that sucks. The only team thats a fit is the Raiders. With Davis out of the way, it would make sense for them to move back there. They still have a big following amongst the population there on So Cal. Just ask any stabbed Charger fan.

The owner already has plenty of beenies.Rodster wrote:St. Louis is considered a small market, L.A. isn't. From what i've read the owner is getting some beenies from the NFL if he decides to move the team. It's not only St. Louis as there are other teams who have shown interest in moving out West. Jacksonville is one team. I wish the other was the Dolphins

Re: NFL Season 2011-2012
The new labor agreement has $$$ side aside by both owners and players to entice an owner to move to "southern california" (does not say "los angeles" specifically to leave room for Orange County and the Inland Empire as options) and help with the sting of CA taxes. All the usual suspects are being mentioned as possible candidates (Jags, Vikings, Rams, and SD). I'm still skeptical it will happen and being a L.A. resident, could care less.Rodster wrote:St. Louis is considered a small market, L.A. isn't. What's interesting is Peter King said that London would be "just as likely" to be the destination as LA. Hard to imagine, but ya never know.

Re: NFL Season 2011-2012
Sounds like Mark Davis will use the threat to move to LA to get a stadium deal here.
The NFL would like the Raiders and 49ers to share a stadium but that talk seems to have died down and instead, the 49ers just posted PSL prices for club seats in the new stadium, on which they haven't even broken ground.
Holy cow, crazy prices. It's one thing for the NY teams, with all those bankers in the NY area, to charge those prices.
So if the Raiders expect similar kind of pricing, the Bay Area may not be able to afford two billion-dollar stadia with mid to high 5-figure PSLs.
With UCLA football program down and USC about to be hit with the brunt of the sanctions (loss of scholarships), this might not be a bad time for NFL football to re-establish itself in LA. Even with all the bandwagon fans down there, a newcomer NFL team should have a couple of years of grace period to become a winner.

Re: NFL Season 2011-2012
The problem is the Chargers are the only currently decent franchise among the potential candidates. I can't imagine the fickle LA sports fan getting excited about the Vikings or Rams in their current incarnations. Unless a team that moves to LA and quickly becomes the football Lakers, it will struggle and be back to where the Rams and Raiders were when they decided to leave.wco81 wrote:Sounds like Mark Davis will use the threat to move to LA to get a stadium deal here.

Sure Id love give the asshole a shot but if he is going somewhere else , the sooner the better. Rams suck at everything as it is. I can only imagine the dumb shits scrambling for a head coach and then a GM.
UGLY!
So primadonna f***...Pretend you have balls and make up your mind.
Re: NFL Season 2011-2012
The word is according to the Sporting News and profootballtalk.com is that he can go either way and would be successful with either team. He keeps going back and forth on his decision. What the Sporting News and the Miami Herald are saying is he's worried the team might get moved to the West Coast. And the dumbass IS from the West Coast.XXXIV wrote:MizzouRah wrote:Word around here is Jeff Fischer to the Dolphins...

The Dolphins owner is willing to pay him at least $7 million a year maybe more.

I hope that includes a daily blow job from the 0 time super bowl champion head coach.
Re: NFL Season 2011-2012
Talk about overpaid.
Re: NFL Season 2011-2012
He's definitely a very good coach, don't think he's worth $7 mil. But that's what happens when an owner has more money than sense and has no idea on how to run a football team. He's got a GM who's average at selecting talent and he's an ass kissing yes man and his buddy Carl Peterson ruined the Chiefs.wco81 wrote:Talk about overpaid.
Would you want to be the HC of that team?

That sounds like the kind of whiney behavior that he didn't like in Vince Young.
Re: NFL Season 2011-2012
Matt Moore did an admirable job this year, but if I had to choose between two bad teams, I'd pick the one with Bradford on it. Plus it's the worst division in football and would be the easiest one to win within two years.
Re: NFL Season 2011-2012
This article starts out with Fisher leaning on Miami and wants more money from the owner. After you finish reading it you have no clue what the phuck he wants. Might as well throw Indy into the mix now.

Rams and Dolphins fans, look at it this way: You could be a Bears fan watching your franchise conduct a GM search with the swiftness of Treebeard.

Brando this is the Bears they could f*** up a wet dream. I knew this was going to go bad when they said they wanted to find a GM that Lovie was comfortable with. That's not how you hire a GM. Basically the whole staff is comprised of friends of the head coach. I'm willing to give Tice a shot at OC but we'll just be stuck with a few more years of up and down Bears teams until house is cleaned from top to bottom.Brando70 wrote: Rams and Dolphins fans, look at it this way: You could be a Bears fan watching your franchise conduct a GM search with the swiftness of Treebeard.

Re: NFL Season 2011-2012
I'm not as irritated by that as I am by the lack of planning. I think there are a fair amount of GMs that would be fine working with Lovie and managing the Bears. There are also no slam dunk Theo Epsteins on the market (the Polians are overrated). It's that it feels like Ted Phillips just woke up one morning and decided, I should fire Jerry Angelo, without having any idea what to do after that.Danimal wrote:Brando this is the Bears they could f*** up a wet dream. Re: NFL Season 2011-2012
This whole thing about Fisher not wanting to go to Miami because of the QB is ludicrous. I actually think Matt Moore is better than Bradford...at least at this point. Sure, Bradford's ceiling may be higher (MAY), but if Miami does a Ditka and trades an entire draft to move up into the top 2 or 3 to get Luck or RGIII then I think Fisher's needs will be met. Personally I think Miami needs to go that route...you wanna make a splash Mr. Ross...do it.

Re: NFL Season 2011-2012
Miami's offensive and defensive lines also are better than the Rams.
Plus I disagree with the notion that St. Louis could win the NFC West in two years. I don't think the Niners are sinking into the septic tank any time soon. Harbaugh is a damn good coach, and he will attract free agents to San Fran.

Re: NFL Season 2011-2012
The speculation in Miami is that they might go Ditka to move up to get RGIII and some are saying he's as good a pick as Luck. But yeah Miami HAS a decent team already in place and most of their losses last year IIRC were like between 3-5 points.dbdynsty25 wrote:This whole thing about Fisher not wanting to go to Miami because of the QB is ludicrous. Re: NFL Season 2011-2012
But you've seen what you're going to get out of Moore, and that's not enough to win the AFC East. He is, at best, Kyle Orton, and I don't even think he's that good. Bradford played pretty well for a rookie, and he clearly was dogged by injuries this year. His upside is obviously a lot better than Moore's.dbdynsty25 wrote:This whole thing about Fisher not wanting to go to Miami because of the QB is ludicrous. The Dolphins are definitely the better team, but there are a lot of red flags. Was Reggie Bush's season a breakout or an anomaly? Do you want to take a job in the AFC East or the NFC West? I'd much rather take my chances against Harbaugh and Alex Smith than Hoodie and Brady.
Also, the Ditka trade is the dumbest move in draft history. A team should NEVER give up that much for one player in football, simply because the violent nature of the game ends careers so quickly. It's the draft equivalent of pushing all your chips on hard 10.
Re: NFL Season 2011-2012
They have a great defense but their offense is still highly suspect. Gore was not very good in the second half, Alex Smith is a an above-average QB but not a guy who can carry a team, and their best receiver is Michael Crabtree. This playoff game against the Saints will be a real gauge of how good they are.pk500 wrote:Plus I disagree with the notion that St. Louis could win the NFC West in two years. And Niners aside, the rest of the West is pretty bad. The Jets may have imploded but they are still a formidable team. The Cards and Seahawks are bad teams with records inflated by playing in the NFC West.
