I was thinking of getting an iPad but one thing that's holding me back is what DB said a long time ago, that Android brings customization. I have my Samsung Galaxy Tab desktop setup just the way I like it with all kinds of news feeds etc. And the Pulse app rocks.
I would miss that moving to an iPad. The one thing that the iPad brings to the table is that everybody has some sort of app for the thing.
Rod...that's 100% true...but even I can admit that the iPad is a better tablet overall. It just does more...and does it well. The only thing I truly miss when I'm using it is the gmail integration and syncing with my google account. That isn't as important on my tablet as it is on my phone which is why I doubt I'll ever use an iPhone. The android ecosystem is just better suited for phones. Maybe in a year or so when developers are used to using ice cream sandwich on the tablets then we can revist it but for the most part this war is over and iPad has proven its worth. The biggest advantage to me is the ability for it to work with the appletv. It is a fantastic experience.
One thing I hope everyone realizes that I really could care less who's logo is on the product...I just want the best product for me. That's not to say android doesn't have good tablets...they do. The transformer prime w ics is fantastic and it fixes a lot of the issues w honeycomb. I just prefer the usability of the iPad.

I've got three 32gb LTEs ordered. One for the wife (Verizon) that I paid for and two for work (at&t) that work paid for. So yes.
The one thing I'm shocked about is how much I use the iPad. I was one of the "where does it fit in my life" guys...and eventually I found enough stuff that it did well that I found myself pulling it out even before I pulled out my MacBook Air 11". Luckily I use my MacBook everyday at work so it's not like I wasted my money on that...but I really shouldn't have upgraded from my 13" Pro (2008) to it for portability. That was a mistake I guess since from a performance perspective they are almost identical.

I want one but I just can't complete the checkout. My problem is I really dig the Android OS on a tablet and it's not even running ICS which is better than the version of Android i'm currently on. My Samsung does about everything I want and I just dig all the Live News feeds on the main page. If you're a news junkie I highly suggest Pulse.
I will probably get an iPad, not sure when. I realize the iPad is more industry standard and has all the killer apps for it. So that's a plus.
The timing of the iPad is a little unfortunate. The chips they are using for the CPU and the LTE modem will be better later this year. They almost doubled the battery capacity to achieve the same battery life because it looks like they missed out on a big die shrink.
But that's Apple's strategy, to release iPad in the spring, iPhone in the summer or fall and this year, probably a new iPad Touch (after not changing last year). The question is if Apple might release a new iPad in the fall as well, which may be why they change the name of the product and the chip (instead of A6, they called it A5x).
The big advantage the iPad has is all the apps. designed for it, though it may take awhile for them to be updated to be optimized for the new display. Android tablets will be updated several times this year and they should get more efficient and powerful chips. They should be able to target lower price points to compete better against iPad.
I'm not worried about the whole processor thing. Dual core A5 w/ the quad graphics chip is as good as we're going to get for the forseeable future. It'll compete with Quad Tegra3s, so that's all that really matters. The timing is what it is.
If Asus comes out with a 7" $250 "Nexus" tablet with stock ICS...I'm pretty certain I'll get another Android tablet...but right now, the iPad is my daily driver.
I just picked up the iPad 2. I was going to get the galaxy 7.7, however he Verizon stores won't sell it at full retail. I'll probably wait until next year to pick up the new new iPad lol
Does anyone with a Galaxy Tab (any of the models) want the OEM Samsung USB Adapter? I've got an extra that I'm just going to toss out if no one wants it. PM me your address if you're interested. I'll cover the 2 bucks shipping too cuz I am just THAT nice of a guy.

If they don't, it's a lateral move from the original Galaxy Tab 10.1 with the exception of shipping with ICS. They definitely cheapened them up. If I was to get an Android tablet, it would be Transformer Prime without a doubt. It's pretty much the only worthy tablet with regards to performance and functionality right now. But it's more expensive.
I'd sit tight and wait for the Galaxy Tab that will release in the next few months with the iPad 3 level screen resolution. It really does make a huge difference when you have a higher resolution, so I certainly wouldn't buy any tablets with the current 1280x800 res when there are bigger and better screens in the pipeline.
I was thinking of the 7 inch tablet, 10 is still a bit too large for my use! Having Ice cream Sandwich on it out of the box seems nice, how does that OS compare to Honeycomb on tablets?
I know there is another one supposed to be coming out later this year, the Asus Memo, that is supposed to be pretty nice as well, and with a lower price.
If you get a 7" tablet, go with the Galaxy Tab 7.7...that's the one with the awesome high res screen. The rest of them are pretty poor in terms of resolution...even my personal favorite, the Tab 7.0 Plus which I had for a few months last year.
As for ICS compared to Honeycomb...it's no contest. If you can find one with ICS, definitely go that way. Honeycomb is a turd compared to ICS.
