If I recall, last season the playoffs seeds for round one were right but round two was incorrect. . .so who knows. . .TCrouch wrote:To play? Not sure what you mean.
If you mean to play them, then if Cleveland (#4 seed) beats Pittsburgh (#6 Seed), the Browns would travel to #2 Oakland, while #5 Denver would travel to #1 Jets. So it's possible.
But who knows if the seeds actually work correctly.

Entering the playoffs as the 6th seed in the AFC, the Steelers who finished 7-1 on the road in the regular season win their opening round playoff game in Cleveland 31-20. The Browns received the opening kickoff and put a long drive together that ended with a Jamal Lewis 1 yard td run. The Steelers would tie it up in the 2nd quarter on this Willie Parker 12 yard run:

After Cleveland would go up on a 29 yard field goal, Willie Parker would score on a 3 yard td run to put the Steelers ahead 14-10. Cleveland would add a 34 yard field goal as time expired in the first half.
Pittsburgh would score on their opening drive of the second half on a 23 yard run from LeRon James:

The Steelers would score again in the 3rd quarter on a 1 yard run from Carey Davis to go up 28-13. Cleveland would then score on a 10 yard pass from Brady Quinn to Mohamed Massaqoui to make the score 28-20. Pittsburgh added a field goal in the 4th quarter and that ended the scoring for the game.
LeRon James was player of the game with 20 carries for 182 yards and 1 td. Willie Parker finished with 14 carries for 44 yards and 2 tds. The Steeler defense held Jamal Lewis to just 43 yards on 16 carries. Ben Roethlisberger finished 7 out of 11 for 123 yards 0 tds and 1 int. Brady Quinn was 22 out of 32 for 228 yards with 1 td. Good game nozzleman.
Pittsburgh will next take on the Jets in the AFC divisional round. This will be their second meeting this season as New York defeated the Steelers 24-21 in Pittsburgh in week 15.

I've got a plan for Heyward-Bey it's called releasing him to the FA pool LOL
Looking forward to the challenge, I've got some new ideas we'll see how they pan out.
Still not sure why Bailey can't cover him. They have almost identical numbers in speed and Acceleration. Champ has a great press and man score as well. I can only assume there is some hidden age thing I am unaware of.

Cowboys 49 Saints 13
Behind the greatest single game rushing performance of all time, the Dallas Cowboys dismantled the New Orleans Saints 49-13. Felix Jones carried the ball 13 times for 314 yards and 5 TDs and now holds the single game record for the most yards rushing in a game. Jones also added a 10 TD reception from Tony Romo giving him 6 TDs for the game. Jones had a chance for a 6th rushing TD but was denied twice from the 1 yard line in the 2nd quarter. Jones had TDs of 37, 64. 72, 61, and 47 yards.
The Cowboys will now move on to play the winner of the Bears/Redskins game to see who will earn the right to play in the Super Bowl.
I really don't know what to say. I ran a toss play with Jones in the first quarter that will occasionally net me big gain, but gets stuffed a lot as well. He busted it for a TD. Came back in the 2nd quarter and ran it again and he busted it again. I thought on the third try there is no way this is happening. Popped it again. Numbers 4 and 5 were just me in disbelief trying to see if they would stop it. After he scored the 5th TD, I did try the play one more time and they stopped him for a three yard gain.
Not sure what was going on, but on a couple of them there was just wide open field and a couple of them I made a couple of sweet moves to get him in open field, but there was really nothing special about this play. Jones does have 96 speed so when he gets open field he is gone. Anyway, I uploaded all 5 of the TD runs if Danimal wants to post them.

