Totally agree, Rob. A guy on my indoor team is a big Reds fan as well and we were lamenting on this season - in August if you'd offered us this position on January 28th I'd be fairly content - but now in light of where we were and the chances we've had it's incredibly disappointing.

The fat waiter is right tho, they may not have the talent to win it.

What has happened to Riera ? I was a fan at first then all of a sudden he cant beat a guy plays negative and looks like hes a step slow.
So they are back to no threat down the left, dont get me started on Babel he doesnt belong there his touch is worse than Torres's and thats not good for a winger.
Mascherano is a taco short of a combo platter i think i hate that guy like i hated Sean Avery as a king.
Liverpool need a do over, get rid of Manuel, the guy who doesnt know how important the Fa cup is to England and Stadler and waldorf from ownership, two guys who play footy every weekend they are.

Mind you who blames them for not forking out more money with the way Rafa wastes it CoughKeancough.

Heres to Torres ,Stevie G, Reina and Shabby if hes fit ever to carry us thru a season where it looks like Villa is the only side who wants to win the thing.

Harry Redknapp comes out and says he's going to play a B side for the FA Cup and the media doesn't say a word about him disrespecting the FA Cup. Rafa played subs against Burnley in 2005 and got crucified. Anyway, Manuel (I love Fawlty Towers) has won the FA Cup for us.

Loath as I am to defend Honest 'Arry, he did end up playing almost his best XI against MU. People also usually only get grief for disrespecting the Cup when they get beat. And to be fair, the FA Cup is far less important than it used to be.

He has more clubs than flaps of skin on his face.

I dont like Benitez ok, never have, i dont care what hes done hes not a good manager in my eyes which perhaps arnt as blindly red since i moved state side. Which is half and half now (bloody hell).I dont know where im from anymore. :D

TORRES!!!!!!!! Hes my mostest favourite Liverpool ever!!!! Better than Dalglish better than Keegan, oh and while were on the subject of number 7's what does the current #7 have in common with old #7 Dalglish? Thats right they both wear the same coat, a fashionable duffle coat in Tan or black with toggle buttons. I saw it today honest.

Is the transfer window still open or does it close on feb 1st?
Guess ill go check. If its closed then Keane must be shaggin Rafa's wife me thinks.
16 million in a scarf and coat and it looks like hes actually starting to smile about it. I guess it does give him more time to shop and think about his wardrobe and what he can buy for next week

Huge result today thanks to Fernando "better than Dalglish for a day" Torres, oh and Mr Riley of course have i mentioned how much i hate ref's lately.

Riley was shocking. Shocking! The sending off was wrong. Failing to send Boswinga off for his leaping front kick of Benayoun was as bad. The yellow given to Cole early on was also dreadful.

OTOH, Liverpool were the better side even before Fat Frankie hit the showers. Chelsea had no interest in the fight it seemed. Looks like Big Phil is going to be getting back in the international managing business sooner rather than later.

When Nando wins a Championship we'll start to mention him in the same breath as King Kenny, Kev, Barnes or Rush.

:)

Ref missed the clear push on Torres by Terry for a penalty, also missed the foul on Kuyt and the stamp/boot on Yossi's back by their 15 million pound right back. With those three in mind I'll take the fat Frank sending off.

We were dominating them prior to the sending off too.

How come Scolari's not looking for a job? Palpatine was doing a hell of lot better job last year for the moneybags.

In other news...I think we should break up the the Torres/Gerrard partnership to play Robbie Keane...not.

I love how the media is painting this Robbie Keane thing as Rafa treating Keane harshly - the man has been utter sh!t even when he's playing up front with Torres. Should criticize Rafa for buying him in the first place but not for keeping a woefully out of form player out of the Starting 11.

Yossi was great off the bench.

Yep , Benayoun looked real good again as he did in his last game, should try and find a spot for him while hes on form but he wont. You watch Keane gets on next before Benayoun.

