I've played the beta a little bit more.
The game runs much better for me on Sawgrass than on Pebble, which made it a bit more enjoyable.
I like how it's briskly paced and you can play a round quickly anywhere (assuming you have access to install Unity web player, which isn't always the case). As for physics, too early to judge, but seems similar to the Wii version to me.
It also appears that powering up your character will take FOREVER.
At some point I need to narrow down my golfing--I have TW'10 on Wii, PGA Tour Online Beta, and PGA 2000 and TW 2004 installed on my PC.

I'm sorry, but I was expecting way more. I was picturing a game like the PC version, but just in a online/browser interface. I understand it's a beta, but it looks like EA has a lot of work ahead of them to get anywhere close to their older PC offerings.DivotMaker wrote:I think we all "get it" that you don't like TW Online....I have the iPhone version of TW and TW Online is far better even with most of the final content missing....different strokes for different folks.JackB1 wrote:I think I would rather play the cell phone version of TW than this one.
OK i've been having a different experience with the beta. I've been enjoying actually. As far as performance goes i'm running TW Online on a underpowered laptop and Pebble Beach plays and looks great even on all low settings.
My only issues with the game relates to the 3 click system and putting. The 3 click system doesn't feel natural and it causes me to be inconsistent because I can't properly gauge the speed of the meter.
Wrt, putting I find the meter doesn't seem to match the distance. For instance I was trying to make a 14ft putt and I let the meter run a little past the flag on the meter and I still wound up short.
The other thing that happened to me is that Putt Preview stopped working after using it several times at Pebble Beach. All I saw on the top left of the screen next to the "Menu" drop down flag another selection which said "Putt Preview x0". I clicked on it and it didn't do a thing. If I pressed "P" on the keyboard putt preview was no longer available.
I sent that in as a bug as I wasn't sure what caused it or how to solve it.

Green speed and elevation changes alter putting distance, as the flag indicator in the meter itself does not account for those variables for you. If the hole is several inches above your ball, you will have to fill your meter significantly past the exact hole length noted on the meter, and vice versa for downhill putts.Rodster wrote:Wrt, putting I find the meter doesn't seem to match the distance. That's not a bug. Every round you are allowed to use putt preview 3 times. When you start a round next time you'll notice the indicator in the corner says putt preview x3.Rodster wrote:The other thing that happened to me is that Putt Preview stopped working after using it several times at Pebble Beach. Well, no one is denying EA has alot of work left to do before release. This should not even be called a "Beta" as it is clearly in Alpha stage as there is a great deal of content not even in the game yet....JackB1 wrote:I'm sorry, but I was expecting way more. Comparing tiger 09 to tiger 10 for 360, is there a clear cut winner? I love 09 after a bunch of time playing it, but it sounds like tiger 10 is nothing more than 09 with new courses. I also have heard that the physics is messed up. My friend who shoots in the high 50s and low 60s on tiger 09(he's really good) said there are times where you hit a perfect approach but still end up either 30 yards short or 20 yards long, and it's clearly the game. Are there issues in 10?
I have to admit I am warming up to it a little bit. I think once we have access to the full game, it will be a lot more enjoyable. The 3 click method actually isn't bad when you are on a laptop with no mouse. I am not sure how well Trueswing would work anyway with a touchpad and your finger? If you are traveling somewhere and only have access to your laptop, TW Online would surely be a welcome diversion. But if you are stting at home and have other TW versions lying around, you wouldn't forsake them to play TW online. But it has it's place.DivotMaker wrote:Well, no one is denying EA has alot of work left to do before release. No you can buy more at $500 per preview. That's where I think the idea wasn't properly implemented.JackB1 wrote:I really like that idea. Adds more strategy as to when to use your putt previews. So if you want 18 putt previews, you have to spend $7,500 per round.Rodster wrote:No you can buy more at $500 per preview. That's crazy. Do you buy them before the round or can you get them as needed?

No they stay with the character. I don't have enough money yet to buy that many putt previews, LOL.JackB1 wrote:So if you want 18 putt previews, you have to spend $7,500 per round.Rodster wrote:No you can buy more at $500 per preview. I have not witnessed any of the behavior your friend describes in TW10 360...far and away a better game than 09, especially with the Live Tournaments which are continuously being tweaked based upon community feedback at the EA Tiger forums....been out of the country since July 1 and having serious withdrawals right now....and in the 2+ weeks I have had TW10 before I left, I had played more of it than all of 09....fletcher21 wrote:Is it true that the yardage is really jacked up, where you hit a perfect shot and it goes wayy long or wayy short?
