in the post season and has a great future. Finally an Eastern team will get some aeroplan mileage for a change and if the series goes the distance it can definitely became a factor. Devis won both games during their regular season.

I think all the Devils boys will try to win it for Marty and then he will leave the game for good.
Kings will need to get their PP Going to have a chance.

Jersey in 6.

I'm rooting for the Kings. Always have despised the Devils. Plus Kings captain Dustin Brown is from Ithaca, N.Y., about 45 minutes from my house.

Dont hate either team. Hoping for a good-great series, multiple over time games, a seven game series and maybe one of those OTs in the seventh.

That would be magical television. Though I am rooting for JR :P

The only thing Mike would be able to do is to throw his stinky shoe at Jeremy's mug.

It should be a good finals, and I have nothing against seeing either team win.

Both teams are interesting stories.

The Devils signed Kovy to that huge deal, and were TERRIBLE in the first half last year. Now, it's Brodeur's last hurrah, and they seem unspectacular but they OWN the puck. They always seem to have the puck, and the opposition can rarely get the puck into threatening areas. It's impressive to watch, though these series victories haven't come completely easily and the Devils have blown multiple goal leads on a few occasions.

Regarding the Kings, they should've been good this year, but couldn't score. Now they are kicking ass and taking names, though I agree that their road to the cup has been fortuitous---Canucks were ripe for a downer, the Blues were a paper tiger this year, and Phoenix simply isn't a very talented team and ran out of juice. Still, domination is domination.

Really could go either way, but I'm leaning towards the Devils.

It would also keep the streak running that the team that eliminates the Flyers wins the cup to 4 years in a row....

Young gun goalie versus all-time legend -- I love it! I doubt any person in the country picked this matchup for the finals before the playoffs started, yet it is an intriguing matchup that should make for some great entertainment. I think the Kings will win it since they have been simply outstanding in the playoffs. The Devils are certainly hot, but they have not won as convincingly as the Kings, and have not played the level of competition the Kings did. I would love to see this series go 7, but I think the Kings will finish it in 5 or 6.

:D It seems that either the Flyers ouster or the Canucks ouster streak will continue this year, but not both. One must fall!

While I do most of my hockey posting on hfboards, it should come as no surprise to any here that I'll be pulling for my boys from Jersey. Way proud of them for getting this far, with seemingly a different hero every night. The fourth line that was assembled from 2 castoffs and a journeyman AHLer has been a revelation and coach PDB has made great between game adjustments so that our team has gotten better as each series has gone along. I'd just be a bit more confident if we could hold leads better.

I expect this match-up to provide some great hockey as I don't expect either team to run away with it. My head tells me that the Kings run of dominant play gives them the edge, but the Devils have overcome hot SCP teams twice before in the finals, in 1995 and 2003.

Can't wait for the puck to drop on Wednesday!
