According to the 2K forum administrator, the patch has already been handed off to Microsoft. And, it's been certified.
The patch was supposed to appear online Tuesday morning, but Live server maintenance held it up. Microsoft then told 2K the patch would appear this morning, but still no dice.
I'm think this is more of a Microsoft issue than anything else.
Just give me rosters at least. I can play the game as is right now, framerate doesn't bother me and at some stadiums it's not even that big of a problem. The gameplay and user interaction is good so I want to get started.

Hmmm, i wonder how angry it is over on the 2k boards....... makes me appreciate the relative "maturity" of this place, lol.
Yes things are getting slightly elevated over there.
Now that COD4 maps are out the smoke is becoming thicker and the 2k-lies and theories are developing quick.
The overall thought is that the patch was not done or sucked so it was handed back to correct things further.
I just hope for the love of baseball that the ball hitting the glove and flying about 300 ft gets fixed. In the BIGS they rule that a ground rule double, in 2k8 its an unoffical inside the park HR.
I've never seen that issue, at least not yet. For me the framerate is the biggest thing, and I hope they fix (or will fix later) the other things, like freezing, minor league stats not showing on the minors lineup screens, the injury/DL/roster size issues, etc.
I have to be at work most of this weekend, so in one way i'm glad the patch isnt' out so I don't miss anything.
I can't access 2k here at work, but I can only imagine some of the venom and conspiracy theories being bandied about!
"I know you guys are going to naturally take this time where there is a lack of a patch and come up with conspiracies but the truth is, a patch has been created, was sent to Microsoft for approval and passed the test, and now will shortly be released. Those are the facts, if we could stop with threads that start a theory based on no facts whatsoever, it really makes people turn things that aren't true into facts of their own. However, I can't change all of your minds but those are the facts as is."
I only seen the glove glitch once or twice but seriously the ball went further of the feilders glove then it was hit off the bat. The ball just went sailing into the crowd. I have the error sliders low but i wonder if i turned them off completly?? I'd rather have no errors then cheap-ass balls go flying into the crowd for automatic unearned runs. beyond that i'm pretty happy with the game. I'm almost done tweaking but took a break until the "patch" or retail version is released since the sliders might be affected, like last years.
everyone is waiting on this patch like it will be "the 2nd coming" or something???
just log out of your XBL profile and Walaaa.......GAME PATCHED!
Since this patch isn't addressing any gameplay issues, then I dont see why people are so worked up about it? I don't really have any issues about the game "as is". It will be nice to turn on cutscenes and replays again when they patch it, but other than that it not really a big deal.
Anyone have any sliders that will let me walk the CPU without giving up ton of meatballs? I can't walk anyone (rarely even go to 3 balls). I tried bumping the TPC slider to the right, but that leads to meatballs flying over the fence way too often.
If I could resolve this one issue, I think I could really get into this game. As it is right now, it is too frustrating. The inclusion of meatballs is killing me. A missed pitch should just be a ball, not a turbo boost to the batter.
I've left my pitching sliders for the human alone on All Star, and I usually walk a few each game. I most times go for the catcher's targets, and miss enough to throw balls.
Also, when I first started playing, I threw a ton of meatballs. Now, I'm throwing maybe one or two a game, if that, and they aren't always cranked.
I am missing on the metre just enough to screw up my location, but not meatballs.

You have to find the spot on the TPC slider that gets you the results that Gangrel mentions. I'm there now too. Try one notch at a time if you need to, but as I've said in this thread before, finding that spot on that slider is probably the most important thing you can do to maximize enjoyment out of the pitching in this game.
I haven't played much since the first week it was released but when I popped it in just now it made me update. Was there already an update for this game or was it the patch?
I am a patient boy.
I wait, I wait, I wait, I wait.
My time is water down a drain.

There was one update since release - that was probably it.
There would be mention of the patch on the 2K website if it were released.
Played my first online game tonight and it wasn't really bad. Thought it would have terrible lag but there wasn't that much. One thing was when I was batting, when the ball was hit into field, it went to a blimp cam. Not sure if this is only for online, but it worked out pretty good. Fielding was the regular cam.
I got to say this is the most fun I've had in a baseball videogame since MVP05. Like MVP, it does so many good things when you really get into it.
Patch is finally out. Came out first thing this morning. Amuse yourselves at work by following the outpouring of excitement then consternation then grief at OS and 2K as the gamers put the game through some stress tests.
Took a real quick look at it since my son woke up early this morning. From what I saw there was no stuttering whatsoever. Cool!
However, Jon and Joe still get cut off during the pre-game talking. Not a big deal, but I do like to listen to their banter before a game starts.
But anyway, the big issue seems to be gone (oh, and no ticker at the bottom of the screen either, woohoo!) It will be interesting to see how it works for the guys running in HD (my HDTV is still broken).
My only real issue with the game is the limited amount of steal attempts by the CPU. Hopefully that was addressed in the patch. Even if they didn't, I'm really enjoying this game.
I really dont think there are any other fixes included, but like last years i dont recall knowing what was in that one either.
I'm just going to finish tweaking sliders and begin a franchise. Anyone tweak your own sliders but things are not exactly shaping up as you'd like and you decide to try someones set. My fear is that if i change mine and do not like the new set its hard to get back your this year since they stopped using the number on each slider.
I like my set, i just want a bit more "action" most game have only 2-5 hits each, which could be realistic but not always a constant.

You can save multiple slider sets.
I can't comprehend the logic behind removing the slider numbers, though. "Hey, lets make things harder on our users!"
