Sorry rule 2a should of read 3rd place, not 4th place. I would go edit it but the edit button for my post seems to be missing.

I don't like how those that don't finish a full multi-round tourney are left in their scoring place despite having been DQ'ed. (It goes 1, 2, DQ, 4, etc...)

Not sure if the (useless?) money is affected by this too, but it's certainly aesthetically displeasing.

Love the season idea, Dan. I'm in for sure!

Just threw up a 4 under par 68 to take over 4th place on the leader board for the daily at Black Wolf. I had one double and, I believe 3 bogeys. If I would have stayed hot I could have sniffed the top spot! Alas, I choked but I'll take the 68...best round yet! I really liked Black Wolf. Some long par 5's. Tuning up for the Masters!

Nice going Teal!

My hat is off to Orthostud....he posted a -9 and looks like he will win this one. I had it to -9 at 13, but hit two drives in the water when I should have played it safe....nice score Ortho and the rest of you!
Thanks Divot. Had it to -10 but then followed with a bogey. I was very happy with the round.

On a side note I was playing in the live daily with the green grid on and went eagle, eagle to start! I was thinking I was going to finally get up there with the Geard2gameUK fellow that is ALWAYS at the top. Needless to say I drifted back a touch and finished a few strokes off the lead.

Danimal the SPortsPage Cup sounds AWESOME!! I think your 2a rule does make it fair to everyone.

I like the idea that they have a Club Pro tourney but not sure I like all the damn aids that go with it. Hell I have never used the spin control before!!

If a spot opens up I will PM you. Right now we have 1 open spot but a few people ahead of you on the wait list. I've sent the first person a PM to see if they are still interested.

Ortho...-9 is an awesome score at Black Wolf. Freakin' long course. Tip of the cap my friend. I was just glad to get under par!

It all sounds good to me Dan. Great idea and execution should be pretty straight forward as well.

The more i play this game and the more I think about it, I think chip shots are still not right. I think over on OS I saw Divot mention that the chip shot animation is going to be patched into the game, so I wonder if that includes chip shot swings?

I just find the ball pops up into the air too much on chips, and i wonder if that's a function of the "normal" swing animation it uses, instead of a real chip shot where a golfer basically is using a putting stroke.......

Anyway, still really like this game. I broke down and got the 11 course pack tonight myself. I guess i'm jonesin for golf....... can't wait for the range down the street to open up so i can go hit some balls for real!

Can't think of a game that has gathered so much interest in awhile in this community, and with the daily tourneys and weekly events, I hope it'll stick around for a long time.

New animation is out for PS3 users and soon for 360 users....you can make the chip anything you want it with by adjusting the ball back or forward in your stance as well as using the strike meter to have it roll any way you feel it should.

Dan, this is awesome. :D

For my first round with the game, I jumped right in to the daily at Blackwolf. I shot an 80, and am at the bottom of the leader board, but hey, it was my first round!! Notched an eagle on one hole with a chip in, so that was cool. Wish it would save the replays of those great shots...

So did I just play on the hardest skill level? I noticed there were no meters for swings or putts? Is that how all the rounds will be? Not complaining, just gonna take a while to get a feel for the short game...

-9 at Blackwolf for me too, but Ortho beat me by about 30 points on the tiebreak,

I was a stud on the way out, getting to -8 after 9, with an Eagle on 8. Tightened up on the way back in, though, and literally felt my own damn heartbeat -not the controller vibrating crap- when I felt my time running out. Didn't move to -9 until 14, and then I just couldn't pick up the last stroke. I lipped out of the bird on 17, and my heart sank.

Divot inspired me on this one, calling it for Ortho before I had even downloaded the course!

(Turns out he was right, though. )

I'll have to play around more in the practice facility, but i think it just "feels" wrong to me right now. I think the animation is what's throwing me off..... so we'll see.

Are they waiting for a patch to put in the new animation on the 360? Just curious why PS3 already has it.....

That FedEx Cup idea is MEGA, Dan. Bad-ass.

Thanks for your creativity, dedication and organization. :)

Yeah, the animation is not correct when you chip, it feels more like you're scooping the ball instead of hitting downward but I am encouraged by the patch that Divot mentioned aboved.

Dan, the cup idea you've got is fantastic! It will add a lot of spice to what's going on with the club. The structure will definitely decide a true champion.

Yeah Dan, thanks for taking the time to set all this up.

Regarding chipping, I don't look at the animation which is all messed up. By using the right stick before the shot though to adjust loft, I've gotten pretty good at chipping. I can consistently roll it up to within 5 feet or less, and hole them occasionally. The 30 or 40 yard pitches though still make me very nervous.

I get where you are coming from as the pitching/chipping animations have been poor in the past. This is the first year in a long time though that you can dial up the right shot results even if the animation isn't quite right. This is something they are working to improved as they improved the putting animation greatly this year.

What I fail to understand is how they (the developers) had the animation right in TW 2003 and it horribly went wrong in later editions? And they have had trouble with it since. In TW 2003 and 2004 I could properly gauge the length of the putt just by watching the animation.

When I see the off putting animations I don't know whether i'm going to hit it too hard or if it's going to come short of the cup?

The chip animation is definitely off, but I have to admit I do all of my non-putt swing timing completely by feel, not looking at any of the animations at all. Even putting, I only use the animation distance when hitting shots to the furthest 30% or so.

I'm having a really hard time gauging how elevation changes affect the distance this year. Deep drops with wind are killing me. I just did the Augusta Par 3 for my career, and the island hole 8 knocked me out of the round twice!

My cag is up to 60 power now, but it wasn't enough for some drives at Blackwolf. Had to choose alternate paths a couple of times when I couldn't reach the preferred fairway shot. I ended up doing well at the course by going conservative; the course was daring me to go for certain 'Boy, I think I can just make that one' shots all round long.

Because the motion capture date from the PS2/Xbox versions had to be completely re-written for the 360/PS3 is what I am told and they spent a great deal of time updating the mo-caps for all the golfers for this version.
