The DA that prosecuted Ray Lewis was under federal review for some time for lowering(lesser included) the charges of black defendants in Atlanta.

Here is an SI article from 12 years ago.. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/footba ... erdict_ap/

What kills me is how the press handled Vick vs how they handled Ray Lewis. If Ray killed some dogs, he might of actually served some jail time.

- and I am not defending either action.

I already hate ESPN for their oober power over college sports.. this is just another reason to hate them.

Because no worldwide media likes a redemption story better than the American press. Just look at the Armstrong situation: Every media outlet is slobbering over his confession, which is just a vain attempt to get his ban lifted so he can compete professionally in footraces and triathlons.

I'm equally sickened by the deification of Lewis as a citizen worthy of reverence. He's an incredible football player who also was complicit in murder.

The American media forgets because redemption sells. I'm not buying it.
Family and friends of the victims aren't buying it either.

Jesus, that d*uchebag in the videos would spontaneously combust like one of Spinal Tap's drummers if he was a longtime Bills' fan.

Wait, why are the Bears hiring CFL coaches now? I mean sure, the Dolphins best player is a CFL guy, but I didn't think any decent coaches would be coming from there. Guess it'll be interesting to see how that turns out.

It's not like all he has done is work in the CFL. I am happy about the hire, personally.

I would have been happy with either Trestman or Arians. As the search has gone on I've heard nothing but very favorable things about Trestman from former players, opposing coaches etc. I really like the fact he's overwhelmingly perceived as being smarter than the average coach, as well as the fact that he's not a screaming idiot.

He's got almost 20 years as an NFL coach, so it's not like he's been spending his time arguing with hockey fans in the wilds of Alberta. The CFL thing bothers me not at all, and I actually like the fact that he has actual HC experience.

He could fail, of course. But I think that everything that Emery has done since arriving engenders only optimism: Strong draft, brings in Marshall, fires Lovie, great explanation for what he was looking for in a HC, particularly strong and thorough coaching search etc. It's an unfamiliar feeling as a Bears fan, but I'm pleased with the GM's work.

Bad news? Trestman's an attorney. I've yet to meet one of those guys who didn't think he was always the smartest guy in the room. :)

I have no idea how he will work out as far as I am concerned its a crap shoot picking a coach. However it was hilarious watching the media campaign here over the last few weeks it went from WTF is this guy to every person saying he was the right guy for the job and most of the meat head Bears fans thinking we just got the coach we've been waiting for. Never under estimate the media influence on the Chicago sports fans opinion.

Smart choice. The league is all about offense as you know and M. Trestman had great success juicing up the best out of his players in the last 5 seasons he coached Montreal. He also has good NFL knowledge as he was an offensive coordinator with a few teams before and will get the best out of Jay Cutler which Bears fans will be happy.

A class act coach.

Unless one of those moves involved getting 5 starters on the O-line it won't matter