Raiders get more than expected from Denver in AFC Divisional Playoff
Everything went right for the Denver Broncos early in their 3rd game of the season with the Oakland Raiders.
They led 10-0 midway through the second quarter.
They had an explosive running game keyed by Knowshon Moreno's 55 yard scamper on the opening possession of the game.
Their new defense had completely shut down the Oakland Raider passing attack, the most effective downfield offense in the league.
And yet, somehow, it all came undone.
"I'm not sure what to say right now...I'm just stunned.", Moreno said in the locker room after the game. Knowshon did everything he could to bring the Broncos their first victory over the TCrouch-led Silver & Black in the DSPFL, carrying 20 times for 155 yards in the contest.
But somewhere along the way, the Raider defense stiffened, and the Raider running game exploded.
After a 90 yard first quarter, Moreno would see just 65 in the remaining three. Kelly James completed just 12 of 23 passes for 164 yards, with no scores and 3 interceptions.
Counterpart Dane Morrow had his most pedestrian game of the season, completing 8 of 12 passes for 52 yards and 1 touchdown. So how did the Raiders win?
Darren McFadden.
For the third straight game against the Broncos, the Raider workhorse pounded out a victory--this time carrying 31 times for 294 yards and 3 scores. Denver had no answer for McFadden at any point in 2010. In three games against the Broncos in the 2010 campaign, "Run DMC" tallied 78 carries for 694 yards and 7 touchdowns.
However, Denver left either the Jets or Steelers with a going away present as the Raiders eliminated them from the playoffs--on McFadden's 31st carry, they snapped his wrist, an injury that requires an 8 week recovery time.
This leaves Oakland with the much-less-explosive tandem of Justin Fargas and Michael Bush as the primary backs for the AFC Championship game against either the Pittsburgh Steelers or the New York Jets, and Fargas just returned from a 4-week injury himself.
At the end of the day, that was the story of the game--319 rushing yards for Oakland, and 3 turnovers forced (to one Dane Morrow sack/strip fumble lost), and a 38-16 victory after trailing 13-7 at halftime.
"We will not quit", Coach Crouch exclaimed after the game. "Down 13-7 or 20-0, we will not quit. We will fight through the adversity and force our opponent to play from gun to gun to eliminate us from the playoffs."
It was the first real adversity the Raiders had faced all season, facing a game Denver squad that obviously knew them well after two shellackings in the regular season. But in the end, they made the plays down the stretch, outscoring the Broncos 31-3 in the second half to to punch their ticket to their second straight AFC Championship game.

Yeah, Danimal mentioned that. I completely abandoned the pass because his pass D was so solid, and went exclusively to the run. Worked up a little lead, 21-13. Then he goes on a lengthy, solid drive and kicks a FG to make it 21-16.
Returned the KO for a TD to instantly take the wind out of Denver's sails, and they never recovers. From that moment on, nobody could tackle, nobody could shed blocks, and nobody could stop the Raiders pass rush/run defenders from plowing through the Denver offense.
It was pretty bizarre, but a fun game. KR TD was a HUGE swing, though.

I haven't had a chance to comment, but the game with the Raiders was very enjoyable. i guess i could move to another team and spare myself the beatings, but I like the challenge.
That's why I like the league in general, I learn something every time I play. It's also the first Madden where using some football smarts will keep you competitive. I really hope they add coach only mode next season, even though I've really enjoyed working on my stick skills, you can't replicate tackling against the cpu when preparing for a good player.
The Raider game came down to me making some bad tackles, Terry is a beats to stop when he is in the open field. Also Terry making some good adjustments, specifically going with the run. His Tackles were sealing the corners on my rush LB's and that was trouble. The run to put him up 14-13 was just flat out terrible execution with my stick skills.
The Kick return was a broken tackle and then no one there to help, and while it was the big momentum swing in the game (and believe it there is hidden momentum in this game) it didn't feel as bad as me making terrible blunders with my tackling. So what i have done is listen to every tip Terry or anyone else gives me and I have practiced them.
But being able to use match ups is the thinking part of the game I like. Just changing my defense was not the sole reason I had success stopping the pass. I looked at who was beating me and made changes. I put the right DB's on the right guys. I had certain LB's keyed on backs.
Anyway I look forward to Free Agent week I think it is going to be fun.