In defense of Keane, tho he has been really bad , when he did finally get of the mark after a hideous start and gain some confidence Rafa benched him the very next game as he did the other times he scored , i think maybe scoring 4 in 4 games before he was dropped yet again.
Rafa messed with his head which goes along with my feelings of why hes a bad manager, its all tactics it seems.
I hate to say it but todays manager needs to cater to the players more treating them on an individual basis or have some one on staff who will in order to get the most out of them no?
Maybe he does and thats why Keane is smiling more while sitting in the stands.
I do feel Keane should have done way more with his starts to prove Rafa wrong but instead he played worse and he deserves to be were hes at right now.
I still hate ref's and Rafa

Riley's display was his usual 'whatever can I do to help Man U' job. Lampard's dismissal was diabolical - if anything, Alonso went in higher and with more intent to injure....much as Gerrard did in the first half. And as for the Bosingwa 'challenge', well, nuff said there.

I just wonder whether Fat Frank shot himself in the foot with his revelation that there was some 'previous' between Alonso and himself...FF will definitely get off that on appeal, but Bosingwa may be held up instead.

Also reporting here that Chelsea are about to offer City £20m plus Drogba plus Alex for Robinho.....if I were Hughes, I'd take that, then phone up Zenit St Petersburg and use the £20m to hijack the Arshavin deal....or jus buy Tim Cahill from Everton.

Looks like you Liverpudlians might get your wish and be rid of Keane.

I'm sure Spurs will be happy to have him back.

Given gone to City. I'd like to salute Shay for 12 years of skilled service to Newcastle in front of some of the worst back fours in the Premiership.

I wish him well at City.

Take care,

Poor English sportswriters. If they return him to Spurs they'll probably still be writing articles asking why Rafa won't play him. :)

Now they'll have to go back to bitching about his "rotation" policy.

Fitting that we are 2 hours past the official deadline and still no one knows what the hell is going on with Arshavin.

Please let me him transfer to Arsenal now and save use from 6 more months of transfer speculation.

You're alright, mate - we only do hard-working wastes of space, not lazy ones. We've got Daniel Nardiello on loan, which seems like a good signing to me, and some Norwegian chap called Rune Lange who, according to a quick Google search, was a pretty good player about 10 years ago.

Lets not forget 'zonal marking' - because only teams that use this 'controversial' system concede goals from set pieces.

Loved yesterday's game on Setanta - 5 mins injury time, Rafa subs off Torres at the NINETY-FIFTH minute mark to waste time and get him a standing O, and the commentator says; "I think Torres is annoyed 'cause Rafa's denying him a hattrick...yes, he sure doesn't look pleased'.

Bye bye Robbie, ffs please don't score against us on the last day of the season.....just imagine your playing FOR Liverpool and everyone will be fine.

Newcastle sends Charles "Insomnia" N'Zogbia to Wigan in what amounts to a swap for Wigan's Ryan Taylor.

Don't know much about Taylor other than he's a fullback who can play midfield. EPL zealots: Is this guy a useful player?

I think he's very handy - very good from set pieces and unlike Zog not a little b1tch.

Some other deadline notables;

Shay to Man City - good signing IMO and big loss for the Toon

Nolan to Newcastle - I like Kevin Nolan so I thought this was a neat move for Kinnear

Quaresma (loan) to Chelsea - wish Rafa had of pulled this one off, will be interesting to see how the other Portuguese step-over merchant does in the EPL

Everton continue their trend of picking up rejects from Manchester (see Howard, Neville, Saha) but this time from City with Jo.

Arshavin to Arshenal - apart from the Euros don't know much about the lad, he looked absolutely unbelievable last summer.

In other news I'm still pinching myself that we've almost got our money back with Keane. Good luck Robbie, I'll miss your sarcastic smiles after you miss a sitter and every time you told our manager to f*** off when you were substituted. JimmyDeicide will actually miss that last part. ;)

Macca,

I was pining for Quaresma for the last several transfer periods, but he really laid a turd for The Special One this season. I've seen a bunch of Inter games and he's looked well and truly lost for them. Maybe he will find the EPL to his liking, but I've got significantly less winger envy than I would've a year ago.

OTOH watching Riera stare at his right foot like he doesn't know what it's for or why it's there is a bit tiring at this point. :)
