Not me. I love the move. Never been a fan of DJax. Great talent but I like rooting for guys I actually like. I don't like him. Step left and keep moving. Eagles can get a very nice WR early in the draft.Danimal wrote:I was expecting to see some outrage from out Eagles fans today.

Re: NFL 2013-14
The Eagles move seems like an incredibly stupid overreaction. DeSean Jackson has done some dumb things and can be a prick, but 1300 yards receiving is 1300 yards receiving. And despite his attitude, he has been by far the best WR that team has had since TO in the Super Bowl year. To dump someone after a productive season AND take a $6 million cap hit because the LAPD says he has gang affiliations doesn't seem like a savvy GM move.
If the Eagles know more than what the news reports say, than I can see them making the move. But I also think they would release as much info as possible to justify what they did. Instead, seems like a combination of being nervous after the Aaron Hernandez case and the Eagles using this as an excuse to drop DJ because he doesn't get along with the coaches.

Re: NFL 2013-14
They didn't want to pay him $12.5 million.
Re: NFL 2013-14
That is probably most of it. Bill Barnwell explained it pretty well over at Grantland:wco81 wrote:They didn't want to pay him $12.5 million.

Still, it seems very strange to me that they would dump Jackson even with attitude problems. He had the second-highest receiving total in club history last year. I would think $6 million in dead money from releasing him plus the loss of performance would have postponed a move like this for a season.
Maybe more will come out about the gang stuff, but with a guy like DeSean Jackson, it seems like a major criminal problem would have been uncovered by now. He has some shady characters in his personal life but there's nothing tying him to any crimes.

There is the door DJax. I love that the Birds took a stand.

Re: NFL 2013-14
It's probably more a case of Kelly not having as high an opinion of Jackson as Reid, who drafted him.
Especially at the cap number he was scheduled to get next season.
Kelly may think his system is so great, he can plug anyone in, especially with a deep WR draft. First he drafts Barkeley and then acquires Sanchez, who has been a disaster in the NFL.

NFL Draft, I'm pumped!
After thinking for the past few weeks, here is what I want from the Rams today:
#2 Khalil Mack (put him at MLB and move Laurinaitis to WLB)
#13 Best OT available
What do you think XXXIV - you are on the clock!

I want Sammy Watkins sooooo badly. We need a legit number 1 receiver.MizzouRah wrote:NFL Draft, I'm pumped!

With pick 13, take the tackle from ND.

Also a Watkins guy with that #2 pick.... Need a BIG WR. Need a #1 WR.... Need a guy for Sammy. Last chance saloon for him.
At #13 I would also think/hope they would take best OLineman available.
