For me it's simple every time their is a MP game the majority of my friends get it on the 360 I mean it's not even close it's like 90%+ so there lies my decision.
Same thing for me. It actually felt really weird to pick up Batman for my PS3.

I was going to get Batman for the PS3( Joker download) but when I went to the store I controllered out of it to the 360.
I guess outside racing games it really shouldnt matter but there is something to be said for what you get used to. Comfort level.

So what's the overall feeling on difficulty settings? I played a few games on PRO, and it was pretty much easy to win. The scores were low and the AI had ZERO running game. So, I set it on ALL PRO, and now both sides are scoring like crazy (35 to 41 type stuff). The shootouts are fun but not realistic at all. Thoughts??

I'm not a slider guy at all, but it seems to me that All Pro is the best difficulty level out of the box. If I were to tinker with the sliders it would only be to prevent some of the more ludicrous broken tackle situations. If you're going to put gang tackling in the game, I think you have to make sure that you don't regularly see average RB's busting free from 4-5 tacklers!

I saw a lot of shootouts at first as well, but as I learned the defensive game a bit better I've seen much more realistic scores. OTOH good QB's basically can't be stopped sometimes.

I agree with Rob. I've kept the game at All-Pro default as I'm finding it fairly challenging, and also varied. I've had huge turnover fests, games where both teams protected the ball, offensive shootouts, defensive slugfests...you get the picture. I'll probably tweak after I get more experience with the game, but for right now, I'm finding it entertaining out of the box.

Im part of this party. The more games you play the more variety you will see.

I agree as well. IMO unless you've played 50 complete games at a difficulty level you shouldn't be messing with sliders. Anything less than 50 games is too small of a sample size. I am sticking with default All Star for now with 15-minute quarters and a 20-second accellerated clock. This has been producing great results offline and every time I think there might be something that needs to be adjusted there will be a 5-game streak where I'm proven wrong. I think a lot of people aren't willing to be patient when it comes to sliders anymore.

It's like...*really* hard to complete the deep ball in this game. Do you guys ever see a receiver blow by a CB on a streak? It shouldn't happen all the time, but man it would be nice to see it happen every so often.

Maybe's it's the sliders.

I've done it a few times. One time with Carson Palmer, I sort of accidentally threw a ball that went 70 yards in the air and was caught by Coles over the shoulder for a TD. But actually Coles was tackled right when he caught the ball so it wasn't like he was all alone. I had tapped the button ever so quickly, sort of twitching as I was waiting and waiting to throw to a different receiver, and that ball just took off like a rocket and it just kept going, deep enough for Coles to outrun his corner and the safety.

I feel like it's in there but you've got to get it right and it's hard to recognize when that is. And then you need time to throw. For me the biggest frustration is how long the receivers get held at the line when they get jammed. I mean, it's downright holding going on.

I've seen a BUNCH.

Mostly because JaMarcus has a cannon from hell, and all of my receivers are from 97 to 93 speed. It's definitely possible, but not easy to do.

You can go deep but it is not easy. The jamming can be brutal and the frequent blitzing can make it hard to get enough time, but for me the biggest problem is fooling the safeties. I get my WR free on deep plays a fair amount, but playaction and pump fakes don't fool the safeties very often.

Having said that, you can go deep, and the CPU will chuck it too. It's just that the straight streaks are not very effective.

Incidentally, I suspect that many posters at OS received a different game than I did. Madden 10 has issues for sure, but judging but what posts I could actually understand, you'd think EA delivered a Cleveland Steamer in a plastic case. Whereas I'm actually surprised at how much the game improved over 09. I planned to write off 10 because I figured it would take the new team at least 2 years to make a playable game, but the demo intrigued me, and now I find myself itching to play Madden a lot for the first time since the XBox days.

I complete 3-4 long balls every game. The key is that you don't need nearly the separation that you would think. If the WR & DB are neck-and-neck, throw it up there! You'll come down with more than you think. This is the NFL, where single coverage on a good WR is no coverage at all.

Play as ARZ. I've had a few 45+ yard bombs with Boldin and Fitz.

They really need a patch for the holding penalties on FGs. I have lost 2 games already due to this.

The only other gripe I have with the game is that there seems to be way passes being completed in the middle of the field. I use some form of zone with at least 1 defender in the middle most of the game now. Not many passes going to Wrs on out patterns.

Ok, now back to Batman :)

I think that's been in the game in one shape or another over the years. While I think it's the best yet, there's a reason why someone is a #3 or #4 WR. Can't get seperation, bad at patterns, young, can't make catches in the clutch etc. This side of football isn't quite in the game yet.

But it's also madden I think, the AI throws to who's open not really the best receiver.

I'll second that. Seems like every game, there's a receiver I barely even know who has bigger games than their stars. For ex, played Seattle last night. TJ Housh & Branch had 1 catch each, but some dude named "J. Owens" tore it up with 9 catches and 2 TDs.

There are 2 video blogs posted today that talk about the patches that are upcoming and also hit upon some other generally asked questions. It sounds like Patch 2 (which is still some time away) will be the one that most people care about, but the broadcast cam made it into patch 1 and I couldn't be happier.

Gotta admit the broadcast cam looks pretty sweet. I might have to try another coach only franchise with it. Don't know if I could actually play with it.

What do you think, Dan...can you and I get in a game online using the broadcast cam once it's released? Maybe preview the Steelers-Bears week 2 matchup? I'm sure you're a lot better Madden player than I am overall, so it would probably turn out to be a fair matchup. :D

You're on the PS3 aren't you? If not then why aren't you in our online franchise. Otherwise I would love to play you a game. I don't know that I am a better Madden player then anyone, having knowledge of football and strategy doesn't make you a good Madden player :)

I feel bad though because I have a feeling I am about to break your heart. Please take this with a grain of salt because AI didn't follow this as close as you, but will broadcast be available online? I thought it was offline only.

EA announces Madden 10 for the iPhone and iPod Touch.

Funny thing in the demo is hot routes but you draw the routes on the screen presnap and they can be any routes so you get these slow-developing wheel route types of patterns.

Good point, on both counts...I do have PS3 and for some reason was thinking you were PS3 as well (could've sworn I heard you talking about The Show or Unchartered in the past). In any event, I also am unsure about online...you very well could be right in that it's offline only this year. Even if it is offline only, I'm certainly not going to complain (for a change). :)

Like that EA included the Broadcast Cam, but they didn't follow through. The camera is on the wrong side of the field. Logo is upside down
