I did that. I actually watched it about an hour after it was over. I was spoiled by Netflix as when I watched on there, it flowed more like a movie. Fast forwarding through commecials is a minor annoyance.
What I should have done yesterday is watch the last one or two previous episodes before watching last night's episode. I found myself slightly confused with the story line because of the long lay off.

I watched all previous shows on Netflix, within a period of a couple months. It just felt a little strange for me trying to get back in to it, especially with the addition of commercial breaks.
Appointment TV is long gone. And what are these commercial breaks you speak of during scripted television? The only commercials I see are during live sporting events. Didn't know they existed otherwise.
And I can see how people can get detached if they were watching in line with the show's actual air dates. I consider myself a genius for waiting to finish up season 5(a) on Friday night...so I could go right into the final half season fresh.
I continue to bombard AMC with my demands for a spinoff focusing on Saul's day-to-day activities with Badger getting a job as his paralegal.
There's actually a pretty good chance of a Saul Goodman spinoff happening (if you didn't know). No word on Badger though.
I also recently saw the tape of Bob Odenkirk auditioning for the role of Michael Scott. It made me realize that he could have prevented the office from going straight into the s*** box when Steve Carell left two years ago.
It's crazy how much weight Norris has lost over the years. Watching the seasons in such short order like I have, it's really apparent. Dude dropped like 50-75lbs easy.
I think he almost single-handedly saved this last season of Justified. I deeply love that show, but it was not their strongest year. If it weren't for the depth he brought to Boyd, it would have been a much less engaging story.

I recorded all the episodes they've been airing on weekends but no way have I caught up. I've seen them all but it's been a long time.
I didn't even remember who Drew Sharp was right away.
I especially don't recall Gale giving Walt that book of poetry that Hank discovered in the bathroom. In fact, Walt gave it a couple of days before he insisted on canning Gale and then of course later, Gale was back in the lab for one cook before Jesse shot him.
I can understand Gale admiring Walt for the purity of the meth but he must have soured on him pretty quickly after Walt got him removed from the lab.
It doesn't make sense that Walt would keep a gift from Gale around for any kind of sentimental reasons.

You need to go back and watch that season again
Yeah. You clearly Tjung'd. Gale admired Walt and Walt admired Gale as well. He just had to be eliminated because if he didn't get rid of him Gus would kill him and turn it over to Gale himself. So it wasn't about souring on him at all.
There was mutual geek admiration at first but then Walt saw him as a threat right away and Gale saw that Jesse was to be his replacement and probably wondered WTF?
Considering that Walt didn't deliberate too long before deciding to kill Gale, it's strange that Walt would keep that book.

I don't think Walt WANTED to have Gale killed because of their mutual admiration. But he HAD to have Gale killed. It was a necessity. So maybe he kept the book as some kind of conscience salve. Plus Gale and Walt shared a love of Whitman.

It's a bad sign that I'm mid week and jonsing for my next BB episode. So bad that I tried to get my wife to start watching from episode one (she didn't join me on my binge these past few weeks). It'll happen eventually, but instead, I started watching The Wire. Next will be the Sopranos I suppose. It's sad that I missed all these great shows when they actually aired, but part of the issue is I never have had HBO (never really saw a need for 15 bucks per month).

I'm watching season 1 of the Sopranos. Great show, but doesn't have the pull for me like Breaking Bad or Mad Men. It's going to be a sad day when these two shows stop airing new episodes.
Again, I thought last night's episode of Breaking Bad was mediocre. Slow and anti-climatic, although some of the scenes with Skylar and Hank were a little tense. I found Skylar's character to be a bit not believeable, but I'm sure others will see it another way.
I have a feeling they're setting it up for a rip roaring final four episodes, or at least I hope they are.

That's like saying the Thrilla in Manila was robustly contested. lol That diner scene was an incredible piece of drama. The way that Hank was so clearly wrestling with his dual role as family man and cop while Skylar was trying to keep it together while figuring out how to play her cards was just heart-stopping IMO.

I agree that was a tense scene Rob, but the relationship between Walt and Skylar has been strained for a long time now, that it almost seems unrealistic that she wouldn't cooperate and try to come clean. Of course, she's known about his wrong doings for a while, so perhaps she's concerned about going to prison herself. I just don't really see how she has changed and she's now the supporting and concerned wife.
Either way, Hank seems steadfast on bringing Walt down, so why not just arrest him on suspicion? It seems he has enough probable evidence.
Looks like things are going to pick up quickly though, with Todd back in the picture.
I thought last nights BB episode was very well done. To me it feels very realistic that Skylar would be weighing her options VERY carefully as she has always felt like she can't just walk away free & clear. Even if she is not correct in that assumption, we have watched her convince herself that she is as guilty as Walt for her involvement - all the way back to her "cooking the books" for her old employer.
She isn't supporting Walt in any way, she is looking out for herself 100% so she does not lose her kids.
